The Body Shop Lily Cole Lip & Cheek Dome (Now at 70% Off!)

If you're a fan of cream blush, and would like to get a new one right at this moment, I highly suggest you drop by your nearest The Body Shop store, as the limited edition Lily Cole Lip & Cheek Dome is now at 70% off - until January 7, 2013 (tomorrow).

The Body Shop Lily Cole Lip & Cheek Dome in Crazy for Coral (P895.00 -> P268.50)
Cream-to-powder colour for lips and cheeks that’s easy to wear and easy to blend. Wear it just as it is or under lip gloss.

The Lily Cole Lip & Cheek Dome is Lily Cole's personal favorite from the entire limited edition Lily Cole makeup range, and it comes in a cute, compact dome. The Body Shop says that this one has a cream-to-powder formula, but I feel that this is more like just a cream blush. It glides on effortlessly on my skin and gives me a slight wash of color on my cheeks.

Swatch: Crazy for Coral

The shade I have is Crazy for Coral, and it has a light peach shade that is very sheer. I think that this will only show up for those with light complexion. When I blended it on my skin, it almost disappeared (see picture above). Those with deeper complexions might want to use Pinch Me Pink (a brighter pink shade).

When Worn

I like the subtle glow Crazy for Coral gives my face, but since I have oily skin, this doesn't last a long time on me. It seems to fade after a few hours, and I don't like reapplying cream-based products throughout the day. Despite it being a Lip & Cheek Dome, I don't like using this for my lips since the pale peach shade washes me out. I would recommend this product only to those who have dry to normal skin. As for the shade, do get Pinch Me Pink instead - it's more pigmented and it's something you can really also use for your lips.

The Face Shop Happy Blossom Body Cleanser

I'm very fond of body care products, and I prefer using shower gels/creams compared to bar soaps. I have been using these body cleansers from The Face Shop for months now, so I'll be sharing with you my thoughts about it.

The Face Shop Happy Blossom Body Cleanser (P325.00)

The Happy Blossom Body Cleanser comes in two variants: Oriental flower (which is the radiantly moisturizing type) and European flower (which is the refreshingly light type). I actually got curious on the different flower extracts The Face Shop used on these ones, so I searched for the ingredients on Google! :D

About Happy Blossom Oriental Flower Body Cleaner:

Ingredients:

Extracts from Oriental flowers: safflower, lotus, chrysanthemum, tree peony, hollyhock, and honeysuckle

About Happy Blossom European Flower Body Cleanser:

Ingredients:

Extracts from European flowers: jasmine, iris, cornflower, arnica, carnation, freesia, and calla lily

These body cleansers are housed in a simple matte white plastic pump bottle (with a unique shape). I actually left one in the kitchen and another one in the bathroom, as these can double as hand wash. Both of them have a very light floral scent that does not linger long after taking a bath, but they do smell very fresh and clean. I was expecting to not like the Oriental flower, since I imagined a heavy floral, almost potpourri scent, but was pleasantly surprised that it smelled very light and fresh. It goes well with the Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT I use everyday. I use a bath lily with these, and a small amount goes a long way as these do produce abundant bubbles. Both have similar textures, like gel type body cleansers with creamy moisturizing ribbons in it. Between the two, I like the Oriental flower variant more since I find it indeed more moisturizing than the European variant. The European flower variant I also use to clean my makeup brushes, and it works really well in getting all the makeup off my brushes while keeping the bristles soft.

Aside from makeup, The Face Shop also has lots of great body care items that are inspired by nature. I'm curious about their hand creams and face mists so I'll check them out the next time I drop by the mall.

Snoe Past Present & The Future Bio Marine + Vegetable Eye Wrinkle Serum

This year, I'm taking my skincare routine up a notch by adding eye care products (like creams and serums) into my daily regimen. I'm in my early twenties, and prevention is and will always be better than cure. One skincare product that I have sampled and will share with you today is this eye serum named Past Present & The Future from Snoe.

Snoe Past Present & The Future (P1,399.00/15ml)
Bio Marine + Vegetable Eye Wrinkle Serum

Instant tense-lift protect
Positive long term results

Repetitive facial movement causes expression lines and wrinkles to form. Enter the time space warp and make eye wrinkles a thing of the past!

This is how the full-sized version looks like. It comes in a glass bottle with medicine-dropper style applicator.

I'm on my second sample vial of this eye serum, and though I haven't tried it long enough to give a full blown review, here are my thoughts on this product.

Eye wrinkles aren't my top eye concern yet (*knocks on wood*), but upon application, I immediately feel a tensing, tightening effect all over my eye area. It's like an instant eye lift, but I wish I could have tested it more on mature skin to see if the results are immediate and super visible. It has a light, liquid (almost water) texture that is instantly absorbed by the skin. Because of its watery texture, it's a nice alternative to those who develop milia after using eye creams, since this one from Snoe has never caused me any bumps or irritations. My eye area looked brighter too after constant use, so I look less haggard and I didn't have to use concealers that much while I was using this one.

The price might seem steep for an eye serum that's locally made, but the effect of Snoe's Past Present & The Future (P1,399.00 or about USD 35.00 per 15ml)  is comparable to Natura Bisse Inhibit-Tensolift which costs USD 715.00 per 60ml! It has the similar tensing, tightening, and lifting effect for the fraction of the price.

I'm still deciding whether I'll be getting a full-sized bottle of this product, since I have another eye cream up for review. For those who have tried out this one, what can you say? :)
