Tony Moly Eyetone Single Shadows

For the entire month of June, I've been playing with these working girl makeup staples from Tony Moly. Eyetone Single Shadow and the Kiss Lover Lip Click Styling Color are some of their newest releases.

The shades they sent over (neutral for eyes, bold for lips) were exactly the colors I would wear on a daily basis, so kudos to Tony Moly's marketing team for knowing me well. :D

First up, the eye shadows! (The Lip Click deserves a separate post, so watch out for that.) The design of the Eyetone range is similar to the way Pantone presents color. So sleek!

Its professional eye shadow present intense colors with a high-payoff and coated pigments.

The way it's presented looks so serious but cute at the same time. Aside from having a broad range of shades, what pulled me in is the super silky smooth texture of the powders. It feels creamy to touch, but it's powder!

Tony Moly Eyetone Matte M06 (Cookie Brown)

This cookie brown shade gives of a subtle wash of color on the lid, making it ideal for use during the day. When you stare at makeup ads in magazines (please let me know that it's not just me who does this), there are those enviable models rocking the no-makeup makeup look. Yung parang walang makeup pero meron (there, I said it) - this is the product you have to reach for.

Tony Moly Eyetone Shimmer S05 (Deep Root)

S05 is a shimmery brown shade that looks dark on the pan, but is much lighter when worn. Let this not be a let down, as this shade is buildable. The shimmer is not chunky nor glittery. Instead, it gives off a pretty twinkle effect (and not the garish sparky foil look). This one can be used both day and night, but I prefer to use this for my night makeup look.

Swatches:

S05 and M06

When worn:

M06

Price: P298

Tony Moly Eyetone Single Shadows come in 8 matte shades and 10 shimmer shades. View them here.

Which do you prefer: matte eye shadow or shimmer ones?

Leaders Coconut Bio Mask with Tomato

Summer's through (even if it doesn't feel much like it). If you've spent a good amount of time under the sun, it's time to pamper and nourish it back to health.

I've shared with you about quick skin care boosts last time, and now here's a review on their unique Coconut Bio Mask Line. Each bio-cellulose mask is made from fermented coconut juice which locks in moisture and delivers nutrients into the skin. Bio-cellulose/jelly masks are usually pricey in other Korean brands, and so far, it's this one from Leaders that's priced reasonably but work extremely well! I've tried 2 variants from this range, and now here's a review on the Tomato variant.

Leaders Coconut Bio Mask with Tomato (P148)
We all know that Tomato is abundant in vitamins, minerals and Lycopene. Imagine what a Tomato-infused mask can do for your skin! The Coconut Bio Mask with Tomato cools, soothes and hydrates the skin. It also restores skin elasticity.

Pros:
  • It's unique bio-cellulose texture feels cooling on the skin once you put in on, even when you leave it in room temperature. So refreshing! (Tip: Put in in the fridge first for an even more cooling treat!)
  • It's a bit slippery at first (when you're used to mask sheets), but the mask is durable and has a nice fit.
  • It contains 30ml worth of essence, which is a LOT! It's more than enough for the face, so the leftovers you can use on your body, too.
  • The mask dries up in 25-30 minutes, which means the essence is really absorbed into the skin.
  • Upon removal of the mask, my pores looked visibly smaller.
  • Skin looked and felt smoother.
  • Redness and flakiness are gone.
  • Skin looked more even.
  • It contains minimal fragrance (listed last on the ingredients list), but it smells almost unscented to me.
  • Price is very reasonable for its quality.

Cons:
  • None

Would I repurchase?
  • YES! It's also good to give as gifts to friends.

Price:
  • P148

Stores:
  • Leaders Festival Mall (2/F)
  • Beauty MNL
  • Lucky Chinatown Mall

Fun face mask day! :3

Here are the other variants for the Coconut Bio Mask range:

Coconut Bio Mask with Blueberry (P148)
If your skin needs a break, then this is the perfect mask for you. The Coconut Bio Mask with Blueberry contains Anthocyanin and vitamins which deeply hydrate and repair the skin. Don’t forget to bring this mask on your weekend getaway!

Coconut Bio Mask with Broccoli (P148)
Broccoli is rich in antioxidants such as vitamins C and E. Vitamin C stimulates collagen production and keeps your skin healthy. Try this mask on for a complete skin pamper session.

Coconut Bio Mask with Orange (P148)
Brighten and cool sun-damaged skin with a Coconut Bio Mask with Orange! It contains orange extract which is packed with vitamins and Aplha Hydroxy Acids (AHA). These key ingredients promote clear and smooth skin.

Have you tried these best-selling masks from Leaders? These ones are a new fave of mine! I don't mind spending a bit more since this mask is legit, and probably one of the best I've tried! :D

Helen

Safeguard Derma Sense for Acne Prone Skin

I've shared with you about Safeguard Derma Sense products, and now it's time for a review on their star products!

For the past weeks, these two products have been a mainstay on our bathroom shelf. It's June, and summer's supposed to be over, but here in Manila it's always really sunny and sometimes rainy. We can't escape the heat, but we have a way to beat the acne and skin irritations that come with it.

Safeguard Derma Sense Facial Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin (P199)

Most anti-acne skin care products clear up the skin but may leave the skin dry and tight. Safeguard Derma Sense Facial Cleanser comes in a gentle, lightweight, creamy formula that doesn't lather. I tend to use up more product compared to foamy facial washes, but it's this unique creamy texture that cleans skin off its dirt and oil, deposits salicylic acid into the pores to zap acne and blackheads off, and leaves the skin soft and supple to touch after washing.

Noteworthy ingredients:
  • Salicylic acid - helps treat mild to moderate acne by helping to shed dead skin cells from the epidermis
  • Niacinamide - evens out the skin tone
  • White mulberry - prevents wrinkles and slows down aging
  • Job's tears - clarify the skin, prevent skin aging, and reduce blemishes

Safeguard Derma Sense Face & Body Wash (P120)

This face and body wash is great for the travel-weary since it's so convenient to have just one product for that purpose. However, it's my personal preference to use this just on my body, and use the Derma Sense Facial Cleanser for Acne-Prone Skin for my face. I initially planned to use this just on my chest and back, but after trying it and realizing that it's not drying at all, I just use this as a regular body wash. It smells really fresh and feels refreshing because of the eucalyptus content, and it also has anti-bacterial properties that remove acne-causing germs and excess oil. I don't have many skin issues, but I feel it has become more balanced with this body wash. My sister who has bacne updated me that her skin condition has improved in just 1 week after using this!

Tip: Use a peso-sized amount and lather using a bath lily to make this body wash last longer. :D

Recover your clear skin with Safeguard Derma Sense! While my skin isn't too problematic, I use this range to prevent pimples from forming. Safeguard Derma Sense for Sensitive Skin is also available, if acne isn't your main concern.

TriNoma's Style Origin 2015 | High Street: Global Brands

Fashion shows are always fun and inspiring to watch. My first weekend of June was special as I witnessed Style Origin unfold at the TriNoma Activity Center. (Same time last year, I watched Mensweek.) Style Origin is a lifestyle series presented by Ayala Malls to bring the latest in fashion and design to us shoppers - celebrating fashion innovations and inspired design.

Last June 6, I watched 1 of the 3 fashion shows lined up for that weekend, which is High Street: Global Brands. This show featured the latest collections of top foreign labels such as Zara, Topshop, Mango, Cotton On, and Marks & Spencer.

Trivia: The stage setup resembled a pile of scrap wood trimmings, or a magnified thread from a fabric. According to director Arial Lozada, these elements represent a "construction" of style, which is the exact message Style Origin likes to convey to its audience.

Louise delos Reyes for Merrell

Kylie Padilla for Skechers

Matt Evans and son Hayden for Guess

A couple of local celebrities graced the runway as brand ambassadors to select foreign brands.

The collections are beautifully curated. The runway show inspires us to experiment, and not be afraid to express our style. Ayala Malls' Style Origin is where style is not only discovered, but proudly celebrated.
