Haul: Landmark | Penshoppe | Bayo

If you take a peek into my closet, you'd see lots of black clothes - LBDs, skirts, pants, and tops. I know I should add more pops of color into my clothes, but whenever I go shopping, I get attracted to black clothes because they look classier, effortlessly stylish, and they make me look fairer. :D I'll share with you some stuff I got from Landmark, Penshoppe, and Bayo.

For current fashion trends (which you aren't sure will last through seasons or years) like peplums and corsets, I think it's okay to go for affordable pieces, since I think they're fun additions to one's closet. Whenever I find a dress that fits me perfectly, I'd buy it, even if it were from the bazaar or from a high-end brand. Luckily, I got mine for cheap at Landmark!

Landmark Peplum Dress

This is the first peplum dress I found that fitted me perfectly, despite it being free-sized. It's actually a one-piece dress, with the striped skirt attached to the peplum top. Since it's short, I like that I can layer another skirt over it to change the look of the dress.

Landmark Polka Dot Corset

I've been searching for a corset that would fit me (meaning it's not too loose), and I can't believe that I found lots of them in Landmark! I love the convenience of corsets - it adds shape (and curves) to your body, plus there's no need for a separate bra since it's already built into the top.

Oxblood Skinny Jeans from Penshoppe

To add life to my closet, I got this pair of oxblood skinny jeans from Penshoppe. I'm currently loving their "Fling" Skinny Jeans line - it's low rise, regular hipster, low-waist, with tapered leg openings. Plus, only their Fling line's smallest size (25 inches) fits me PERFECTLY; jeans from their other styles are too loose for me, so this one becomes my favorite by default. Looks like I'll be visiting Penshoppe more often to be on the lookout for the newest styles from their Fling line.

I love how this color adds a special touch to my plain and neutral colored tops - just like my corset (above) and my shirt (below).

Gray V-Neck Shirt and Black High-Waisted Shorts from Bayo

I personally think Bayo's sizing is too big, even most of their clothes in XS are loose for me. But then, I found these comfy basics and just had to get them. I love this soft, super comfy body skimming (not fitting) gray v-neck shirt and I wish I had gotten it in other colors, but the choices were kind of limited too - no brights, just black, white, and blue (if I remember it correctly). The black high-waist shorts I kind of regret getting, since I still need a belt for it to "stay" on my waist.

Hair Clip from Landmark

Lastly, I grabbed this matte brown clip from Landmark. This also comes in other bright colors with glossy finish, but I'm after a timeless look, so I got one in brown to match my colored hair. Clips like this one are actually the secret to my wavy hair. Nah! My hair is just really wavy/curly, but what I do is that I clip my hair into a bun during my morning commute, so I won't end up with smelly, mahangin ba sa labas? hair. Upon reaching my workplace, I head to the restroom and unravel my still-damp hair, and just let it air dry while working. I don't comb it, and it almost always ends up with a curly finish, which I love. I used to hate my waves and always fought it by rebonding and ironing it straight, but not anymore.

Looks like I got carried away with the clip and hair story. Haha! To my wavy-haired readers, embrace your curls! I hope you all liked my simple haul. ;)

Helen

Sample Room Loot #1: Celeteque & Dove

Sample box subscriptions like (Glamourbox, BDJ Box, and Saladbox) have invaded local beauty blogs late last year. Most of them offer a certain number of sample products for about P500.00 a month. While the excitement of not knowing what you'd get is present, it is inevitable that you'd receive product misses along with the stuff you'd like. Worse, a sample box would be a letdown, containing products that you don't need and won't ever use.

Sample Room
Try Before You Buy

Sample Room is a practical beauty junkie's dream. All you have to do is register over at sampleroom.ph, and you automatically get 100 points. You can use these points to purchase up to 3 product samples, which will be sent to your doorsteps for just a minimal fee (depending on the weight of the package and the location of the address). The only catch is that the products run out fast as soon as they're restocked, so you have to keep visiting their website for updates. As for the customer service, they're pretty awesome and efficient. I paid for my products last December 17, 2012, and received the package on December 19, 2012.

As of now, points aren't for sale. You can earn back the points you spent by making substantial and honest reviews of the products you got over at their site. You can also earn 1 point per friend referred.

My First Sample Room Loot

Here's my first ever Sample Room loot, with products from Celeteque and Dove. I absolutely loved that Celeteque and Dove gave away FULL-SIZED products!

Celeteque DermoScience Brightening Eye Tuck plus Dark Circles Lightener (35 points)
Price: P299.00 (15ml)

I wanted a new eye cream to add to my skincare routine, and I was actually waiting for Sample Room to restock this item before I picked out my samples. I'm so glad they did.

Céleteque DermoScience Restorative Ultra-Lifting Concentrated Serum (60 points)
Price: P899.00 (30ml)

I'm curious about serums and I thought that maybe this could work also as a night moisturizer/treatment.

Dove White Beauty Bar Soap (5 points)
Price: P25.00 (50g)

I'm no stranger to Dove Beauty Bars. I've used it since I were a baby, and now's the perfect time to finally review it.

I used up all my 100 points and got these 3 items. These 3 products cost  P1223.00, but I got these for free and only paid P100.00 for shipping. With Sample Room, you get what you want, with no surprises!

I'm on the process of testing these out, and as much as I want to get more samples, I don't want to rush my reviews just to earn back my points. I'll be posting my reviews on these products over at sampleroom.ph, so do watch out for that!

Krispy Kreme 2013 Calendar (With Awesome Freebies Inside!)

Happy new year, everyone! I hope 2013 brings in loads of awesome moments for all of us.

Another year, another calendar! I've never been this excited with buying and changing my old calendars at home until I got the super awesome Krispy Kreme 2012 Calendar last year. I could simply attest that it's the most sulit calendar I have ever got.

Krispy Kreme once again spreads the joy all year round with their new 2013 calendar! Same price, same perks, but with a better design! Just a look at the cover is enough to let you know that it's going to be a yummy year ahead.

Krispy Kreme 2013 Calendar (P150.00)

It comes with over P1,000.00 worth of coupons, no purchase required (upon redemption). So if the coupon says you get a free doughnut, you get one for free, no questions asked (aside from the flavor you want).

Again, it's like paying just P12.50 a month for all these sweet treats!

This desk calendar has a monthly view, and the coupons are below each page. For example, you get a free featured coffee and a free featured doughnut for January. I like that you can jot down events, birthdays, and reminders on the daily boxes for the monthly view.

Behind each monthly view is a super tempting picture of either Krispy Kreme or their sweet treats, like this drizzled heart doughnut. It's the ultimate desk candy, I tell you!

What are you waiting for? Run to the nearest Krispy Kreme store and buy a 2013 calendar for yourself (and some for your family and friends), because I am sure, they'll be sold out before you know it!

Love,
Helen
