BDJ x Olay: Moisture That Lasts!

One lovely day, a package from BDJ and Olay arrived at my doorstep. I got this from answering a survey. :D

I loved the pouch that came with. But of course, I was more excited about what's inside!

Something classic, something new.

It contained a small sample of the classic cult favorite, Olay Total Effects 7 in One Day Cream and a big bottle of the new Deep Moisture Body Wash. Since I'm really into body care products, I rushed to the shower to try this one out as soon as I got it...then took product shots the next day.

Olay Deep Moisture Body Wash

About the product:

I love using body wash more than bar soap. The only time I use a bar soap is after hiking, when all I want is to strip off ALL traces of dirt away in a flash. For everyday use, it has to be body wash!

Olay Deep Moisture Body Wash has a thick creamy texture, very different from liquid body washes I've used before since this one's not runny at all. It has a sweet soapy scent and it takes only a small amount of product for it to lather, but you HAVE to use a bath lily with this. Everyday, I look forward to taking my warm, comforting night shower! True enough, it does leave my skin clean, soft, and supple. I skip lotion sometimes and my legs are still shiny and hydrated. While my all time favorite body wash from Olay is the Strawberry & Mint variant (just because anything with mint in it wins in my book), this one places a high second. My skin loves it. :D

Olay Total Effects 7 in One Day Cream

This one is a classic, since my Mom has been using this for YEARS! Yep, she won't try any of the moisturizers sent to me for review, since she's too loyal to Olay. But she does have a point, why divert when you've already found your HG fountain of youth?

Since we have a lot of stocks of this at home, I shared my tube with my friend who loved it the first time she tried it during a makeover session.

Thanks, BDJ and Olay, for the gift of beautiful skin with moisture that lasts! :D

Olay Natural White Body Bars (Vitamin C & Papaya Extract)

Here in the Philippines, you'd see an entire shelf at the supermarket dedicated to whitening products. Some of the more popular ones contain either kojic acid or papaya extracts, which are known for their effective skin lightening benefits. There are so many whitening soaps available in the market today, but if you're looking for something that gently reveals your skin's natural fairness without the tingling/burning sensation, then you might want to give these Olay Natural White Body Bars a try.

What's nice about these bars - they contain the same ingredients as Olay's skin creams. My first encounter with Olay was when I was a kid. I remember seeing my Mom use "Oil of Olay" moisturizer every night before going to sleep. Now, she uses Olay Total Effects. She wouldn't let anything else touch her face but Olay, and at 54 years old, she has good skin!

Olay Natural White Body Bars come in 2 variants: Papaya Extract (especially made for the Philippines) and Vitamin C.

Olay Natural White Healthy Fairness with Papaya Extract

About the product:

Papaya extract + Olay cream in a bar? I'd love that! :D Between the two variants, I actually like this one better because of its sweet, fruity scent.

Olay Natural White Healthy Fairness with Vitamin C

About the product:

This bar contains the same Vitamin C that's also used in face creams, so it's gentle and not likely to cause any stinging. This bar has a fresh, powdery scent.

Whenever I'd go on outdoor trips and get exposed to the sun, I'd turn pinkish then yellowish (ugh), but not really tanned. I'm more concerned with evening out my skin tone (like erasing the tan lines near my shoulders) versus whitening.

Given the nature of whitening soaps, I am glad that both variants do not easily melt. They lather well and make my skin feel really clean, fresh, and smooth. Olay Natural White Body Bars won't really make your skin drastically and unnaturally white. Instead, it just works on revealing your skin's natural fairness, giving it a more even, healthier look over time. However, these soaps aren't moisturizing so you may want to apply lotion afterwards.

Olay Natural White Body Bars are available in variety of sizes in leading supermarkets, drug stores, and sari-sari stores, starting at P15.00. Like Olay on Facebook for more information.

FREE Olay Total Effects Kit from BPI

I rarely read newspapers as I just get my news fix online or from the TV. Last January 12 (which was a Sunday), I had the luxury of time to read through the newspapers just for fun, then I chanced upon a promo from BPI.

Use your BPI ATM (E.P.S.) card to pay at least P500 anywhere and claim a one-time Olay Total Effects Kit for FREE!

To redeem, simply text: IM REG BPIOLAY (space) CARD NUMBER / MAILING ADDRESS / TRANSACTION DATE (MMDDYYYY) / TRANSACTION AMOUNT and send to 2256

Promo period is from November 15, 2013 to January 31, 2014, but redemption period is until April 1, 2014.

I personally don't have a BPI ATM card, but my sister does. It was so timely, since she bought something using her BPI ATM (as debit payment) the day before we saw the ad.

I texted the required details last January 12, 2014. Once validated, you will receive your Olay Total Effects Kit within 15 days. We received this Olay Total Effects Kit yesterday via Air21.

The FREE Olay Total Effects Kit is valued at P200.

It contains a sample tube of Olay Total Effects Day Cream SPF 15 and an Olay Total Effects Intense Moisture Bar.

This promo is for those with BPI ATM (debit cards) and not credit cards. I wish banks would offer more of these, since I don't own a single credit card! :D

Tell me if you were able to get your FREE Olay Total Effects Kit from BPI, too!

Olay Age Defying Revitalizing Body Wash

Olay Age Defying Revitalizing Body Wash is one of my nice supermarket finds. There's also a full-sized version of this, but for the purpose of travel, I got the cute version.

Olay Age Defying Revitalizing Body Wash (P25.00)
with Multiple Vitamins and Firming Creme

The purple label on the bottle looks good together with my purple bath lily. :D

Ingredients:

Top ingredients are petrolatum (petroleum jelly) and sulfates! I'm not too crazy about these. It also contains Naicinamide, which is present in Olay face moisturizers.

It comes in a super handy packaging, perfect for travel! The size is perfect for those who want to try before buying the big bottle. This body wash lathers up well, especially when used with a bath lily. It has a creamy, lotion-like texture, and it does its job well with cleaning the skin without leaving it dry and tight afterwards. I can actually skin lotion from time to time whenever I use this. My skin is left soft, with a mild, lingering fragrance.

Are you also an Olay user? Which Olay product have you tried, and how do you find it?

Helen

Olay Natural White Bar

Olay Natural White Healthy Fairness with Vitamin C was launched less than a month ago and I was super excited to try it out, since I have been using their soaps for quite some time.

Olay says:
Reveal your skin's natural radiance with Olay Natural White Healthy Fairness body bar! Formulated with certain Olay facial skin care ingredients, Olay Natural White Healthy Fairness with Vitamin C helps maintain your skin's natural fairness to bare your skin's radiance.

Pros:
  • It smells fresh (not overpowering). The scent lingers mildly on the skin.
  • It lathers well and is easy to wash off.
  • The soap had a harder texture (compared to the past Olay body bars), which means it won't easily melt in your soap dish.

Cons:
  • Because of its harder texture (as mentioned above), this bar is not as creamy as past versions of Olay bars. This soap left a clean but dry feeling on my skin. I am not a huge fan of the "squeaky clean" feeling after shower because I feel that my skin was stripped off all of its moisture.
  • I can't tell if there is really a brightening effect on my skin. It works like a regular soap to me.

Would I repurchase? No. But I would try the new Age Defying bar to see if it is any better than the previous version.
Price: P45.00
Available at leading supermarkets and drugstores nationwide.

Have you tried the new Olay body bars? How did you like it?

Love,
Helen
