The Body Shop Body Butter Makeover

The Body Shop Body Butters just got a gorgeous makeover! It's the same body butter you love, but with a fresher and more classy packaging.

Before & After: Shea Body Butter

Available in 13 different fragrances, our Body Butters are among our most famous products, with one tub of Body Butter selling every two seconds. And now, they're getting a brand new look. What's so different about the new design?

♥ Gorgeous photography focusing on a single natural ingredient
♥ Photography of the natural ingredients used a magnifying glass to highlight their beauty
♥ Logo surrounding the ingredient "protects" the natural ingredient within, symbolizing our Protect the Planet ethos
♥ 100% recyclable packaging

The one on the left is a new tub of Shea Body Butter we have at home. Yes, we have a spare tub of that just in case we run out! I got to take home the new version when I went to the premiere screening of Snow White & The Huntsman. (Thanks to The Body Shop!)

With Ms. Bernice of Love Your Body

Cocktails were served before the movie screening. Check out this lovely Snow White themed table centerpiece.

Beaming with my huntsman, Chris Hemsworth!

Thank you so much, The Body Shop! You definitely know how to spoil your Love Your Body members. Thanks also to Ria for being my date and for the pictures. Watch out for a body butter review soon. :)

Helen

Save vs. Spend: Vegan Retractable Makeup Brush

Here's another makeup brush feature! I'm totally obsessed with super soft makeup brushes. I've been looking for a retractable blush brush for the longest time, and I saw this in Landmark (the same place where I got my super soft Jenny brush). This one is as soft as my Jenny brush, but smaller and less dense.

The rose-colored metal casing is sleek and semi-matte. The bristles of this brush is synthetic (hence vegan) and is super duper soft.

This retractable brush is priced at P90.00 in Landmark Trinoma. There's a smaller version of this brush, but this size is the most ideal for me when it comes to applying blush.

This feature is Save vs. Spend because I saw the exact same brush being sold in Suesh for P550.00. I'm not kidding when I said that they were exactly the same (because the one from Suesh has no branding whatsoever). I saw it in Suesh Trinoma and in Suesh's Facebook page.

"Now Available! Your favorite powder/blush retractable brush goes VEGAN!
Price: P 550"
If you want to get this vegan (synthetic) retractable makeup brush, you know exactly where to go.

Helen

J.Co Donuts

I've been hearing on how great J.Co Donuts are since they opened their first store in SM Megamall, but it's just now that I've finally got the chance to try it. My friend and I went to their store in SM Mall of Asia last Saturday after shopping in the Superb Bazaar in SMX for some energy-boosting treats! The J.Co store there was on their soft opening and yet there were lots of people lining up and buying their yummy donuts. Their store was a bit small and all tables were occupied, so we had to sit outside.

I had a hard time choosing what flavors to get because all of the donuts looked so colorful and delicious. After much deliberation, here's what I ended up choosing.

Left to Right: Blueberry More, Donna Italiano, Mona Pisa, Cheese Me Up, Tiramisu (2), Oreology, Berry Spears, Funilla Glaze, Coco Loco, Donna Italiano, Heaven Berry

Left to Right: Coco Loco, Black Jack, Choconuttzy, Snow White, Heaven Berry, Don Mochino, Green Tease, Choco Caviar Strawberry, Alcapone, Why Nut, Tiramisu, Avocado Dicaprio

Nothing is sweeter than the togetherness we share.

I got 2 dozens so I could take home these treats to my family. My friend and I also had some donuts on the spot.

Donna Italiano

The nutty filling is mixed with Italian chocolate and a hint of expresso. The white topping has a mousse like consistency that adds creaminess and a bit of texture to the donut.

Tiramisu

This donut has a smooth Tiramisu flavored cream, which also has hints of expresso (similar to Donna Italiano). Although at first this looked like cookies and cream, that's actually cocoa powder sprinkled on top of the donut.

Mona Pisa

Mona Pisa is J.Co's very savory and meaty donut. It tastes like cheesy sausage pizza, which I like!

Don Mochino

Coffee lovers will go crazy over this donut! One bite and this became my instant favorite. Mocha, chocolate, and coffee rolled into a delightful donut. And look at the white hearts! I wish I bought more pieces of this variant, because I know that my family will love this.

Avocado Dicaprio

Avocado cream with chocolate shavings on the side, this unique flavor will surely tickle your taste buds. It's fruity and not too sweet, which is a good thing. (I'm not so fond of it's slight bitter aftertaste though.)

J.Co donuts are so not overrated, and people line up for these because they're just so good. The texture of the donut is soft - you can hold it, pinch it a little, and it would flatten. With so many variants to choose from, there's surely a donut flavor for everyone.

I took the remaining donuts home, and it didn't even survive 24 hours because my family found it so delicious. However, it's best to eat it on the same day you bought it, as the donuts are at their softest, yummiest state. (The donuts became dry when we left it in the room overnight).

J.Co Donuts are priced at P42.00 per piece, P230.00 per 1/2 half dozen, P350.00 per 1 dozen, and P550.00 per 2 dozen. They currently have 2 stores at SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia. I hope their store in Trinoma (which is currently under construction) opens soon. We badly need our J.Co fix up here in the North. :)

Leighton Meester and Mario Maurer for Penshoppe

Penshoppe Impact Holiday 2012 is one of the most anticipated shows in the Philippine Fashion Week for a good reason: their Penshoppe All Stars campaign took off with great success as international stars Mario Maurer, Zac Efron, Ian Somerhalder, and Leighton Meester joined their elite circle of brand ambassadors.

Everyone is excited for the show to start. It opened with a video on the screen showing Penshoppe's finest, hottest, and not to mention, yummiest endorsers to date: Mario Maurer, Ian Somerhalder, and Zac Efron. All three of them have the most beautiful eyes, faces, and bodies!

Penshoppe's Holiday 2012 is all about Chambray, Checks & Splats, Brights, Pastels, and Black & White. Penshoppe also collaborated with Robin Tomas for their designer collection.

Watching the show, I realized that Penshoppe has gone a long way from their T-shirt and jeans days. I particularly love their pastel colored blazers, which are so perfect for work and the upcoming rainy season. I also loved their brights - the tops, skirts, and dresses definitely makes a statement and adds a beautiful pop of color to your look.

Towards the end of the show was the part we've all been waiting for. The crowd went wild when Alex Mendoza, Brand Manager of Penshoppe, introduced to us Penshoppe's newest and only muse, Leighton Meester together with Mario Maurer in the show's grand finale. Yes, the Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl!

Of course, the night wouldn't be complete without Mario Maurer's smile and wave. Mario and Leighton looked so cute as they walked back together towards the stage.

Now I'm excited for Penshoppe's Holiday Collection to hit their stores! I'm also looking forward to their All Stars campaign, and to what Leighton Meester will wear from Penshoppe.

Love,
Helen

Hershey's Flavored Lip Balms

Lip balms are my weakness. I just can't get enough of them. I'd like to justify my addiction and say that I like caring for my lips, but I like them so much that I buy and buy even if I haven't finished the ones I have at home.

Yesterday, I went to the Superb Bazaar in SMX together with my sister and friend. I was already eying this set of yummy lip balms online, but haven't gotten around purchasing it. (Besides, what will I do with 10 lip balms?). Then my friend and I decided to purchase and share these!

This set has lip balms that taste like Bubble Yum, Ice Breakers, Hershey's Kissables, Twizzlers, Reese's, York, and Jolly Rancher. All sweets from the Hershey's brand. And to think that the main reason why I wanted to get this was just because of the Reese's Flavored Lip Balm.

Reese's Flavored Lip Balm - it smells and tastes like the real thing!

I got this from Chedelyn's Cosmetics Collection. They sell loads of authentic US cosmetics brands. They sell online and join in different bazaars. The first time I visited their stall was at the Noel Bazaar last year, where my sister and I got crazy in makeup heaven. They have familiar brands like Maybelline, NYX, L'Oreal, Revlon, and other brands we don't have locally like Rimmel, Physicians Formula, and many more. They also have makeup tools like brushes, applicators, and palettes. They sell at affordable prices, almost up to 50% off the mall prices here.

Visit their stall (E 21) in the Superb Bazaar at SMX until today or like them on Facebook.

Some of my favorite stuff from their store are the L'Oreal Lash Serum (only P400.00 vs P900.00 mall price) and Maybelline Baby Lips (US Version, P75.00; mall price: P79.00).

Their NYX Lipsticks are at P140.00, which is similar to other online stores. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstains which we don't have here are just at P330.00. (Super steal!)

They also have other cutesy lip balms worth mentioning, like these!

Now you know where to go for your lip balm (and other cosmetics) fix! ;)

Love,
Helen
