I've
read in magazines that concealers and/or foundations have to be part of
your "splurge" list when it comes to beauty. Sometimes, foundations
(especially those high-end ones) work so well that they alone can
already cover imperfections and dark circles, hence concealers won't be
necessary. For days that I don't want to wear full-on makeup, I reach
for concealer to lighten my dark circles, since it instantly makes me
look fresher and more well-rested. One time, I came across these pots of
San San Concealers in HBC. Though they're so affordable and can't be
considered as a splurge, I got curious on how it would work for me. Who
knows if this might turn out to be a good product after all?
San San Concealers in Light and Beige
San San Concealer in Natural
This
was actually a fail purchase. The color on the box looked dark enough,
but this turned out to be their lightest shade. It should have been
named "Pale" instead. I swatched this and never bothered to use it
again. It's too white even for my fair skin. Too bad I can't have this
returned. I have no use for it, but my sister said this could be used to
highlight or brighten the eye area.
San San Concealer in Beige
After
purchasing the concealer in Natural, I went for the second shade, which
is Beige. Beige is better, and it matched my skin tone spot on! I only
use this for my dark under-eye circles, and it covers them well. I
wished it lasted longer though. It works okay on cooler days since it
stays on with no problem, but once it gets hot or when I start to sweat,
off comes the product! So you really have to set this concealer with
either pressed or loose powder afterwards.
Another
good thing with San San Cosmetics is that they formulate their makeup
to be good for the skin, enriching their makeups with Vitamins A, C, and
E, and SPF 15.

When Worn (Beige)
This
is the same concealer that Maricar Reyes uses. (Her shade is Beige,
too.) I read about it from Maven's September-October 2011 issue. I think
Maricar Reyes is an effective endorser of San San since she always
looks fresh and she carries herself well, no matter what her look.
I
wouldn't be repurchasing this one anytime soon since my pot will last a
long time for sure. (All 13 grams of it!) If you're looking for an
affordable concealer, this one is worth a try, but make sure you choose
the right shade (Natural, Beige, or Olive). Each pot cost a little over
P100.00. However, this is not HG material. I'm still in search of that
perfect concealer for me.
Love,
Helen
I've used this too and I liked it. My best friend is currently using it also. It really is a good buy if you are looking for affordable products! :)
ReplyDeleteLots of people seem to be using this! I always see these concealers in blogs. Glad you and your best friend liked it. :)
Deletewow, beige really matched your skintone! It's like you don't even had the concealer on! :)
ReplyDeleteIf only it lasted longer! I super like this beige shade. :)
Deletegreat review helen? does it smudge easily? i like the beige one :) mukhang its a sulit buy!! :)
ReplyDeleteRovie, The Bargain Doll
Thanks, Rovie? Haha! :) Pag mainit oo, kelangan i-set with powder. Super sulit nga e. Feel ko never to mauubos kasi ang daming product sa pan.
Deleteim really amazed w those concealers! i got both shades too cause they're so freaking cheap and what i do is i mix them to achieve my perfect match. they are quite oily though so u need to really set them. but for everyday concealing, it's really nice. you wont break the bank w it :D -Loving Sunshine
ReplyDeleteI agree! It's a nice product for everyday use since it's so cheap, but it works. Powder is the only requirement though for it to last all day. :)
Deleteit can conceal pimple marks too?
ReplyDeleteSorry, I haven't tried that yet, since I only use this for my dark cicles.
DeleteGreat review. I've tried this is in the shade natural. It was way too light. But it covers quite well. ^_^
ReplyDeleteNatural is not natural at all. Beige is better. :D
Deletepwede po ba kayo gumawa ng "Battle of Concealers: Sansan" ? Like Sansan HD Concealer vs. Sansan Pot Concealer? :) sa undereye lang po :)
ReplyDeleteHello Marykay! Wala akong ibang Sansan concealers as of the moment eh. But I will keep that in mind! :) Pag nangailangan ako ng concealer try ko un HD nila.
DeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteI have 2 dark blemishes on my skin. That is a size of a 5 cents coin. Or maybe a bit smaller than that. I'm currently using San San Soleil Matte Foundation on my face but it failed to cover those freakin blemish. Do you think this would be a great product to use?
Or let's say if I use this, would this compliment with my Nichido Pressed Powder?(i mean without using foundation, just this and a pressed powder)

Hi Cris, it depends. What type of blemish? If it's a pimple, I think this concealer will slide off because of oil. If they're scars, this might work, but you definitely have to set it with powder.
DeleteI've only tried this on my undereyes, and it works fine there.
