PAC Make Up Competition 2014

The steep competition among the many brands in the beauty industry has driven Indonesian cosmetics brand PAC (Professional Artist Cosmetic Martha Tilaar) to produce innovative and unique products that makeup artists and regular girls love. 

This year, PAC is proud to be part of Cosmetologie 2014, an event organized by the Philippine International Cosmetologists Association (PICA) headed by Lourd Ramos and PEPGroup, to present the much awaited:

PAC MAKE UP COMPETITION 2014

In this competition, PAC is choosing the best make-up artists to represent the Philippines in the International Make Up Competition, to be held in Jakarta Indonesia this October 2014.

The competition is open to all make-up artists without brand affiliation, ages 18 and above. Interested make-up artists must submit a completed application form, full page A4 photo of a bridal and avant garde look with a short description of the theme, inspiration and medium used, sealed in a brown envelope. Application forms are available in all PAC outlets nationwide and on Facebook. Entries may be sent personally or couriered to the PAC Head Office located at the ground floor of TAO Corporate Center 2291 Chino Roces Extension, Makati City. Entries may also be dropped off in any PAC outlet in Metro Manila. Photos submitted must not be edited, tampered with or photoshopped.

Deadline of entries is on May 15, 2014. Announcement of 20 qualifiers will be posted on May 18, 2014 through an online announcement.

Qualifiers will be invited to attend an exclusive make up training and workshop on May 26, 2014 with Yuan Sng, an internationally renowned make-up artist from Singapore and a guest judge on Asia’s Next Top Model.

The 20 qualifiers will battle it out on May 27, 2014 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City, wherein only three (3) will be chosen to be part of the PAC Philippine Team. The 3 winners will be awarded an all-expense paid trip to Jakarta, Indonesia and will compete against top make-up artists in the region.

In addition to the excitement of the competition, PAC is also proud to confirm the attendance of international make-up artist and guest judge of Asia’s Next Top Model, YUAN SNG. Yuan is scheduled to hold a workshop to all Cosmetologie 2014 attendees on avant garde make-up application, using PAC Cosmetics. He is also one of the judges for the PAC competition, happening on the same day.

Haul: BDJ Box Beauty Social Tres Chic Loot

I love BDJ. I carry with me my BDJ planner everyday and make it a point to attend their BDJ Rendezvous events whenever it fits my schedule. (Oh, there will be another one this April 12!) Though I haven't subscribed to any beauty box subscription (my friend Tellie would gasp at this statement, as she is the reigning Subscription Boxes Queen), I think the BDJ Box is one of the best beauty boxes to subscribe to, based on what I see online.

Last March 23, BDJ Box hosted another Beauty Social event which goes by the theme Tres Chic. The event was held at the Samsung Hall in SM Aura. If you knew me personally, you'd know that I avoid events at Taguig and all further South areas like plague just because I'm a lazy girl who lives in the North. But then, since its a BDJ Box Beauty Social, I just had to go. I went with my kikay colleagues and blogger friends to bond over girly stuff, which was so much fun! :D

Like all beauty fairs, there were booths featuring a wide variety of brands that will let you experience their products and services. Some gave away samples, while some even gave full-sized products! In events like these, you have to brave - be very brave as you visit every single booth. (Kidding, you just have to roam around the booths while there's an ongoing talk so there will be less people falling in line.)

Now, I shall present to you my haul from the day. I'm not used to doing unboxings, so this one will be an "unbagging" post! :p

At the Canmake booth, you can Like Canmake Philippines on Facebook and pick a prize. They gave away free makeovers and full-sized products, and I was so lucky to not pick the "thank you for liking Canmake on FB" paper. I got this super cute blush instead! ♥

I LOVE these! I'm a huge fan of the Acne Solutions range, especially the Acne Clearing Facial Moisturizer Gel, so I was so happy to see these inside the loot bag. I've actually shared some of these to my friends, hoping it will work for them, too!

Max Factor Whipped Creme Foundation Sample

The only talk I attended was from Max Factor, and they did it Oprah-style by giving everyone a sample of their latest product which will be launched just this month. Like Max Factor Philippines on FB, as they'll be giving away 50 of these babies soon!

My Amazing Blow Dry Secret Shampoo Sample

I got this for liking the FB page of My Amazing Blow Dry Secret. My sample lasted me several days, and this one really works even if I just air-dry my hair! The full-sized one is too pricey though. >.<

I've tried the SPF 50 variant of this one before and I loved it! I bet I'll like this one, too. This one's from the loot bag as well.

Too Cool For School's booth had a cute vending machine, wherein you can get 3 samples when you pay P3.00. Not bad, actually. I'm excited to try the Pumpkin Sleeping Pack. The voucher I got from the loot bag, wherein I can get a free Marshmallow Puff for when I make a P1,000.00 purchase in their stores.

Yves Rocher Samples

There was an activity from the Yves Rocher booth wherein you'd have to post a photo of yourself on FB or IG with the hashtag #YvesRocher, and then you get to pick a prize. (I don't think I'll ever get tired of pick-a-prize, since I consider myself lucky.) I got the deluxe sample size version of their intensive slimming cream, which I will use solely on my tummy. One sachet of the Naturelle EDT was from the booth, while the other one was from the loot bag. :D

PAC Glossy Lipstick in Dear Rose

I'm guilty of not giving nude lipstick much attention. One time, my sister came home from a salon with her makeup done professionally. I loved her smoky eyes-nude lips look, and when she asked me if I had a lipstick she could bring with her to retouch, I searched my kit and picked up this one from PAC.

To cut the long story short, she became a convert that night. From pink lipstick, she's now into nude lipstick, all because of PAC Glossy Lipstick in Dear Rose!

PAC's lipstick comes in a sleek, matte black tube.

The shade name is indicated on the base of the tube.

Like all PAC product are, this lipstick is very pigmented! With just one swipe, it already has the power to liven up either pale or pigmented lips.

According to PAC, this lipstick is classified as glossy, but it gives more of a creamy finish and I like it better this way. You will be able to cover the actual color of the lips with just a few coats, and this works even for those with dark, pigmented lips. The result is a pretty nude shade that doesn't look pale, even on fair skin.

PAC Powder Eye Shadow in No. 06

My first encounter with PAC was when I attended the PAC Liquid Eyeliner Challenge event this year. We had the chance to try out their products through a makeup workshop, and I was instantly impressed with the superb pigmentation of their products.

To give you a brief background, PAC (or Professional Artist Cosmetic Martha Tilaar) is an Indonesian makeup brand created in August 1997 by Dr. Martha Tilaar to fulfill the needs of professional make-up artists - starting from stage make-up, to bridal, and high fashion. Each product is crafted with high quality, and is waterproof and long-lasting. The products have vibrant and bold shades that complements Asian skin.

PAC Powder Eye Shadows are intense loose eyeshadow pigments that come in stackable pots, which is very ideal for makeup artists since it saves space!

The one I have is No. 06, which is a shimmery white shade.

A little goes a long way with this product.

With just one swipe, I was able to achieve this level of pigmentation!

Blended

PAC Powder Eye Shadow in No. 06 is a lovely shade of shimmery white that would work great as a highlighter for the inner corners of the eyes. The trick with this product is to use sparingly, using a brush when you want to apply it on the inner V of the eyes, or simply using your fingers when you're applying this product on the entire lid.

• A little goes a long way

• Messy to apply (due to its loose form)

Tips:

• Use your fingers to apply this on the lids for a more pigmented effect.
• Use a brush to apply this on the inner corners of the eyes for more precision.
• This doubles as a white eyeliner! Use an eyeliner brush to apply this on the lower waterline. It's waterproof, so it won't smudge.

Will I repurchase? I like it, but I don't think I can ever finish this pot, so no. Lazy me also prefers eye shadows in pressed powder form.

PAC Liquid Eyeliner Challenge @ Vanity Beauty Bar & Patisserie

I bet we all love pampering ourselves once in a while. A trip to Vanity Beauty Bar and Patisserie would surely give you a unique beauty experience. It's definitely not your ordinary nail spa. I went here early this month for the PAC Liquid Eyeliner Challenge event together with some beauty blogger friends.

Vanity Beauty Bar and Patisserie is conveniently located in the 3/F of Il Terrazzo in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. They offer nail, wax, and blow-dry services, plus delectable pasties, smoothies, TWG teas, and even cocktails! Definitely a nice place to bond with your girl friends.

The interiors of this place are definitely nice and posh.

Here are just some of the few nail polish shades they have. They carry brands such as Orly, OPI, China Glaze, MAC, and Chanel.

They serve desserts like pastries and cupcakes, that goes perfect with your cup of TWG tea.

Everyone who went that day got a bar of dark chocolate with peppermint or chili from Vanity Beauty Bar and Patisserie!

The star of the event was PAC's newest product, the PAC Eyeliner Liquid. These eyeliners also dry fast, and are long lasting, indeed. No amount of rubbing can make them come off, as they only come off with oil-based makeup removers at the end of the day.

There was also a part where we were given a chance to try their eyeliners and compete for the most creative look. Since I'm bad with eyeliners, I was happy when Earth was looking for a willing subject for a mini-makeover.
