I used to shun mineral makeup because I find loose powder messy and hard to work with. Used to, until Ellana Minerals launched their pressed mineral powder makeup which piqued my interest and teased me to no end. Yes, I just had to give mineral makeup a try this time around.
Pink blush will always be my first (blush) love, hence I chose this shade named Flirtation/Fetish for the pressed blush duo.
First of all, I adore the design of packaging. The illustration by Soleil Ignacio is just beautiful.♥
At the back are the product descriptions and ingredients.
It comes with a mirror and a secure magnetic closure. The packaging is made of cardboard, so its lightweight.
And here are the two lovely complementing shades of blush! Flirtation (left) is a bright strawberry pink shade with a sheer matte finish, while Fetish (right) is a cotton candy pink shade with sheer shimmer.
Swatches:
Flirtation | Fetish
Texture wise, they don't feel super smooth and velvety on the pan when I swatched these. But then, see how awesomely pigmented they are?
When worn:
Festish
I initially thought that Fetish could only work as a highlighting shade since it looked so sheer on the pan. When I tried wearing it alone, it worked! The shimmers weren't too obvious or glittery at all, and it just have me that lit from within glow. The shade is just so soft and natural!
Flirtation
I tried layering on the shade Flirtation, which gave me a super blooming flush. This shade brightens my face instantly, and gives me the sweetest looking cheeks. :3
I tried using a regular blush brush and a powder blush to apply these, but I got the best results when I used a flat top brush (which I got from Landmark).
Price: P450.00
- Available at Ellana's website and The Ramp (Trinoma, Shangri-La, and Glorietta 3)
- My tip for you is to order online, so you can get to avail the free sample set together with your order. (More products to try!) But you can always drop by their counters at The Ramp or at the Ellana showroom in Makati if you prefer to swatch the products first.
For me, Ellana Pressed Mineral Blush Duo is good value for money since you get 2 super pigmented blush shades (that are skin-friendly to boot) at a very affordable price. I'm eyeing the shade Obsession/Fulfillment next!
