Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Creme in Rich Bordeaux

I'm don't use lip gloss a lot as I'm more into matte lipstick, but last December, Revlon went on crazy sale and I was able to buy a lot of Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Creme to give as gifts. I saved one in the deepest, darkest shade Rich Bordeaux for myself.

Lips look fuller and smoother in one step with our gloriously creamy and glossy lip plumper.
  • Delivers creamy, shiny color in one fabulously plush formula
  • Our lip plumper is formulated with Volulip™ technology to help your lips look fuller, instantly
  • The formula feels refreshingly cool as you swipe it on!
  • Available in 10 glossy shades

Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Creme in Rich Bordeaux is surprisingly sheer when worn. It's also patchy but workable. The swatch above is just the gloss worn alone. It's pretty, right? The texture is creamy and lightweight, and I love the mild tingling sensation upon application. I'm not sure if the minty feel makes my lips plumper, but wearing it all day makes my lips soft. The only thing I don't like is that it transfers to my front teeth, which usually happens to me with glossy lip products.

SWATCHES: Revlon Balm Stain One-Of-A-Kind Pearl Shine

Revlon Balm Stain is not new to me. When they launched around 7 years ago, I finished one chubby crayon after another (Darling, Honey, Lovesick, and Sultry).

Today I was walking around Watsons in Ayala Cloverleaf and these iridescent babies caught my eyes!

How pretty are these!

4 out of 5 shades on display

From top to bottom: Starry Night, Mystic Magenta, Moonlit Pink, Twilight

All shades have a sheer coverage and it took me more than 5 swipes to get this payoff, so that means these would look just like a hint of tint on the lips.

This limited edition pearly version of the classic Revlon Balm Stain is the brand's take on color-changing lipstick. I cannot vouch for that effect since I just swatch them on whim, but based on reviews I've read, the change is just subtle.

Price: P575 but currently on sale at P475

Helen

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

Whenever I want to take a break from my matte lipstick streak, I reach for hydrating lipsticks to nourish my lips back to health. Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor was released in the Philippines late last year. Out of the 15 shades available, these 2 shades are my top picks among the bunch. Like I said before, I'm more into reds and nudes! 💄

These lipsticks contain hyaluronic acid for hydration. The vibrant color pigments are suspended in a clear gel base, giving it a very lightweight (and not waxy) feel. The creamy mango and whipped vanilla fragrance is the exactly same as Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor. Heck, I think Rhubarb from the Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor and Passion from Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor are quite similar when worn on the lips, since their Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor doesn't dry down to a completely matte finish anyway. Only, this one comes in a convenient stick form.

These lipsticks come in a pretty long and slim tube with a precision tip to sculpt the lips. The cap is secure and does not easily come off. The packaging might look big, but it only contains 1.7 grams. Bullet lipsticks usually have 3-4 grams of product, which makes this expensive for a drugstore lipstick.

Desert

Desert is the 3rd lightest shade in the range. Desert seems more like a tinted lip balm as it doesn't alter my lipcolor, but just makes my lips look healthier. This one will look gorgeous with dramatic eyes, but since I'm lazy I skip eye makeup when I'm just going to work. When I don't have any other makeup on, I look pale with this so I just use this for errands or during relaxed weekends when I want to fake not wearing any makeup. LOL

Rhubarb

Depending on the shade you pick, the Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor can range from sheer to very pigmented. Rhubarb is a gorgeous pinkish red shade that looks WOW! 😍 I like this more than Desert. It brightens up my face instantly. The only caveat is when I apply too much, it has the tendency to migrate to my front teeth and bleed out of my lip lines since it has a soft balmy formula. You can blot a layer off with tissue to leave a cute popsicle stain - this way, the color won't bleed.

It transfers to cups, but it lasts fairly long as it doesn't get completely erased after a heavy meal - especially for Rhubarb. I'm amazed because it's hydrating and yet it stays on pretty well.

Price: P575

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor

Lately, my lippies of choice are more on the nude and red shades. Matte lipsticks are a must for me, I can live on them everyday! However, the usual matte lipstick in its classic bullet form tends to be drying. Right now, I have around 6 matte liquid lipsticks in circulation right now, and these 2 babies are the newest ones!

When Revlon launched the Ultra HD Matte Lipcolors, I was over the moon! This line boasts of having a 100% wax-free gel formula - non-drying and doesn't flake or cake even when you retouch! This range is available in 8 shades, and I'm reviewing Devotion and Passion.

Velvet seems to be the operative word for the Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor range - from its unique doe-foot applicator with flat sides, to the HD shades, to the overall feel of this lippie when worn.

Ingredients:

Swatches:

Devotion is a pretty peachy pink shade that's nothing short of girly. It has this "girl next door" vibe, and would go very well a neutral eye palette to complete the look.

Passion is a beautiful bright cherry red shade which I LOVE and plan to use up 'til the last drop. This shade makes me feel empowered the moment I wear it. I feel strong, confident, and made up instantly - even when the rest of my face is bare. I'm a fan of the clean, doll-like look: tinted moisturizer, falsies, and red lippie.

You may have noticed that the swatches aren't completely matte. These lippies actually have a wet finish upon application, and it takes a while for it to dry. Once it settles on your lips, it looks really good - really pigmented with solid colors and it's not shiny at all!

Tip: As you take the applicator out from the tube, wipe away ALL excess products on the tip until you think there's no more product left on the wand. Then apply the lippie from there. Trust me, this method works and it gives you more control over the amount of product. You can build the color according to your liking from there.

About the feel of this lippie, I'd say it's very lightweight, moisturizing, and cushy. I never had to use a lip balm along with the Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor. It also doesn't make my lips flake, crack, or dry up. It's the most comfortable matte lipcolor I've ever worn. Another plus is the scent; it smells like creamy mangoes and whipped vanilla combined, very cake-like and delicious! Lasting power is around 5 hours of super comfortable wear.

Passion (when worn)

Off topic, but I'm back to having black hair! This time, it's my real hair color and (wavy) texture. Sometimes I miss having it colored, but whenever I think of roots and regrowth, never mind. :D

Price: P575 for 5.9ml
Available at all Revlon counters nationwide

Revlon Love Is On Eau de Toilette

The first time I saw this fragrance was at the Revlon counter inside the airport. I was so enamored with its color and shape, but I didn't have the time to try it. When I got home, Revlon were giving away beauty ritual kits over at IG, and I won. Hihi :>

Revlon Love Is On was released Autumn 2015. This fragrance reminds us that romance is in the center of attention again, just like attraction and love in general.

This fragrance is made in Spain, another one of my dream countries to visit next to Japan!

The heart-shaped flacon is a beauty, with 50ml of EDT inside. Revlon Love Is On is said to be a sensual fragrance that women like and men find irresistible.

  • Enticing top notes: Italian lemon with sweet berry and velvety rose
  • Stimulating core: Cardamom and ginger with exotic sandalwood
  • Seductive melt down: Vanilla-infused musk with sparkling amber

At first whiff, this wouldn't make you feel as if you've found your signature scent unlike the more popular classics such as D&G Light Blue and Clinique Happy. I'm thinking that's also a good thing, since there's less chance you'd bump into someone wearing the same fragrance. Revlon Love Is On isn't complex, but it does smell good. I can't detect the citrus and berries, though. On me, it's a musky rose scent that lasts all day and doesn't come off. (Yay!) This fragrance is romantic, feminine, and sexy. It's not my typical light scent, but this fragrance can definitely work from day to night. It's a sweet and warm scent that I'd wear for dates or during days that aren't sweltering hot.

Love,
Helen

Loving My Revlon Beauty Ritual Kit

Last February, I saw the release of Revlon's newest lippie, Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor. I wanted ALL shades since I'm a sucker for matte lipstick. I almost forgot to join their IG contest, wherein the prize was a Beauty Ritual Kit. It just popped on my mind the Monday after Valentine's Day (which was the last day of joining), so I took a shot of my well-loved Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain on top of the carnation bouquet my Panda gave me and dashed off to work. When I returned home, I posted my entry ASAP. A few days after, I won! :D Weeee! I had to go to their office in Makati just to claim this on a weekday afternoon, but the long trip was worth it. I carried my precious all the way home, and I couldn't stop smiling. Hey, it's been a while since I won something so I'm happy! :D

Revlon Beauty Ritual Kit

Revlon did an amazing study on how a beauty ritual can positively affect your love life. My initial thought was "of course you'll get a better love life when you fix yourself up more often", but they even had statistics to prove it. For one week, 710 women were asked to follow a beauty ritual with makeup, fragrance, chocolate, and a mirror.

The results?

97% saw an improvement in their love lives! ♥
***
89% felt more confident
71% wanted more romance
74% were more likely to flirt
65% got more compliments
60% found partner to be more romantic

I'm so game to try the Revlon Love Test for myself. The idea here is to engage your senses. It's amazing how taking a few minutes of your time to do these as you start your day can lead to something more. ;)

Go through the steps of this ritual each day:

1. Apply fragrance.

Revlon Love is On EDT is a sexy mix of Italian lemon, fresh berries, and velvety rose. I'm liking this romantic and feminine scent a lot, and I think my Panda loves it because he gets extra affectionate whenever I'm wearing this. Maybe this can be my secret love potion! (Oh no if he reads this. Hihi) This lasts the entire day on me! I spray this in the morning before I head to work, and I can still smell it by the time I get back home during the evening.

2. Savor a mint or chocolate.

Revlon collaborated with Theo & Philo to create these poetic chocolate bars which I love both for the packaging and for the goodness that's inside. I finished savored (as instructed) the entire bar which left me in a really happy mood. Haha! The Milk Chocolate variant was rich, smooth, and creamy - it could compete with Hershey's! Super world class but proudly Philippine-made!

3. Apply lip color.

I LOVE YOU, my babies! These are the newest stars in my kit, in the shades Devotion, Obsession, and Passion. Even their names sound intriguing! My first impressions: Devotion is an everyday natural peachy pink shade, Obsession is too bright of a pink, and Passion is LOVE. Will do a separate review for these lovelies soonest!

Clue: My favorite is Passion. Es muy hermoso!

4. Take a slow, deep breath.

5. Look at yourself in the mirror and smile.

This compact is so luxurious with its black and gold design by Marchesa. It has 2 sides - a regular mirror and a magnifying one. Handy! Now, look at yourself in the mirror, smile, and say, "I love you!" :)

Repeat these steps daily for a week. You can experiment by trying out this ritual at different times of the day, rearranging the steps, and even trying out new looks (such as mixing lipcolor shades to come up with a new one). It's creative of how Revlon came up this, and you can customize your own beauty ritual kit even with the products you have at home. Enjoy! :3

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Sultry

Revlon was perpetually on sale this year, slashing 50% off on selected best-sellers from time to time. I had to withhold the urge to give in every single time, because I already have x amount of lipsticks inside my kit and using one up is a huge thing! But then again, there's no such thing as too many lipsticks so I made sure to make my next purchase count. Say hello to my newest favorite!

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Sultry

225 Sultry/Sulfureuse

I already have a couple of shades from Revlon's ColorBurst Balm Stain line. While I expected to use Honey more often since it's a great MLBB shade, my love for bold lipstick made Lovesick a mainstay inside my everyday kit, hence only 1/3 of it is left, while Honey is now inside my sister's kit. Now, it's Sultry I use every single day. It comes in a retractable chubby crayon packaging, no need to sharpen, but the tip won't be as sharp as this after several uses.

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Sultry is a very beautiful pinkish brown shade. It is said to be a dupe for MAC Twig, but I think it's also a close match for NYX Doll. I love how this shade glides on smoothly thanks to the Triple Butter Complex of shea, mango, and coconut butter. It smells like peppermint and gives my lips a slight but very pleasant tingle for a few minutes upon application. It looks matte and feels velvety, and it gives off a very premium feel. It does look like an expensive lipstick when worn, but with a drugstore price, which makes it even better! It's pigmented too, and can cover (and look lovely) on dark lips as well, which means a little goes a long way.

It's not as long lasting as the ColorBurst Balm Stains, as it completely comes off after a meal, leaving me with no hint of tint on my lips. Reapplication is a must, and when your lips isn't as smooth by midday as it is in the morning, you can apply a matte lip balm such as Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm as base. Burt's Bees is now available at ZALORA. (It comforts me to know this, since I won't need to go to the mall anymore just to buy their products!) Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm may highlight flaky lips due to its texture, so make sure they're smooth and supple prior to application.

Overall, I am over the moon with this lippie! It's matte, it's minty, and the shade is absolutely gorgeous. I'd repurchase if I ever use this one up, or maybe get another lovely shade from the Matte Balm range.

What is your favorite shade from Revlon ColorBurst?

Helen

Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain in New York Scene

My friend bought makeup from ebay and since she had three Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stains, we did a makeup swap. I gave her a lip balm, while she gave me this! I've always been curious about this product, but I'm not the biggest fan of lip gloss so I'm not buying it with my own money. LOL! I LOVE of Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stains though.

Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain (P625)
A new level of glossy wet color. Saturated lips with brilliant shine and vivid color. Available in 12 luscious shades.
  • Drenches lips in glossy wet color
  • Ultra-light creamy lipstain with Vitamin E and Aloe
  • 88% of women felt lips were instantly moisturized without stickiness

I love the rectangular packaging, so I had an easy time taking product shots, since it doesn't go rolling down the table by itself. I'm figuring that the packaging itself is transparent, so it shows you the actual shade that's inside.

It comes with a doe foot applicator, which I had a hard time working with at first because the formula was liquidy and VERY pigmented even at first swipe. I blend and always clean the edges of my lips using my pinky finger whenever I use this lip gloss.

THIS rich crimson red shade is the actual red you'll see when you apply it on your lips. However, it's too heavy for me so I press my lips together and blend it to make it look "friendlier".

And it's the only makeup you need to make a statement using your lips. I actually ended up liking it, since the gloss doesn't feel hot, sticky, and heavy at all.

Bare lips

With Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain

With Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain (blotted out)

I'm used to my lips sporting a matte red, so this one's a refreshing take on the classic makeup look. It looks better after a few minutes, once it settles on your lips. Even when I sip on water from time to time at my work desk, a hint of stain is left so I'm not left completely pale. On me, it lasts for about 3 hours. The only thing I don't like about it is that it has the tendency to bleed on my outer lips. (You won't have a big problem when you're sporting a lighter shade of this product.) You can see how it looks like blotted out. Still pretty!

In fairness, I reconsidered and now think that it's one of the lip glosses in the market worth buying. I want more, but in neutral shades for everyday wear. Revlon goes on sale regularly so I think I'll wait for that. Like Revlon Philippines on Facebook for more information.

Love,
Helen
