The Face Shop Oil Specialist Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil

I bought my first bottle of cleansing oil from The Face Shop a few months back. I wished they had a smaller version of this one so I could at least put it to the test before buying a bottle as big as this one, but it only came in one size. I chose The Face Shop Oil Specialist Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil with Green Tea and Acai Berry among the variants available in store, since I got sold by "anti-aging" and the fact that green tea and acai berry are good for the skin.

The Face Shop Oil Specialist Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil (P795.00)
with Green Tea and Acai Berry

About the Product:

Ingredients:

I've used cleansing creams all my life so I had no idea on how to use a cleansing oil. I first thought that it had to be wiped off after massaging on the skin, but I was so wrong. I then asked my friend, and she explained to me how to use one.

Tips:
1. Pump a small amount on your clean hands, and massage the cleansing oil all over your face to dissolve the makeup.
2. Wet your face so the oil emulsifies (turns from clear to milky white), and continue on massaging your face. This is the part where the cleansing oil turns into a facial wash.
3. Rinse your face with warm water, then you're done! You may opt to follow through with another facial wash for double-cleansing.

Even if this one is in oil form, I was surprised on how my skin does not feel a bit oily after rinsing. In fact, if I double-cleanse my face using a facial wash right after, my face turns dry and tight - which meant that I have stripped off too much natural oils from my face. I then opted to just use this cleansing oil and nothing else, which made my face look and feel clean. I liked the convenience of not having to wipe of the makeup remover with cotton/tissue afterwards, but I began breaking out after a few days of using this product. I had some whiteheads on my nose and cheeks, so I had to stop using it.

The product looked promising, and I thought it would be a good dupe for Shu Uemura's cleansing oils, but it didn't work for me. I gave the bottle to my sister, and she's now using it to remove eye makeup. Guess I'll should have just bought lippies from The Face Shop instead of this.

Have you tried using cleansing oils? Do share with me your experiences and recommendations!

Love,
Helen
