Current Skincare Routine

One of my readers asked me what my skincare routine was, which inspired me to do this post! Truth to be told, I was never consistent with taking care of my skin until I used these products. Even 'til now I know that this routine is incomplete, as I still don't have a night moisturizer. (Your suggestions are most welcome!)

AM

- I'm now on my second tube of the green tea variant, but I believe that this has been discontinued by Etude House, and they've launched a reformulated one. I might give that a try after I've used this up.
- I'm halfway through with this bottle. I use this every morning. It's gentle and unscented, even my oily skin loves it! No breakouts here. Plus, it has a high SPF to keep me covered.

PM

- I'm now on my second tub of this product. Makeup remover is a must for those who wear makeup everyday or those who commute, because it gets rid of hard to remove gunk that your cleanser might not be able to handle. This one works like a cold cream. Just apply a small amount and massage it all over your face, then tissue off. Follow with a facial wash after for super clean skin.
(2) Happy Teatime Green Tea Cleansing Foam
- I'm now on my second bottle of this salicylic acid-spiked wonder. It does its job well in keeping pimples away.

Once a day, I take 1 capsule of Gloww either after lunch or after dinner (if I forget to take it during lunch time). I started taking Gloww last February, and am still taking it now. I like the effect it gives on my skin, which is a healthy-looking glow!

What's your current skincare routine?

Love,
Helen

Gloww Update: After 2 Months

This day marks the 60th day of my taking Gloww, an all natural BFAD-approved, oral skin supplement that improves the skin's condition in terms of Color, Luminosity, Brightness, and Transparency (CLBT). Note that Gloww is NOT a whitening pill. It's a skin vitamin that takes care of the skin from within.

Gloww capsules are composed of Marine Protein, Horsetail Extract, Green Tea Extract, Lemon Bioflavonoids, Hydrolysed Collagen, Vitamin C, Tomato Extract (Lycopene), Grape Seed Extract, D. Salina Extract (Betacarotene), Pine Bark Extract, and Vitamin E. There are no added preservatives, chlorinated solvents, and artificial flavors in this supplement, but it is advised to be taken only for people aged 18 and above.

I religiously took 1 capsule twice daily with meals, until I got sick a few weeks ago. I skipped taking the Gloww for a week due to antibiotics (as I didn't feel like taking too much medicine). After that, I went back to taking it twice a day.

Here are the results of my 2-month journey with Gloww. I'm not wearing any trace makeup on my face (well, except for my brows which I filled in with dark brown eyeshadow). I did not edit these also so you'd see the actual color.

After 2 Months

Yes, this shot makes me happy. My efforts were not put to waste since I saw results. This was taken about an hour after I woke up. Aside from taking Gloww, I think that not being stressed and getting enough sleep also played a big part on the improvement of my skin. The rough texture on my cheeks were minimized. It's still not perfect, but it's better now.

Before & After

Another thing worth mentioning is that my skin felt more supple, and some of the dry patches near my forehead are gone even if I skip moisturizers from time to time. (I have weird skin, some parts were dry and some parts are oil-slicked.) But my favorite result was having naturally rosy cheeks, compared to my previous before shot that was pale and pasty. On days that I run errands (like go to the supermarket), I don't feel the need to put on any makeup (except for my eyebrows again). I'm glad to have discovered something that works for my skin, and with no side effects.

If you're also planning to try this one out, it's advisable to take 2 capsules per day for 2 months for immediate results, and 1 capsule per day after 2 months.

Gloww is available in leading drugstores nationwide for P750.00 a box (with 30 capsules).

Helen

Gloww Update: After 1 Box

After 2 weeks of taking Gloww, here's an update. I started taking Gloww 2 times a day starting February 13, 2012, so by the time this post is up, I've already consumed 1 box. Here are "Before" and "After" shots of my face without makeup.

Before and After (2 weeks = 1 box of Gloww)

Before and After (2 weeks = 1 box of Gloww)

I tried to take the "After" photo at the same spot, at the same time of the day that I took my "Before" shot, but the sunny day won't let me have the same lighting, so the 2nd photo turned out lighter. (FYI, Gloww has no whitening effect.) After 2 weeks, the part below my eye area and above my cheeks became more radiant; as if I had highlighter on. I'm not so sure with the rosier cheeks effect though, since my default cheek color was already a little pinkish even before I started taking Gloww. Let's see if I can skip putting on some blush after a few more weeks. As for small pimples and little whiteheads, they're still there (Gloww is not an acne treatment medicine after all.)

Have you tried Gloww? How did it work for you?

Love,
Helen

Get Glowwing, Beauties!

Whether it's the love month or not, it's always nice to have radiant, blushing, and glowing skin. I have to admit that I am lazy when it comes to skincare. On normal days, I just use facial cleanser as my skincare regimen (and some makeup remover when I've put on some makeup and spent the day outside). Well, my poor skincare habits have resulted to less than stellar skin that could use some improvement. Prior to trying out Gloww, I did some research and found out that it's made up of natural ingredients (that would unlikely cause side effects) so I decided to try it out. Imagine, skincare in a capsule. How convenient!

Even if I really do not like taking medicine (or multivitamins) because they tend to get stuck in my throat, this one does not even if it's big. Good thing these are softgel capsules.

Ingredients:

About the product:
Gloww (by Mega We Care, originally Glow from Thailand) is an all-natural, BFAD approved, oral skin supplement that improves the skin condition. In our present times when we get exposed to the sun, pollution, and unhealthy diet and lifestyle, our skin tends to lose its natural glow. Gloww consists of 11 essential nutrients that helps nourish our skin's Color, Luminousity, Brightness, and Transparency (CLBT) - which are measures of skin's general health and condition. Gloww nourishes the skin from the inside with its unique Skin, Health, and Nutrient (SKHN) complex that strengthens collagen, detoxifies skin, enhances blood circulation, protects from harmful UV rays and free radicals. By treating and nourishing the skin from within, skin becomes healthier and becomes naturally radiant.

Gloww effectively works in 5 nourishing ways:
1. Collagen Strengthening
  • Marine Protein, Horsetail extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen
  • Provides skin structure, increase thickness of the dermis (2nd layer of the skin), and adds moisture - making the skin smoother and elastic
2. Blood Circulation Enhancer
  • Grape seed extract, Lemon bioflavonoids
  • Improves blood flow in the distribution of nutrients and removes impurities that could give clearer and brighter skin
3. Skin Waste Detoxifier
  • Green tea extract
  • Cleanses the skin’s impurities, thus making the skin clearer
4. UV Protectant
  • Tomato extract, D. Salina extract
  • Protects the skin from harmful UV rays thus preventing inflammation, redness, and even melasma
5. Free Radical Defense
  • Pine Bark extract, Vitamin C, Vitamin E
  • Prevents our skin from advanced aging and degeneration

Gloww is clinically proven by Spin Control Institute France, a world class research center in France and Asia, to give significant improvement on skin's CLBT after 2 months of consumption.
  • Colour (Healthy pink pigments contained in the skin) - increased by 40%
  • Luminosity (Shimmering, dewy skin, intensity of light spots in the cheekbones, nose, and forehead) - increased by 21%
  • Brightness (Radiance of the skin) - increased by 51%
  • Transparency (Fineness and softness of the skin) - increased by 24%

Gloww also currently has a promo wherein you'd get Glowwing charms (trinkets/accessories) for every purchase of 1 box. Visit them on Facebook for more details.

Before I end this post, here's a shot of my bare face, before I started taking Gloww.

It is advised to take 2 capsules daily for the first 2 months, then once a day for the succeeding months. Gloww is available at all leading drugstores nationwide at P750.00 per box.

Whether or not Gloww is an effective way to achieve healthier, more radiant skin, we shall know after a few weeks!
Join me on my journey to Glowwing skin. I shall give updates on how this worked for me.

Helen
