Sample Room Haul: I got a Uniqlo AIRism shirt for free + OOTD

Time for another Sample Room haul! I don't think I'll ever get tired of doing Sample Room haul posts. I'm always excited to receive my package in the mail even if I know what's inside, since I'm the one who ordered the free sample(s) anyway! 😂

Yup, when you register as a Sample Room member, you automatically get 100 points to shop for free samples. You only need to pay for the shipping fee. 😉

Tita tip: To make the most out of your haul, make sure that the items you will get costs more than the shipping fee para sulit.

Today's haul is all about Uniqlo (LOVE IT!!!) plus some his and hers goodies from Belo Men and Ladouce. Sample Room was sweet enough to toss in mini Celeteque samples. (Thank you!)

I have to thank my lucky stars for being able to snag a coupon from the Uniqlo Women's AIRism Collection before the stocks ran out! I'm guessing they were all gone in minutes. Sample Room was giving away 4 types of AIRism innerwears: Camisole, Sleeveless Top, Seamless Sleeveless Top, and Seamless Short Sleeve T-Shirt. Each one costs P590 in store.

I chose the Uniqlo Women's AIRism Seamless Short Sleeve T-Shirt. It comes in black, white, and beige. If you check out my closet, you'd see loads of black clothes, so you can make a wild guess which color I picked. Hehe 😁

I love wearing black, but I don't like how it absorbs so much heat on a warm, sunny day. I commute to work everyday, and I'd like to stay and feel fresh. This Uniqlo AIRism seamless black shirt is the softest, most comfortable shirt I own. It's also the first and only black shirt that feels cool on my skin. AIRism for women utilizes Cupro fiber (regenerated cellulose fiber made from cotton) which enables the fabric to absorb and release moisture under clothing. (Uniqlo did it again! 😍) This one's actually an innerwear meant to be worn under clothes, but with the right underwear, you can wear this as a normal shirt. For this purpose, I highly recommend Uniqlo Beauty Light Multi Way Wireless Bra in the nude shade. It comes in a bandeau style, and it looks invisible under clothing. It's also my fave strapless bra at the moment. 👍

Also, if you may notice what I'm holding, it's my trusty Uniqlo Pocketable Parka so I'm protected from our weird Manila weather (AKA sunny in the morning and rainy in the evening). The parka is always inside my bag since I'm such a girl scout.

I remember raving about Uniqlo's bras a few months back, and I bought a onesie for my baby niece. Everyone, meet Dione Amara! She's now 1 month old, and lookie we have a Uniqlo baby!!! 😍 I'm definitely buying here more baby dresses soon. 💖

#IAmSMWoman Driven Fashion Walk

SM Woman transformed SM Makati's third floor into a giant runway last Wednesday night! I was most excited since I pass by SM Makati on my way home from school during weekdays, and occasionally browse their new lines and collections. I was invited to the Day 2 (out of the 3 shows), which was the Driven Fashion Walk featuring classic and trendy pieces perfect for the career woman!

Prior to the fashion show, I was asked to take part in the creative styling and personalized shopping activity. I was nervous since I'm not the best when it comes to styling clothes, but SM Woman made it easy and not to mention fun!

I was given an hour to shop for a complete outfit. I shopped at GTW by SM Woman because I love their clothes!

Their size S is usually the perfect fit for my petite frame, and this dress I wore to the event was also from GTW.

Here's what I came up with! I'm happy with this minimalist look; it's now I usually dress, only fancier. Plus, it goes really well with the Driven theme.

Most of the items in my closet are in black and white, with a couple of solid colored pieces, so this show was a visual treat for me, letting me in on what items I could add to my wardrobe!

Something Blue

Early this month, my family attended a wedding of a family friend. It was my sister's sister-in-law's wedding day, and I don't know if it would be right for me to also call her sister-in-law, but yeah, we went to celebrate with her. As all brides are on their big day, she was gorgeous, blushing, and radiant! It's so nice to see people deeply in love, and I'm so inspired and happy for the couple!

The wedding and the reception was held in Hyatt Hotel in Manila, and this was my OOTD. I always get excited with special occasions because I get to wear pretty cocktail dresses.

 

I like my dresses in dark or jewel tones, because these colors look best on my pale skin. I'm not so much of a fan of light colors and pastels because they make me look washed out. I'm liking this royal blue Venus Drape Bubble Dress from Karimadon. I can wear it in many ways: one sleeve over my arm, cinched with a belt, or I can just let it loose. As you may have noticed, I'm not used to piling on big and loud accessories. I like to keep things simple.

An evening party requires a small clutch, and I am so glad that this mini clutch from Carolina Herrera is roomy enough to fit my phone, camera, oil blotting sheets, and lipstick!

I'm also wearing my comfy heels from Naturalizer. This pair is a lifesaver as it fits almost any of my outfits - from day to night. I leave it in my office locker sometimes, so I can wear flats en route to the office, and just slip into this pair of heels for when I arrive.

I'm loving how the couple veered away from traditional color motifs for their theme. The gowns of the flower girls were pink with black accents, and their wedding cake is in peach and black. Never knew a black cake would also look nice. :)

Denim & Pleats

My sisters and I went to Trinoma today as our usual Sunday ritual of eating and shopping - things we do best. To make my day productive, I had to force her to take pictures of my outfit shot! I looked awkward in the photos, and I know I need more practice. Someone please teach me how to pose. Haha! :D

If you take a peek into my closet, you'd see so many blacks and neutrals, and maybe some red and corals as pops of colors. My sister noticed that I am leaning more to the ROY (red, orange, yellow) color spectrum, and she's the BIV (blue, indigo, violet). Which means that for this post, I am wearing her top and skirt! (Thanks, Cindy!)

Veloci Cruise in White

I'm a fan of that classic look, which reflects in my choices of accessories. My new watch is from the Veloci Cruise Collection. Veloci is a new Italian-inspired, imported watch brand made from high grade stainless steel and top quality Japanese movement. I chose the white one since I am loving the clean look, plus the face of the white Veloci watch comes in silver, which means that it would go well with ANY color of watch strap! It's very stylish and practical as well.

I'm loving the modern-vintage vibe of this watch, and the fact that each set comes with 2 NATO nylon watch straps from Asprey. I can use the other straps to come up with an entirely different look. It's amazing! Veloci is available at ASPREY stores and selected L TIMESTUDIO and TIME GEAR boutiques.

OOTD: Forest Flower

If you know me personally, you'd know that I am not fond of wearing jeans, pants, slacks, or any kind of long bottoms for the main reason that they emphasize my skinny legs. At work, I live in pencil skirts (in the sea of slacks). During the weekend, you'd see me in dresses or shorts. It's been ages since my last outfit post, and now I'm sharing with you what I wore to The Body Shop's Pulse Event.

What I am wearing isn't really a dress - it's a bra camisole tunic from Uniqlo. It's supposed to be worn with leggings (as displayed in the store's mannequins). Since their mannequins are tall and I am not, this one is converted by yours truly into a mini dress! (By the way, Iza Calzado has the same tunic in purple!)

Uniqlo has this basics line called Bra Top, which gives complete comfort and support, no bra required! (Don't worry though, because it has a built-in bra inside.) The fabric of the Bra Top is soft, quick-dry, and breathable, so it's perfect for the Philippine weather. The Bra Top comes in 3 forms - tanks, camisoles, and tunics. I like this range so much that I have 2 camisoles (in pink and black) in my closet aside from this tunic. The camisoles look like regular spaghetti-strapped tops, but I look more curvy and less skinny in it (compared to regular camisoles) so it's a winner!

Belle de Jour Rendezvous: Believe. Dare. Become.

My weekend was well spent with fellow Bellas in the Belle de Jour Rendezvous: Believe. Dare. Become. held at Ace Water Spa, Pasig just this afternoon. It was an day of fun, games, learning, generous raffle prizes, and sumptuous food! I've been a Bella for 4 years now (as I started being a BDJ girl in 2009), and for me, BDJ is not just a planner, it has become a lifestyle. I get to meet so many new friends in their events, and each BDJ Rendezvous is always a fun one. (If you haven't gone to a Belle de Jour Rendezvous before, make sure to attend the next one!)

Three speakers were invited in the event, and the topics covered fashion and beauty, work-life balance, and the secrets to feeling great and confident about ourselves.

 

Cielo Fontreras

The first speaker was Cielo Fontreras, Makeup Artist and Accessory Designer. She talked about the hot (and not) fashion and makeup trends for 2012.

Ginny Gonzales

The second speaker, Ginny Gonzales, is a Personality Development Instructor from John Robert Powers. She's very pretty! She taught us suggestions on how to achieve work-life balance.

Sarah Ramos

The third speaker was Sarah Ramos, who's into Consulting and is a Life Coach. She gave us get confident tips and made us all feel amazing.

During the break, we had a buffet of yummy food from Bizu and Ace Water Spa. There was a Bizu macaron tower (which was so lovely).

We were served pasta, buffalo wings, sandwiches, brownies, and iced tea. All those food equals to a happy tummy!

There were also loads of raffle prizes from BDJ's partner brands. This adorable little bunny was also part of the raffle. Too bad I didn't get to take it home with me. Cute cute bunny. :3

And of course, the day wouldn't be complete without taking pictures with fellow Bellas! I missed bonding my BDJ friends, especially Lala, Alpha, and Ria! (Tayo na ang veterans!) I got to meet lots of new faces as well.

And to end this post, here's an outfit shot. I chose a pastel colored outfit since it was a daytime event. I wore a peach colored peter pan collared top, a white belt with gold studs, white shorts, and mocha colored flats. Very girly lang ang peg!
