Masatami Shave Ice

Everyone loves good ol' ice cream to cool down on a hot day, but there's something new I'd like to share with you! My sister and I went to Glorietta and tried out Masatami Shave Ice for the first time. This kiosk is located outside the cinemas of Glorietta 4.

Have you tried Masatami Shave Ice? This one is not your typical chunky snow cone dessert. It's ground so finely that it has a smooth, snow-like consistency.

Masatami Shave Ice uses ice that's finely shaved into a consistency slightly more dense than frost and mixed with flavored syrup. The syrup added to the ice soaks into the densely packed shavings and does not sink to the bottom, creating the frozen treat. I will try their bestselling Rainbow Shave Ice with Snow Cap next time!

Masatami Shave Ice uses the latest technology in making different flavored ice blocks and syrups. The Flavored Shave Ice is just like ice cream in the form of shaved ice! This one became our favorite at the first try - definitely a must-try!

My sister ordered the Peanut flavored shave ice, while I had Swiss Cheese. Both orders were served in big green plastic flower cups, which were not only functional (as it prevents spills and drips) but also pretty (that we had to take it home). My sister and I were eating this while walking in the Food Choices area, and passed by a group of ladies who looked at the eye-catching cups were were holding and asked "Wow! Ano yan (what's that)?"

Peanut Flavored Shave Ice (large, P95.00) + Rice Crispies (P5.00)

I love peanut butter, so I had to try this one! This one is sooo good! The sweetness is just right, and the rice crispies added a nice crunch to the dessert.

Swiss Cheese Flavored Shave Ice (large, P90.00) + Rice Crispies (P5.00)

My favorite flavor would have to be Swiss Cheese. This dessert looked entirely like grated cheese strands, but it's actually a huge block of flavored ice shaved into a consistency of super fine ice that melts to a creamy texture similar to ice cream. It melts ever so smoothly in your mouth, and I loved how the Swiss Cheese flavor had a sweet and salty flavor that tickles your taste buds. At first, I was stunned by the huge serving, and wondered how I could finish the entire cup of shave ice, but I finished it all up and even wanted for more!

Masatami Shave Ice also offers different toppings to go with your chosen flavored shave ice, but rice crispies are the best thing to partner with both Peanut and Swiss Cheese variants.

The next time you're craving for something cold, sweet, and refreshing, drop by Masatami Shave Ice for an icy treat!

Masatami Shave Ice is available in the following malls:
  • Glorietta 4 Cinema
  • Robinsons Galleria (fronting supermarket)
  • NEW! Robinsons Magnolia (basement, food court level)

Helen
