Profusion Colour Me Glow 12 Shades Eyeshadow (06 and 08)

One thing I find amazing is how affordable makeup are sold in the US! This post is something that my international readers might appreciate since I don't think that Profusion Cosmetics are available locally here in the Philippines.

I received these two palettes of Profusion Colour Me Glow 12 Shades Eyeshadow in 06 and 08 last month after a colleague of mine went to the US for a vacation. I'm not so familiar with the brand itself, so I did my own research prior to doing this post. Profusion Cosmetics was established in California, but their products are manufactured in China. Thankfully, they don't test their products on animals. I've read from other blogs that these eyeshadow palettes are sold in Walgreens for just USD 0.99! However, these are priced at USD 1.49 over at Profusion's website.

Based from their website, this product comes in 8 different palettes, but from my 2 palettes alone I found that some had similar shades. Each palette contains 12 metallic (not glittery) eyeshadows and a double-ended sponge applicator.

Ingredients:

Each palette comes in a slim, hard plastic container, with the ingredients list printed on the bottom back part of the palette. The ingredients (and other info) gets rubbed off though through time. While there is nothing special about the packaging, you can't have high expectations for a product as affordable as this.

It actually came as a huge surprise for me on how greatly pigmented these eyeshadows are! The color payoff is intense, and what you see on the pan is what comes out upon application. These palettes are great for those who are starting to play with makeup, and also for makeup pros alike since there's a good mix of neutral and dramatic shades in the palettes. Plus, you can't beat the price since you get 12 shades of eyeshadows for just about a dollar. The only downside is that it is can be messy to apply. It comes off in clumps, and there are fallouts when used with an eyeshadow brush. For this one, I think using your fingers wound be best, but then it would be hard to blend those bright and deep shades with fingers alone.

Since I am not really big on eyeshadows, I don't think I'll be able to sport bright, eye-popping hues on regular days. I think I'd stick to the more neutral shades in these palettes for my everyday look.

Have you come across any makeup "steals" lately?

Love,
Helen

    1. A tip I learned from my sister is that this can also be used wet to minimize fallouts, but I haven't tried using wet eyeshadows yet.
