I've read a lot about Myra VitaGlow Tinted Moisturizer before - it's either you love it as it has won beauty awards in the past or hate it since some say it makes you look like a glitter bomb. While I didn't get the chance to try it before it became discontinued, Myra sent me their newest product: Myra VitaGlow BB Cream. I think this is the reformulated and improved version of their tinted moisturizer.
Myra VitaGlow BB Cream in Ivory & Beige
with Minerals | SPF 15
Each tube is sealed for your protection, and the manufacturing and expiry dates are printed on the side.
I'm really liking the simple but compact packaging - it's perfect for travel!
About the product:
- Gives a hint of color - Evens out skin tone with a natural coverage
- Contains minerals and Vitamin E - To help keep skin soft, healthy and young-looking
- With SPF 15 - To protect skin against the sun's harmful rays
Ingredients:
Swatches:
Ivory | Beige
Myra VitaGlow BB Cream comes in 2 shades: Ivory (yellow-toned) and Beige (pink-toned). On my arm you'd see the difference, but when applied on the face, both shades look similar. On my hand (but not really quite visible in these photos), I'd see visible shimmer specks, but on the face it gives a nice glow (that's not really glittery).
Since I'm fair-skinned, Ivory is the closest match for my skin.
When Worn:
Before (bare-faced)
After (with Myra VitaGlow BB Cream)
The coverage of this BB cream is sheer - almost just like tinted moisturizer. It has a creamy texture, but it doesn't feel heavy at all. It's able to brighten up my skin tone, but it doesn't cover the imperfections and dark circles.
Pros:
- It's very affordable at P99.00 a pop.
- It's compact and travel-friendly.
- It works as a tinted moisturizer, makeup base, and even as a liquid highlighter.
- It brightens the skin with its shimmers, but it doesn't look glittery.
- It makes my skin look more even without looking like I have makeup on.
- It has Vitamin E to moisturize the skin.
- It has SPF 15 to protect the skin from the sun.
- It's hypoallergenic.
- It didn't cause me breakouts or skin irritations.
Cons:
- It has a very sheer coverage.
- It's not buildable - even with several layers it still looks sheer.
- It doesn't cover imperfections and dark circles.
- It has no oil control.
Neutral:
- It smells like lotion, but the scent goes away in a few minutes.
- Some might not like the shimmery finish.
Tips (to make the BB cream last longer on the face, especially those with oily skin):
- For a natural, no-makeup finish, apply a loose translucent powder to set the BB cream. (Try Snoe Poudre Phenomenon Pore Erasing HD Powder.)
- For more coverage and a more polished look, apply loose mineral powder foundation over it. (Try Ellana Loose Mineral Powder Foundation, my personal favorite!)
Price: P99.00 for 20ml
