Careline Lipstick in Cotton Candy

Those who know me can attest my love for lipsticks. My sister told me that my blog should have been named "Lipstick Swatcher"! (Now why didn't I think of that?) This one is from Jen of Jenponix's love package. (Thanks, Jen!)

Careline Lipstick in Cotton Candy

I see Careline (together with Ever Bilena) a lot when I am in the department store or supermarket, and I like hovering around their counters since their products are all so colorful and tempting. This lipstick I have is actually the first (and certainly not the last) Careline product I own.

Pros:
  • The base of the tube contains the shade name, batch number, manufacturing date, and origin of the product. You'd know whether you're getting a new stock since the manufacturing date is clearly printed.

  • The lipstick is sealed. The ingredients are printed on the plastic seal of the packaging.

  • I was pleasantly surprised to see that this lipstick is pigmented. A few swipes will brighten up your face in an instant. Layer it on for a more dramatic look.

  • I am so loving the shade: bright pink with a tinge of purple. It looks sweet and it reminds me of the Spring trend makeup since it's fresh and bright. (I wish it were less metallic though; this is the only metallic lipstick I own since I'm not a big fan of that finish.) I'd pair this with groomed brows, black mascara, and light blush since the shade is already strong.

  • There are 8 fun shades to choose from.
  • It does not dry out my lips.
  • It's super duper affordable!

Cons:

  • The packaging is made of hard plastic that looks like it will easily crack when you drop it. (Be careful!)

  • The scent of this lipstick is a little too strong. It reminds me of kisses, as in those fragrant little things I used to play with as a kid. Don't worry, it's tolerable.

  • The lipstick does not last long on your lips. If you accidentally touch your lips, off comes the color. With normal wear, you'd have to reapply after 3 hours or so.

I like this kind of pink shade, it's the brightest pink lipstick I have in my kit as of now. If you're looking for other shades from this line, you're in luck since Careline Lipstick is available in 8 shades:

Will I repurchase?
  • Yes, either in Strawberry Cone, Taylor Red, or Swift Red. (Corny as it sounds, I got swayed by the "Taylor" "Swift" shade name! Haha!) I'll have to see which one is the reddest of them all, because I absolutely love red lipstick.

Price:
  • P100.00

Available at leading department stores, drugstores, and supermarkets nationwide.

Also part of my Careline wishlist are the following:

Careline Lip Gloss

I think this is exclusive for Robinsons Department Store, and I seldom go to Robinsons Malls so next time I drop by, I will definitely stalk the Careline counters for this.

Careline Magic Lip Gloss

I'm not a fan of lip gloss, I swear. I just want to try this out since they say it's a magic lip gloss. I love lippies that change color according to the wearer's body chemistry/temperature. I find them amazing.

What Careline products do you have? Care to share? :)

Love,
Helen

    1. That (frosty) is the perfect description! :D I like bold lip color because neutrals make me look so pale.

  2. Hmmm... I want the Careline glosses too, kaso Rob Manila has two colors left. Wonder kung mas marami sa Galleria... :)

I used to have this too but I gave it to my aunt. Cute color pero metallic kasi e. And I agree that it smells like kisses. :P

    1. Sobrang minsan lang ako pumunta sa Robinsons Malls, wala kasi malapit samin eh, puro SM lang. :) I'm not a big fan of the metallic finish, but I like it because it's bright and it pops. :)

  4. Hi, Helen!

Because of this post, I bought Taylor Red! I was at SM Makati, and saw it. Tapos, I remembered your post and went "sige na nga!" LOL! I have yet to wear it, though. Baka bukas.

I love how local brands are becoming better and better. EB, in particular, has gone miles.

    1. Wow! Thanks, Allie! :) I hope Taylor Red works out well for you. I'm planning to get a red shade from this line too, but have yet to visit their stalls. Tell me about it when you've tried it out. :D
