It's a lazy Sunday and yet again, I am typing away about the one thing I love most: makeup! Today, I'll share with you a product that I have been using for a couple of months. I've shown you my lazy day makeup before, but on the days that I feel like I need more coverage and want to look more polished, I use liquid foundation. Since Maybelline relaunched their mineral makeup line, I got their Pure Liquid Mineral Healthy Natural Liquid Foundation in Beige Ochre 01 (BO1).
About the product:
Ingredients:
While I love the idea of healthy makeup, I don't like it when cosmetic companies claim they're free from preservatives when they really do. It's a given fact that liquid foundations (or any type of liquid cosmetic) would spoil easily without chemical preservatives. This product contained 5 parabens: Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, and Isobutylparaben.
Packaging:
This liquid foundation was housed in a plastic box (which I did not take a picture of anymore). The packaging of the foundation is made of tall and sleek glass with a pump applicator. (Plus points for being hygienic.) It also does not spill no matter how this will tumble in your kikay kit. I actually like this packaging better than the previous one (where you squeeze out the product from a plastic tube), because I feel that the glass keeps the product fresher for a longer period of time. Plus it looks nicer, too.
The shade I got was Beige Ochre 01, which was the lightest among 4 shades available (BO1, BO2, OC3, OC4). The reason why I did not bother getting the BO2 shade was because the previous Angelfit foundation I bought was BO2 and it was a bit dark for my skin tone. With BO1, I felt that my skin looked more glowing and fresh.
This foundation gives a light to medium coverage with radiant finish, which I think would be ideal for those with dry or normal skin. I have oily skin so my face would be shiny by mid-day or once I started to sweat. No problem though, because I can always bot or top this with pressed powder. (On some days I do, on some days I just wear it alone, especially when it's not really hot outside.) Without makeup, my skin looks pinkish and a bit blotchy because of post-acne marks, and this foundation really does its job of evening out my skintone and cancelling out the redness. For dark circles, this won't be enough though, you'll still have to use concealer.
So far, I'm liking this better than my Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream. I find that this foundation does not give off a white cast when taken with flash photography even if it has SPF 18 PA+++. For best results, use a foundation brush when applying this foundation. I've tried applying this product with fingers and blending it, but I liked the result better when a brush is used.
Price: P499.00 for 25ml (I got this on sale for just P349.00.)

ReplyDeleteAww thanks, Rose! ♥
DeleteI wanna buy one. Are they still on sale? Where dear?
ReplyDeleteI bought this during the 30% off sale last December. I don't think this is on sale now, but don't worry as Maybelline holds regular sales every now and then (during mallwide sales, etc.).
DeleteOkay dear. I will wait for sale period. I know my stingy self can only hoard during sales. Haha!
DeleteVisiting through PB now :)
Likewise. I buy only when there's a sale. Haha!
Deleteoh i havent tried their foundation but i guess it should be good cause their bb cream was remarkable. :D im getting color tattoos soon so im super excited for that!
ReplyDeleteI hope they bring here the color tattoos and the bouncy blush! I saw them from Youtube gurus and I want to have them as well! So far, I'm liking this better than the BB Cream and the Clear Smooth Aqua Gel Foundation. :)
DeleteGanda naman ni Helen! Love love the FOTD! :D
ReplyDeleteInteresting product! I've only started hunting for HG foundations, will check this one out! :D
Thank you, Janine! :D Get it when it's on sale para sulit! :)
Deleteaw u look pretty ... I want one.. imma buy one soon lol sana I can find one later in megamall :D
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope the products works out well for you too! :)
DeleteI think I need this now. I have lots of pimples. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI have them too. :(( Thank God for foundation.
Deletemmh.. i ve been reading good reviews about maybelline should try one!! and just bought a whole lot of product from revlon last week! geez! xx
ReplyDeleteAko naman lots of Maybelline stuff. Not much Revlon because they're quite pricey. :D
DeleteLooks like a decent foundation naman. Have to try! :D
ReplyDeleteYup, it's an okay foundation. Not the best but certainly not bad at all. :)
DeleteNice, I'll consider this if I ever get into using foundation regularly. :D It looks great on you. I tried their Clear Smooth BB cream but it didn't match my skin undertones at all, hehe.
ReplyDeleteYes, they have 4 shades of this foundation, it might suit you better than the BB Cream which only has 2 shades. :)
DeleteBB creams are pretty talaga.. I use B.B Cream Maybelline NY Clear Smooth too. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice BB Cream, one of the most affordable in the market. :)
DeleteHmm.. I wish that you had also posted a before and after shot with only the featured product on. :l
ReplyDeleteMaybe for my next review, because what I posted was an FOTD, not a swatch. You may search other blogs if you want to see the swatch alone.
DeleteI am currently using other brand right now. Will try that one looks good. Btw, you look pretty in your picture there :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. Which brand are you using now? :)
DeleteDoes anyone have any idea where I can get some of this "nude" is the colour, as they have discontinued it and boots does not have any. I stay in edinburgh.
ReplyDeleteHere in the Philippines we only have 4 shades, which are BO1, BO2, OC3, and OC4.
