This holiday season's fashion is festive and vibrant thanks to Freeway's National Artist Collectors' Series featuring the artworks of Vicente Manansala (National Artist for Visual Arts). The launch was held last October 18, 2011, at The Row, Glorietta 5. Fashion and art enthusiasts, media friends, bloggers, and the family and friends of Manansala all gathered to witness the special celebration of life and great works of Manansala.
After the fashion show, the very special guests Maritess Mendoza-Pineda, President of Friends of Manansala Foundation, Cedie Lopez-Vargas of the The Lopez Museum, and Ronna Manansala, granddaughter of Vicente Manansala shared their interesting stories and life experiences with man of the hour, Vicente Manansala.
I personally love Freeway x Manansala because the collection has both lively pops of colors for when you want to stand out; and muted, neutral colors for an understated but elegant look. From the frames and canvas to clothing - it is wonderful to see that the youth today who do not yet know Manansala will be introduced to his great artwork, and that they would get to appreciate and support local Filipino artists more than ever.
