NYX Round Lipstick in Rose

I love bright lipsticks and I'm not a big fan of nudes. If you check out my stash, you'd see bright colors of pinks and reds that makes my lips stand out against my complexion. Here's another swatch of a NYX Round Lipstick, in the shade of Rose.

Rose is a bright red/pink shade with a coral tint. I love bright lipsticks so seeing this on the tube, it's pretty color and all drew me in. It's bright but for some reason, it does not look good on my fair skin. It pops but I feel that it does not look right on me, like it's a bit awkwardly bright. As with the lasting power, it's the same as all NYX Round Lipsticks. It does not last very long and is easily removed, so you'd have to reapply frequently.

DIY: Tinted Lip Balms

When I am bored, I sometimes like pretending to be a chemist or a scientist and mix stuff to see if I could come up with something new. One afternoon, I decided to make my own tinted lip balms! I used the same method as my previous DIY (Save My Lipstick).

What you need are your old lippies, or those you barely use anymore (and therefore needs attention), so it wouldn't hurt as much when you finally scoop out the products from the case. I used my Allue Creamy Lip Color palettes, my sister's broken NYX lipstick, and my Carmex lip balm for this.

To do this, you'd have to mix some lipstick and lip balm on a metal spoon and place it over a candle so the mixture would melt. (See my complete tutorial here.) The more lipstick you put, the more pigmented the tint would be, of course. Once it turns to liquid, you can then pour it over your desired container. (I get my cutesy little pots from Landmark.) Let it cool for about 30 minutes, and you're done!

My DIY tinted lip balms!

I'm so proud of these! My first one wherein I saved my lipstick didn't look as nice as these. The Carmex lip balm in this mixture still tingles when applied on the lips. (Good thing the heat did not make it disappear!) The pink one on the left is mostly NYX + Carmex + Allue. The red one was mostly Allue + Carmex (which yielded to a pigmented, soft-textured, glossy red lippie).

NYX Round Lipstick in Doll

Who wants to sport sweet, Doll-like lips? I know I do! Back when I was a kid, I liked putting on makeup on my dolls with colored pens and markers. Here's another swatch of NYX Round Lipstick from my sister's makeup stash.

On the tube, it looked like a common shade, but I love, love, love how it looked like when worn!

NYX Round Lipstick in Tea Rose

Another day, another lippie swatch! Here's a natural but oh-so-pretty shade: NYX Round Lipstick in Tea Rose.

Tea Rose is so lovely and perfect for everyday wear. If I had to sport lipstick in a natural shade, this would definitely be my pick! It's more pink and girly than Minimalism (which is a neutral shade).

NYX Round Lipstick in Minimalism

Today I'll share with you a very neutral, office-friendly, but not quite me lippie. It's NYX Round Lipstick in Minimalism. I never see myself rocking brown or neutral hues, but since I got curious on how it would look on me, now we got a swatch!

This is what some might call a MLBB (My Lips But Better) shade. It looks like my lips, only darker by a shade or two. I don't like it so much; I get bored by its color. Haha. How about you, love it or leave it?

NYX Round Lipstick in Chic Red

My sister (who is a beauty enthusiast like me) owns more lipsticks than I do. She let me swatch them so I could share it with all of you! All of you might be familiar with NYX Round Lipsticks, which has gotten loads of rave reviews for its pigment and creamy factor. My first one is in Paris, and I'm sure it won't be my last! For now, I'll share with you swatches of a very pretty red lipstick - NYX Round Lipstick in Chic Red. (I won't be reviewing this anymore since I have already did that for Paris, which you can read here.)

Chic Red a very pigmented blue-based red lipstick.

One coat

(I just put some on my upper lips, pressed them together, and used my pinky to even it out.)

NYX Round Lipstick in Paris

Ever since I was a kid, I was already fascinated with lipstick. I would watch my mom put on lipstick, and she would instantly look more beautiful! I wanted to try it out myself. I used lip tint and glosses in college because I wanted the natural no-fuss look. After college, I went through the phase of red lipstick, declaring it as my color. (Even now, I still love red lipstick.) I just did not see pink as stunning for my skin tone - and I was mistaken! When I got hold of my very first NYX Round Lipstick in Paris (many thanks to Lady E when I met her at the Hyphen booth), I fell in love with pink all over again. This pink is not your ordinary pink lipstick. I'm a big fan of lipsticks that literally pop against my skin tone. :D

Pros:

• It is very creamy.
• It is very pigmented; it can totally cover your real lip color.
• It is not drying.
• It does not feel heavy on your lips.
• Its staying power is average. It leaves a hint of pink tint on your lips even after eating and drinking.
• Best part of all, it is cheap! :D

Cons:

• The color at the bottom of the lipstick packaging is nowhere near its actual shade when worn.
• It has a mild, artificial scent (which is tolerable).
• This may make the dry patches/flakes on your lips noticeable. Exfoliate well before using this lipstick.
• After hours of wear, this settled into my lip lines/wrinkles. Nothing lip balm and a little retouch can't fix!

Would I repurchase? Yes! I'm impressed! I love that it's less than P200.00 but with good quality. It's even better than other more expensive brands. I love the range of colors and the consistency of the lipstick - so creamy!
