Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Off Beat Pink

At last, my very first matte lipstick! Since my sister had 2 tubes of this same lipstick, she gave one to me! Lipsticks are part of my "save" (and not "spend") category when it comes to shopping for makeup, so I'm fine with using any brand as long as it works. Ever Bilena is a local brand, but it sure does not disappoint! In fact, I'm liking this lipstick so much that I'm planning to get more. A matte red lipstick sounds good!

Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Off Beat Pink

The packaging does not look cheap at all. But when you hold it, it feels lighter than the rest of the lipsticks in my kit. The pink part of the cap shows the shade, but it's not accurate since the color inside is different. (It reminds me of my NYX Round Lipsticks, only NYX has the color at the bottom of the tube.

About the product:

Ingredients:

The box also includes the manufacturing date.

On the tube, it looks a bit like a pale, cool pink lipstick.

I got curious so I opened the pink part of the cap. It's not lipstick though.

Swatch

The first time I used this lipstick, I though that it was the driest, hardest lipstick I have ever used. It does not glide on my lips at all! Then my sister told me to rub the tip of the lipstick first at the back of my hand to warm the product and make it softer. I tried it, and it worked! The lipstick now has a smoother glide, and I'm loving the beautiful color payoff! It looks a lot brighter and lovelier when worn compared to the color of the product on the tube. Somehow, it looks like an expensive lipstick with its matte finish. For its staying power, the lipstick lasted half a day for my lips. My lips do not easily chap, so I do not use lip balm under this lipstick on normal days. But on bad lip days (Is there such a thing?) when my lips feel drier than usual, I use my lip balm and blot it with a tissue before applying my lipstick, so the lipstick won't look glossy.

Looks like I have a new favorite lipstick. I'll be getting one in red soon. Which shade of Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick do you recommend? :)

Love,
Helen

  1. I love EB matte lipsticks! Although there's a tendency they would spoil easily, ok lang cause they're so cheap! Try the reds! super nice! :D

  6. EB's matte lipsticks are definitely love! I only have one tube but I can say it's long-lasting. I tried to swim while wearing it (just to test if it can indeed last ;)). The "Storm" shade is nice, just the perfect combination of noticeable but still subtle red.

  7. @jenponix: My sister said I should change the name of my blog to "The Lipstick Swatcher". Haha! Sure I will! That's exciting. :D

    @Nin: Ooh I saw Scarlet too, it's so bright - a popping red-orange shade! <3

@Mar: Thank you. :) Please do! They're totally worth it, each costs below P150!

@Eunice: Wow, I'll try swimming with this too. Haha. Thanks for the recommendation, I will definitely keep that in mind!

  10. I also have this lipstick! But when I discovered Pink Flame, I liked it better :) But maybe it's more of a preference than actually saying something about the quality of the product. I also blogged about their scarlet matte lipstick, which is my favorite. I am also currently using Love That Red- that's a good one too if you love wearing red lipstick!

    1. My sister has Love That Red, and it's a beautiful blueish red shade. :D My personal bias with red lipstick thinks that Scarlet and Love That Red are the prettiest among EB's matte lipstick range.

  11. Can you use the bottom part of the Lippie?

    1. Nope, it's something like jelly or silicone. For other shades, the bottom part of the lippie is real lipstick.

  12. Hi :) I'm 16yrs old and I'm using Maybelline baby lips(lip balm). But I'm entering college world this June(just excited haha) and I want to have a pink lipstick just to add a pink color on my lips. Which one will you recommend the BABY CHIC from fashion 21 pink obsession or the OFF BEAT PINK from ever bilena .
Those two are both affordable for a student like me but I can't buy the both. So can you help me to pick :)

  13. I got the same shade :) just a few hours ago. Since there's no fashion 21 in watsons here in robinsons montalban(only ever bilena and careline. I guess) I got this off beat pink from ever bilena. I think I can wear this everyday.
Your review is very helpful :)

    1. Hi Jelica! Sorry for the overdue reply. Congrats on starting college. Finally, it's legal to wear makeup. Haha :)

This one's a nice pink lipstick for starters. Just keep a lip balm handy for when the aircon dries up your lips.
