Max's Restaurant

Max's Restaurant is known as "the house that fried chicken built". Pinoys have loved their sarap to the bones chicken goodness since 1945! For my parents' anniversary, my family had dinner in Max's Restaurant in Banawe. We just love indulging in good Filipino food.

Max's Restaurant in Banawe

We went to Max's Restaurant in Banawe on a weeknight, and we were promptly seated. Some of us have already eaten dinner, so we went for the half-table Set B meal, which is good for 5.

Max's Per Table Menu B (Half) (P1695.00)

A complete set menu, from soup to dessert, just right for the whole family and friends. Includes the following dishes: Max's Fried Chicken, Soup of the Day, Oriental Beef with Mushroom, Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet, Pancit Canton, Plain Rice, Roasted Nuts, and Frozen Fruit Salad. Serves 5 people.

Max's Fried Chicken
The original, classic fried chicken that made Max's popular. It is cooked to golden perfection, processed in a very unique way which gives this product the unforgettable "Sarap to the Bones™" quality, spiced just right and totally MSG-free.

This was the main reason why we chose to dine here. We love Max's fried chicken because of it's thin, crisp skin and tender, juicy meat. It came with Max's Kamote Fries (sweet potatoes), which is a healthy and nourishing alternative to potato fries.

Soup of the Day (5)

The soup of the day was Creamy Tinola. I love that it was indeed creamy, not so watery, and the hints of ginger added spicy flavor.

Oriental Beef with Mushrooms
A superb combination od sauteed, sliced oriental beef and four assorted mushrooms (shiitake, wood ear, straw, and button mushrooms) seasoned to create a flavorful dish. garnished with Taiwan pechay . Good for 2-3 persons.

Chicken Sisig
A unique sizzling treat from Max's with it's chicken chopped to tiny bits and cooked with robust serving of onions, celery, and mayonnaise topped with chili fingers. Serves: 2-3.

I was looking forward to the Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet, but it was not available that night, so we had to choose a dish to replace it. We went for Chicken Sisig instead. This chicken sisig is less oily than the classic pork sisig that I love, and it had green chili bits all over it. My parents loved this one.

Pancit Canton
An all-time favorite Chinese noodle dish made with egg noodles and topped with vegetables, shrimps, chicken balls, pork strips, chicken liver, and gizzard. Good for 2-3 persons.

This pancit canton is not oily and it had lots of toppings! This one is flavorful, and I would love to go to Max's just to have this for merienda.

Plain Rice (5)
Freshly steamed long grain white rice. Good for 1 person.

Roasted Nuts

This was served as an appetizer before all the dishes were served. This dish of roasted nuts kept us entertained while waiting, but there's nothing really special with how it tasted.

Buko Pandan (5)
A refreshing dessert made of fresh buko strips, green gulaman, and cooked tapioca. It is then flavored with sugar & pandan to give that appetizing aroma.

Our dessert was supposed to be Frozen Fruit Salad, but again, it was not available so we had to choose a replacement. Our favorite was actually Buko Pandan, so were were secretly glad that Frozen Fruit Salad was out of stock. This one is a typical yummy buko pandan dessert, similar to that of The Aristocrat Restaurant's. This is sweet but not too sweet and creamy - the perfect dessert to cap off your meal.

    1. You have to try Buko Pandan sometime, Alizzei! You'll love it. The combination of cold coconut strips, pandan jelly, and tapioca balls in cream is heavenly.
