It's no fun being sick. Today I was supposed to go to Binondo for work (to help out in our bodega sale), but my body just couldn't. If I went there today, I don't know if I will come home alive. LOL. I feel like a drama queen, but it's no joke. I really did not see this coming. I was just having dry cough yesterday, and now I'm stuck at home with fever, colds, and severe cough. I have our weird and crappy weather to credit for that. It's times like this that I badly miss Mr. Sun.
Thinking of what to write, and I got inspired with this idea: beauty tips for the sick! Hehe! :D
For dehydrated skin:
Hydrate and moisturize. I am guilty for drinking less than 8 glasses of water everyday, but whenever celebrities are asked for beauty tips, they just say "drink lots of water". Resolution: Drink as much water as I can. My skin gets so bad when I am sick. The sides of my nose are peeling from all the sniffles, and moisturizer comes in handy here. This one from Clinique is good for combination to oily skin.
For dull skin tone:
Whenever my skin looks so pale and uneven, tinted moisturizer always comes to the rescue.
If you want to conceal dark circles, you may use concealer for additional coverage.
For red, puffy eyes:
Instead of using the usual black eyeliner, try lining your eyes with a navy blue one. It cancels out the redness of the eyes almost instantly. I love the blues and the greens in the Dollface Cosmetic's Vanity Palette. They are so pigmented, you can also use them as eyeliner (provided you use the correct brush). However, some shades here are either a hit or miss. I'm not a fan of those orange and reddish eyeshadows because they're weird and they make me look sick even if I'm not. I think they are for creative eye looks (when you want pops of rainbow on your lids).
For chapped lips:
Lastly, do not forget to swipe on some lip balm! Our weather is so weird. A few weeks ago it was as hot as summer, and now it's raining like there is no tomorrow. Kiss those chapped lips away with your favorite lip balm.
If you want to shift the attention away from your eyes, use a bright colored lipstick instead.
Take care always, ladies! Always bring a jacket and umbrella with you so you'll be ready in case of a sudden downpour. Take care of your health so you won't get sick. Bawal magkasakit, mahal magkasakit! I learned my lesson the hard way. :P
Love,
Helen
