Corazon Filipino Hispano Cuisine, Shangri-La East Wing

My sister, her colleague, and I were looking for a new restaurant to try, one weekend when we went shopping. We are fans of Filipino food, so were were quite intrigued with Corazon, a Filipino-Spanish restaurant located in Shangri-La East Wing.

Corazon Restaurant at Shangri-La East Wing

I've seen Crisostomo in Eastwood, and Elias in Robinsons Magnolia. I believe Corazon is from the same chain of restaurants, given its EspaƱol theme. Corazon is elegantly decorated chandeliers and paintings on the bold red walls.

Mejillones (P375.00)
New Zealand baked mussels with garlic and cheese

This. This may just be the biggest, cheesiest plate of mussels I've ever seen. The pieces of mussels are plump and chewy, while the cheese and garlic add a rich, salty taste to the dish. This is a must try!

If you check out what's on the plate - it's a very thick layer of of rock salt! It looks nice, but I feel that this is quite wasteful, even if salt is relatively inexpensive.

Ciudad Real (P395.00)
Lechon kawali with laing

When we ordered this dish, we didn't know it was already a bestseller. Imagine, your healthy greens topped with creamy, frothy coconut milk, with chunks of crispy pata. We loved this one as well!

Garlic Rice - 2 cups (P80.00 per cup)

Of course, we couldn't miss ordering rice. There's nothing special about the rice. This one's quite pricey, but the serving is huge.

What we've tried was just a preview on the dishes of Corazon. We were happy with the ones we ordered, and we would definitely come back to try more of their dishes.

Makeup to Wakeup: The Pixi Launch

"The best thing is to look natural, but it takes makeup to look natural." - Calvin Klein

I couldn't agree more. My favorite makeup look has always been the clean, classic, naturally pretty look. Effortless beauty - that's the exact term! I'm so glad to have met a brand that does just that.

Pixi is a makeup brand from the UK. I've heard of Pixi a few months back, when they first appeared in Glamourbox with the limited edition Pixi Magic Tink Tint. Now, they've officially launched here in the Philippines!

Pixi's founder Petra Strand is a professional makeup artist and mom, and she created her own makeup range for women like her - those in her 30s and wants to look put together in just 5 minutes. I think Pixi doesn't just have to be confined to that age range; they have a lot of products that could work for women of all ages - from teenagers to working moms!

Pixi goes by the slogan "makeup to wakeup", which means it doesn't have to take a lot of time plus loads of makeup to achieve the naturally beautiful look. What's more to love is that their formulations are skin-friendly.

Pixi a wide assortment of products, and they're planning to bring in more in the coming months!

They have pigmented eyeshadow palettes which you can use to create day to night makeup looks...

and also these: Natural Brow Duo (a brow pencil + tinted brow gel), Endless Silky Eye Pen (waterproof eyeliner), Tinted Brilliance Balm (amazingly pigmented lippies that could pass for lipstick), Flawless & Poreless (primer), Succulent Lip Twin (blush & lippie in 1), Sheer Cheek Gel, and cream concealer/highlighter palettes. And of course, that's not the rest of it yet. :D

During the launch, we got to witness the makeup magic of Au Mauricio, internationally trained makeup artist and Pixi ambassadress, who in 5 minutes was able to make a fresh and dewy makeup look with these Pixi products.

Makeover accomplished!

Donna, Jes, I, and Krissy

I'll be reviewing these babies soon! :D

Pixi is exclusively available in www.glamourbox.ph and select Snoe Beauty Inc. boutiques. Like Pixi Philippines on Facebook for more information on their products. :)

Etude House Rosy Tint Lips in 1 (Before Blossom)

Etude House launched the &Rose Collection (inspired by the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty) last Fall 2013. They seem to never run out of creative ideas for makeup! ^_^

Since today is Valentine's Day, I'm painting my lips so that they look as red as roses. This lip tint from Etude House is just the perfect product for that!

Etude House Rosy Tint Lips in 1 (Before Blossom)

This velvet type Tint Lips comes with a soft delicate texture and rich color to express lips of a rosy petal.

The Rosy Tint Lips is actually a very versatile product. You can use it to create a lip gradation effect, go full color (like lipstick), or use it as a cheek tint!

The color of the tube is the same as the shade of the tint inside.

Mine is shade 1 - Before Blossom.

The manufacturing date is printed on the box.

The applicator is sponge-type, which I am not fond of since it's not hygienic. You can't clean or replace it.

A little goes a long way with this product since it's so pigmented.

You can apply this on the lips in 2 ways: Delicate Petal Lip Gradation and Rose in Full Bloom Lip Cover.

Swatch: Etude House Rosy Tint Lips in 1 (Before Blossom)

Since I prefer full-on color on my lips, I prefer the second method. With just a little amount of tint, you can achieve this effect.

Pros:
  • It comes in a cute box, which I won't be throwing out for a long, long time.
  • The manufacturing date is printed on the box.
  • It comes in 8 shades.
  • The tint is versatile, you can use it on the lips and cheeks.
  • For the lips, the sponge tip applicator is handy to create the gradation effect.
  • It has a velvety matte texture that makes your lips feel just like a rose petal! ♥
  • Despite its matte texture, it doesn't make my lips chap or crack.
  • The tint is very pigmented; a little goes a long way!

Cons:
  • The packaging - hard to squeeze tube and unhygienic sponge tip applicator.
  • The tint easily transfers to surfaces.
  • While it doesn't make my lips crack, but it's not moisturizing either.

Neutral:
  • It has a subtle rose scent.

Tips:
  • Exfoliate the lips first before applying the product.
  • For extra dry lips that are prone to chapping, apply lip balm first, blot it off, then apply the tint.

Price:
  • P478.00
Available in all Etude House stores nationwide.

I'm also liking Tea Rose (a pretty everyday nude lippie) and After Blossom (the most pigmented one among the bunch). How about you, which shade(s) do you like? :D

Like Etude House Philippines on Facebook for more information on their products. ♥

Helen
