Pros:

• It comes in a universal (clear) shade.
• It blurs out fine lines and minor blemishes - giving skin a soft-focused effect.
• It has no scent.
• It has no SPF, hence no white cast, making the skin photo-ready even with flash photography.
• It has Vitamin E and marula oil to moisturize the skin.
• It has powders to mattify the skin.
• It feels velvety smooth on the skin.
• It controls oil for a long time - no shine even after 6 hours. When my nose starts getting shiny, I just blot with an oil-control film and I don't top if off with powder. My makeup still looks fresh by then.
• It makes my makeup last longer.
• Very recommended for oily skin! 

Cons:

• It has no tint or coverage.
• It contains dimethicone.

I'll share with you a really simple look using just 4 of my favorite, trusty products from The Body Shop.

The finish is poreless and matte, and I can just add on a highlighter if I want a dewy finish.

I don't use Instablur every single day, since it still contains silicone. Silicone (which came in the form of dimethicone for this product) is inherent in most makeup bases/primers, as it fills in the dips and craters on the surface of your skin, resulting in a smooth, even surface for your base to cling on to. However, it may clog pores when it's not thoroughly removed at the end of the day.

I like using The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur when I know I'm going to have a long day ahead, when I know it'll be hot or humid and I don't want my makeup to melt off, or when there are special events I have to attend. Can't risk an oily face when there will be lots of pictures taken! I love how easy it is for me to achieve a perfect base makeup whenever I use Instablur.

Selfies are all the rage, but wouldn't it be nice if we could do away with the filters and show the world our natural beauty?

The Body Shop's newest product, All-In-One Instablur, promises to blur your skin's imperfections, so there won't be any need to retouch your photos.

The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur

This all-new face perfector blurs imperfections, giving you flawless photo-perfect skin in an instant! With Community Fair Trade marula oil.

This product is a makeup base/primer, which you apply after skincare and before makeup. (You can also use it alone for a matte, makeup-free look.) It's part of the All-In-One range from The Body Shop, which means it functions as both skincare and makeup. It contains Vitamin E and marula oil to moisturize the skin, and powders to mattify the skin at the same time.

It comes in a universal shade, so you don't have to worry about shade matching here. It is easy to spread, and the moment you blend it in, your skin would feel velvety smooth. My favorite part is when it blurs out my huge pores! I have oily skin, and this managed to make my makeup last all day - I only had to blot my nose once in the late afternoon.

Photo retouching gives us all an unrealistic perception of how we should all look like, that's why The Body Shop has a No Retouch Policy on their posters and ads. (The size and body shape of the models aren't altered, but they do make small adjustments to color and minor imperfections.)
