The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream

Just when I thought I was over BB creams.

See, for months I've been so loyal to my Ellana Loose Mineral Powder Foundation in Chai Tea Latte, which I've been using everyday for months (!). Being a beauty blogger, that means a lot since we get try out new makeup every so often.

When I got The Body Shop's newest Tea Tree BB Cream, I feel that I was going to like it, since it's literally makeup + skincare in one. It can cover pimples and treat it at the same time. The moment I tried it, I knew it was love.

About the product:

Perfect your complexion and fight the look of blemishes with our Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream. This dual action cream gives you flawless coverage whilst tackling the appearance of blemishes. Formulated with purifying Community Fair Trade organic tea tree oil from Kenya.
  • Blemishes and imperfections are instantly covered
  • Lightweight formula gives shine-free complexion
  • 2 shades blend seamlessly into all skin tones for natural-looking coverage

Ingredients:

Swatches:

It has a light and creamy texture that blends like a dream and disappears on my skin.

Bare skin

Wearing The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream

Pros:
  • It has medium coverage.
  • It comes in 2 universal shades: 01 Light and 02 Fair.
  • The shade 01 is a perfect match for my skin.
  • It's easy to blend into the skin.
  • It covers my pores.
  • It decreases the appearance of redness.
  • It treats and covers blemishes at the same time.
  • Because it's able to treat blemishes, I feel that this can prevent new blemishes from forming as well. Love! ♥

Cons:
  • It has no SPF.

Neutral:
  • It comes with a strong tea tree scent, inherent in all products from The Body Shop's Tea Tree skincare range. So may dislike it, but I don't mind.
  • It has average oil control. It took 4 hours before my nose started to get shiny.

Price: P795.00 for 40ml
Available in all The Body Shop stores nationwide
Buy the new Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream and get 25% off Tea Tree range until August 31, 2014!

Finally, a BB cream from The Body Shop that matched my skin tone and skin type perfectly! With this, I don't have the usual BB cream fears of getting a white cast or comedones (like whiteheads on my face) after several uses. The coverage is good, and when it's not hot outside, I can manage to wear this alone and skip the powder. The pros definitely outweighs the con here: I can always wear a SPF-spiked moisturizer underneath anyway. :D

Purederm Aloe Collagen Mask

Just last weekend, we had a hotpot party at my friend's place, and the dinner turned into an impromptu slumber party. I wasn't prepared at all: no skincare products at hand + sleeping during the wee hours of the morning + waking up early = dull, lackluster skin with a mini pimple on my nose. :\

As I went home and rummaged through my skincare stash, I saw this face mask I received a few months ago. It's been ages since I last used one, so now is really the perfect time to put it to the test!

Purederm Aloe Collagen Mask

Purederm is a Korean brand, and I trust Korean skincare products to work for my Asian skin, better than Western brands. Sorry not sorry! It's just that, it takes one to know one right? :D

Ingredients:

Pros:
  • It comes in a cute "bottle" sachet.
  • Manufacturing date is indicated on the packaging, and this one expires 3 years after the manufacturing date.
  • It's really moist and packed with skin-nourishing essence.
  • The essence is non-sticky, almost watery. I had to wipe my face with tissue a bit after removing the mask since my face felt so wet.
  • The mask felt so relaxing and it soothed my skin.
  • Redness from my skin was reduced.
  • It contains aloe and collagen - both known to be beneficial for the skin.
  • Not highlighted but also listed in the ingredients list are also anise fruit extract, green tea left extract, and witch hazel water, and Vitamin E.
  • It's affordable!

Cons:
  • The mask sheet is thin and flimsy. I accidentally tore the side of it with my fingernail while putting it on.

Price: P59.75
Available at Watsons

I used this at night before going to sleep. My skin looked instantly better, more well-rested and even, and the redness on the mini pimple (I just popped) has subsided by the time I woke up.

Our boss at work isn't kikay, but she swears by this particular face mask as her beauty secret. As for me, I'm thankful to have discovered and tried it as well. I've seen this countless times at Watsons, but never really cared until now. And because I liked it, I repurchased just this week! ♥

Whenever I go to Watsons, Korean beauty stores, or Beauty Bar, I always get lost into their face mask shelves and enter the world of Aloe, Collagen, Tea Tree, and even Bee Venom and Snail Mucus. Haha! Is it just me, or do you also get really excited when you hear of "hidden gem" face masks? ;)

Love,
Helen
