Flormar Extreme Matte Lipstick

And now, a back-to-back Flormar review! ๐Ÿ’‹

I think I'm over my matte liquid lipstick phase and am really going back to my classic matte lipsticks. While I loved how transfer-proof liquid lipsticks are, they look uneven when they wear off after a heavy meal, and I tend to remove all remaining product on the outer part of my lips before retouching for a smoother finish. (Hassle during busy days!) Sometimes, they flake off and feel dry too. Whereas matte lipsticks in bullet or crayon form now have innovative formulas that do not dry out the lips. ๐Ÿ‘

Flormar Extreme Matte Lipstick contain Cupuaรงu and light ester oils to nourish and moisturize the lips. While the lipstick come in a normal packaging, the lipstick bullet has a very unique shape!

03 Urban Rose

06 Desire

Flormar Extreme Matte Lipstick has a mild fruity scent similar to their Deluxe Cashmere Lipstick. I have two shades from this range, and they vary in texture. 03 Urban Rose is a pinkish nude shade that has a "harder" formula in a way that it drags on the lips upon application, while 06 Desire is a berry red shade that glides on like butter. While I'm not fond of 03 Urban Rose and I don't use it anymore, I love 06 Desire. It's a moisturizing matte lipstick that can withstand an oily meal. When I can't retouch right after, I just press my lips together to blend the color and it looks fine once more. ๐Ÿ’–

Flormar Satin Matte Blush

My skin easily gets shiny so I'm all for matte makeup. I have a lot of blushers inside my makeup storage, but I think these babies from Flormar are the only completely matte blushes I own. Not a single speck of shimmer here!

If you're not yet familiar with the brand, Flormar is Turkey's #1 makeup brand. You can find their products in SM Beauty and Watsons. Price range is pretty afforable, too!

02 Coral Peach

04 Rose Coral

To be honest, I find the packaging of this product just okay. It has a sleek shape and feel. I like the window on the cap because you'll immediately see the shade inside. It comes with a small mirror, but the blush brush is scratchy and useless. I tossed one brush inside an ecobrick and gave the second brush one away.

What's inside is really nice though...

02 Coral Peach | 04 Rose Coral

These blushers are indeed matte and highly pigmented. The two coral shades I have in 02 Coral Peach and 04 Rose Coral are very natural looking and can be worn by anyone. On a usual day at work where I only wear light makeup (pressed powder + blush), this one lasts me half a day and I have to retouch by lunch time. But when I do my base properly (foundation + blush + powder), this blush lasted me the entire day (like when I attended a day wedding ceremony).

I am wearing 02 Coral Peach in this photo. I like it better since it gives me a bright glow despite being matte. This shade complements my skin tone. 04 Rose Coral is a deeper coral; it's also wearable for light skin, but it will suit medium to deep skin tones better.

Flormar Silk Matte Liquid Lipstick

The products that excited me the most from my last Flormar haul were the Silk Matte Liquid Lipsticks! I have three shades to review and swatch. ๐Ÿ’‹

Visibly smooth, satin and extremely matte liquid lipstick combined with rich color and comfortable wear

I appreciate that Flormar indicates the manufacturing and expiry dates on the product's label. The Silk Matte Liquid Lipsticks are good for 5 years upon manufacturing, but will last for 18 months from the time you open the product.

06 Cherry Blossom

Cherry Blossom is such as lovely pink! While I haven't seen the real cherry blossoms yet, this will keep me company for now. ๐Ÿ˜ I actually had a eureka moment while using this one. One day, I picked my pinkish Happy Skin Lip & Cheek Mousse to use as blush and this liquid lipstick to complete my look. That morning, I was too sleepy to realize that I had been applying this liquid lipstick on my cheeks! I didn't even notice because of its formula and how easily it blended on my cheeks. Haha! It worked though! It gave me a pretty natural-looking pink flush that lasted all day.

Flormar Silk Matte Liquid Lipstick has a very creamy formula that coats the lips with a velvety, powdery finish. It has a smooth finish with visibly less lines compared to other matte liquid lipsticks. It has a sweet scent but no flavor.

08 Dark Violet

I usually like dark kontrabida lipstick shades because they give so much contrast to my pale face. I wanted to like the shade 08 Dark Violet, but after using it twice, I figured it's not for me. It's named dark violet, but it looks more maroon and the color is not true to what's on the tube. It's hard to get the color even, as dark liquid lipsticks are usually patchy. I'm sticking to 06 Cherry Blossom and 10 Tender Terra (my favorite!) below.

10 Tender Terra

This is my FAVORITE nude lipstick at the moment. It's a nude brown shade that doesn't wash my pale skin out. I can wear this alone and it makes my face look alive! It also makes my lips look super smooth. The formula is really easy to blend and work with. I use the doe foot applicator to extend the product beyond my lip line for fuller-looking lips and it works! ๐Ÿ‘ This is a perfect shade for everyday wear. It can withstand merienda (hello Potato Corner) and it only comes off with a full, oily meal. I don't mind retouching though.

Pros:
  • Manufacturing and expiry dates indicated
  • Beautiful shade selection
  • Sweet scent but no flavor
  • Creamy formula
  • Easy to control/blend
  • Smooth finish (less lip lines)
  • Dries to a velvety matte finish with a lightweight powdery feel (you'll forget you have it on!)
  • Super comfy (you can smile all you want and your lips won't feel like they're cracking)
  • Non-drying
  • Does not migrate to your front teeth
  • Very minimal transferring
  • Can withstand frequent sips from my tumbler and light snacking
  • Very affordable

Cons:
  • Patchy dark shade (08 Dark Violet)
  • Packaging has no rubber stopper inside so the entire wand is coated with product (you have to wipe the doe foot applicator on the inside of the tube first before using)

06 Cherry Blossom | 08 Dark Violet | 10 Tender Terra

Price: P349
Available at select SM Department Stores and Watsons outlets

Verdict: These are definitely the comfiest matte liquid lipsticks I have used. If you don't want to deal with matte liquid lipsticks that suck the moisture out of your lips (AKA some shades of Colourpop), give the Flormar Silk Matte Liquid Lipstick a try! ๐Ÿ˜—

UltiMATTE Flormar Haul

Flormar sent me new toys to play with! For the meantime, here's a haul post on their matte products! ๐Ÿ˜

THAT'S A LOT OF MAKEUP! ๐Ÿ’

First up, lippies! You all know how I'm so into lipsticks. It's the makeup I enjoy reviewing the most. Hihi ๐Ÿ’„

  • Extreme Matte Lipstick (P399 each) is COMPLETELY matte and has a subtle fruity scent.
  • Silk Matte Liquid Lipstick (P349 each) is a new favorite of mine! ๐Ÿ’– It has a velvety powedery finish that's ever so lightweight, it's like you're not wearing any lipstick. I have 3 of these in my stash -  2 were sent by Flormar, and 1 was from Project Vanity's 10th anniversary kit.
  • Lip Primer (P399 each) which I haven't tried yet. Hehe ๐Ÿ™Š

Next up, blush! The Satin Matte Blush (P299) is completely matte with no speck of shimmer. It has an unbelievably smooth texture (try swatching it using your finger when you chance upon it in a Flormar counter and you'll see what I mean), and pigmentation is awesome. Not a fan of the tiny brush it comes with, though. Plus points for the mirror. I got 2 coral-themed shades - will share swatches real soon!

This Contour Palette (P499) is intimidating for contour-newbie me, but thankfully there are instructions at the back of the packaging which I can follow. Wish me luck! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Makeup artists will find this one handy and it's affordable considering the amount of product you're getting.

I'm amazed with the brush of the Triple Action Mascara as it evolves when you twist the base! It can be a lengthening, curling, or volumizing mascara. So excited with this one! Will share a Boomerang video on my IG on how the brush looks like. ๐Ÿ˜

Reviews soon as I'm currently testing them out! ๐Ÿ’‹

Flormar is a Turkish brand, and it's available in leading department stores nationwide.

Helen

Flormar Deluxe Cashmere Lipstick

These Flormar Deluxe Cashmere Lipsticks are part of my Beauty Backstage haul. While I am a huge fan of matte lipstick over glossy ones, I was told that the Deluxe Cashmere Lipstick is a bestseller here in the Philippines so I got curious! During the event, I had a hard time picking which shade(s) to get since I wanted a LOT, but I managed to narrow my choices down to these two. These lippies are actually my introduction to the Turkish brand. ๐Ÿ˜Š

DELUXE CASHMERE STYLO Special formula that combines the finest colour pigments with an infusion of last generation moisture - boosting complex. Orchid Complex leaves the lips smooth and provides moisturizing. Fights free radicals and reduces appearance of fine lip lines. Shea butter and Cacao butter gives hydration and protection to the lips with mild and soothing effect. A full basket of anti-oxidants loaded formula leaves lips wrapped in light glossy color, comfort, nourishing and protection.

Sounds promising, right? Time to put them to the test!

Flormar Deluxe Cashmere Lipstick in DC26 Festive Burgundy

Festive Burgundy

On the tube, it looks darker but it shows up as a lighter berry hue. It's a very wearable shade you can use everyday, and not just during festive occasions even if the shade name says otherwise. When my Mom was looking for a lipstick to use for my sister's graduation ceremony, this was her pick among all my lipsticks!

However, it's a shade I know I have seen before. When I checked my stash, I found the exact dupe for it (SilkyGirl Moisture Boost Lipcolor Balm in Wine). HUHU! Duplicate makeup! I felt sad, but I'm the one who chose this shade so you can say that I like the color. Haha ๐Ÿ˜

Flormar Deluxe Cashmere Lipstick in DC30 Austere Brown

Austere Brown

When I saw this shade on the display, I knew I was going to get it immediately! It looked dark and vampy on the tube, exactly how I want my lipstick to be on days when I feel I need something more powerful than red lipstick. Austere Brown does not disappoint at all! It's a brown shade that looks fierce and it makes the teeth look whiter. (In person, this looks more brown than red.) It reminds me of Revlon's Wine Not, but that one had sucky texture, and this one from Flormar is the bomb! This one looks very sophisticated. Because I love bold lipstick like that, I also wear this to work. Ganun talaga! ๐Ÿ’‹

Austere Brown in action! (Hi, Lala! ๐Ÿ’–)
Glowing skin care of Beauty Lab Whitening - I am on my 4th session and counting! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Both shades of the Flormar Deluxe Cashmere Lipsticks I've tried have the same smooth texture and glide. They stay on fairly long for a moisturizing lipstick. They don't fade when you drink or snack, but they wear off after a full meal. In person, they're not too glossy, but they make the lips look and feel healthy.

Pros:
  • Pretty packaging
  • Production and expiry dates are indicated
  • Contains orchid complex to combat lip lines
  • Contains shea and cacao butter to moisturize
  • Very hydrating but doesn't budge!
  • Very mild (almost unnoticeable) scent
  • Pigmented
  • Wide color selection
  • Fair price for its quality

Cons:
  • Unsealed (mine was when I got it)
  • The cap could be improved so it won't open easily

Price: P399
Available at SM Beauty and Watsons

I'm pleased with my first Flormar product(s). Looking forward to trying more from the brand! I'm testing the Flormar Illuminating Make-up Base next! ๐Ÿ˜

Love,
Helen

Beauty Backstage Shopping Party + HAUL!

I started my 2017 with a major kikay kit upgrade! ๐Ÿ’–

Last week, I was invited by Liz to Beauty Backstage. It was an exclusive shopping party with Bhagi's International. They are the official Philippine distributor of Catrice Cosmetics, Deborah Milano, Essence Cosmetics, Flormar Cosmetics, Jordana USA, Il Salone, Joe of London, and Entity. I admit that I am not very familiar with all of the brands mentioned, but it was fun to discover these top European and US brands!

I miss hanging out with my beauty blogger friends, so I am very grateful for this day. I spent the afternoon with Kaycee and Liz (fellow early birds) and we couldn't wait to shop! ๐Ÿ˜ Being early during events has its perks - almost all shades are available for us to choose from. YAY!

But first, let's get to know the brands!

Catrice Cosmetics comes from Germany, and is inspired by the trends in the fashion capitals of the world. This brand is proud of their high-quality ingredients, luxurious textures, innovative formulas, and premium packaging. They don't test on animals. Price range is from P200 to P600.

Another German brand to love is Essence Cosmetics - they say NO to animal testing and YES to quality. Essence is a very popular drugstore cosmetic brand in Europe! They are able to keep the prices low by investing in product development, instead of hiring expensive supermodels to represent the brand. Price range is from P100 to P500. (AMAZING!)

With Deborah Milano, Italian creativity meets Italian style. Expertise, quality, and design are the hallmarks of Deborah Milano, the brand that stands for excellence and the Italian passion for beauty. Price range is from P300 to P800.

Flormar is the number 1 make up brand in Turkey. They have an amazing range of face bases!

Jordana is family-owned and based in Los Angeles, California. They've been in the market for over 25 years, and they're all about high-quality makeup that’s affordable. They also offer vegan products and products made in the USA. Price range is from P120 to P1,000.

There was literally a red carpet in the venue, as if we weren't already pampered enough! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now, it's shopping time! This shopping experience was both fun and confusing at the same time. I wanted a lot but I had to trim it down to 2 to 3 picks per brand. ๐Ÿ˜€

I don't have a legit contour product in my kikay kit (since I'm more into highlighters), so picking out the Catrice Prime and Fine Professional Contouring Palette in 010 Ashy Radiance (P499) was an easy decision. It comes with a cool-toned brown contour powder and a matching highlighter! I also wanted to update my blush collection, hence the Catrice Blush Artist Shading Palette in 010 Bronze Eclat (P499). (This blush shade was picked out for me by Ms. Katrina, Assistant Brand Manager of Bhagi's International.) To set my makeup and for retouch throughout the day, I also got the Catrice All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder in 025 Sand Beige (P379). These products look very promising, so I'm very excited to try them out!

I was having a low EQ moment as I approached the Essence booth and saw that they had palettes, so I forgot to take a photo of the booth itself. Haha! They launched a line called "Bloggers' Beauty Secrets" in collaboration with some of Europe's top beauty bloggers. These are great gift suggestions to your makeup junkie friends!

I had to ask them if the Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in 10 Be My Highlight (P379) is already available, since it had been out of stock in stores since late last year. Thank heavens it was! ๐Ÿ˜ Based from all the Essence reviews I've read and watched, if you had to pick just one item from this brand, this would be it! (Now, I can't wait to try it out myself!) I needed a new mascara so I chose the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara (P349). It's not waterproof, so I figured it's more friendly for everyday wear. Last but not the least is this cute Essence Touch Up and Go! One-For-All Palette (P499). It contains a duo blush, 3 eyeshadows, a balm, and a duo applicator. I don't know if I'll be able to use it. It's so cute! I might just stare at it or give it away as gift. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Il Salone is an Italian professional hair care brand. At this booth, I was able to pick 2 boxes of Il Salone Intense Professional Color Cream Permanent Hair Color. One of my hair resolutions is to just stick to my natural black hair color, but these babies are calling me! And so, I picked one in a lighter shade (8.3 Medium Golden Blonde), and another one in a darker shade (7 Dark Blonde) should I want just a hint of subtle color.

The first Jordana product I had is the Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color in Sweet Marsala Wine (P399) which was included in the Project Vanity Naughty and Nice Kit. Liz recommended the Tiramisu shade, which I got during the event. Another interesting product is the Jordana Complete Cover 2-in-1 Concealer & Foundation in 04 Natural Beige (P499). The last one was an impulsive pick - Jordana Fabuliner Bold Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner in 01 Black (P399). I wanted a liquid liner pen, but this was the only one they had left and they didn't have testers. The bold felt tip (similar to a Pentel pen) might be too thick for my tiny crease, but we'll see!

I think I may have passed by Deborah Milano's kiosk at SM Beauty before, but have just never taken notice. I had the impression that this brand catered to the mature market. This Italian brand takes beauty seriously, and it's evident in the way they package their products. The product's aren't as affordable as other drugstore brands, but they do have a nice selection of foundations. My love for matte foundation won and I chose Deborah Milano 24 Ore Perfect Foundation in 02 True Beige (P749). I picked the second shade, because the first shade had strong pink undertones. My exciting find of the day was the Deborah Milano Absolute Lasting Liquid Lipstick in 13 Light Brown (P649). It's said to be very similar to Aqua Rouge Liquid Lipstick in terms of performance and staying power, only the one from Deborah Milano costs half the price! WOW! ๐Ÿ˜—

I imagined myself only taking a few minutes per booth, but it was impossible! When I reached Flormar, almost all their foundations were gone. Good thing they still had a lot of stocks of their bestselling Flormar Illuminating Make-up Base (P699). I also got 2 shades of Flormar Deluxe Cashmere Lipstick Stylo in DC 26 Festive Burgundy and DC30 Austere Brown (P399 each).

You can try the products first before taking your pick here! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Joe of London

Entity

Romantic Collection

Last stop was the fragrances section, where we got to discover the brands Joe of London, Entity, and Romantic Collection. My picks were Joe of London EDPs in Sage and Orangy (which is said to smell like Jo Malone Orange Blossom Cologne). My bottle of Romantic Collection Hush of Blush Fragrance Mist reminds me of the cologne I used to wear during college.

You can find ALL these products at SM Beauty and Watsons! ๐Ÿ’™ Will post detailed reviews of these products soon.

Thank you, Liz, Project Vanity team, and Bhagi's International for having me! ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹

Love,
Helen
