Collective Masks Review: Bling Pop, MegRhythm, Medi Heally, Mediheal, Quick FX

I've tried a couple of masks for the past few weeks I've stayed at home, so here's a collective review.

Bling Pop Rice Bran Brightening Mask
Serum contains 1000 ppm of Niacinamide and rice bran extract that brighten skin and boost radiance

Pros:
  • Cute, eye-catching, candy-colored packaging
  • Silky soft and flexible material for the mask
  • Great fit!
  • Subtle, almost unnoticeable fragrance
  • 4th ingredient: Niacinamide for maximum skin brightening
  • 5th ingredient: Trehalose as hydrator and antioxidant

Cons:
  • None

Price: PHP 119
Available at SM Beauty/Watsons

MegRhythm Gudetama Steam Warming Eye Mask (bought from Taiwan)

One of my cutest buys from Taiwan! This cutie is not available in the Philippines, but MegRhythm has a plain unscented variant that works the same. You leave this mask on for 20 minutes, and it warms up to 40°C. This is very relaxing, especially when my eyes are too tired and are already tearing up from PC use.

Medi Heally Warm Herbal Patch

I used to think this product was gimmicky, but I still bought a box to try. I love it! You're supposed to stick it on your undergarment/innerwear, not directly on the skin. It instantly warms up and the warm feeling lasts all day. It's like you have a warm compress on your abdomen all day. Genius product!

Price: PHP 210 per box of 3 at Althea Korea
Also available in Shopee (cheaper to buy here)

Mediheal Teatree Care Solution Essential Mask Ex

This mask has a unique design, it has the "Mediheal" logo pressed on the entire sheet mask. It contains tea tree leaf oil, chamomile extract, and centella asiatica extract. It has a glossy/shiny finish and the essence feels a bit sticky but tolerable. Not bad, but not a favorite of mine.

Price: PHP 99
Available at SM Beauty/Watsons

Quick FX Sculpt Tightening Face Mask

Pros:
  • Super nice fit
  • No noticeable scent
  • No dripping, just the right amount of serum
  • Lightweight essence (almost like a hydrating toner texture)
  • Zero sticky feel
  • My skin drinks this up in seconds, very easily absorbed
  • Skin looks glowing and healthy right after!
  • Not dewy unlike other face masks that look shiny on the skin, but more of lit from within glow
  • Affordable for its quality

Cons:
  • Supposed to be none, but don't be like me. I liked the essence so much, I reused the remaining product the next few days and doing so broke me out. LOL

Price: P89
Available in SM Beauty/Watsons

All the masks I reviewed here are made in Korea, except for the MegRhythm eye mask which is made in Japan.

Love,
Helen

Swatches: Clio Pro Eye Palette 01 Simply Pink

Because of the Enhanced Community Quarantine, I've been working from home for almost a month now. I love working from home, but I miss putting on makeup everyday. I think this is the longest time I've gone makeup free.

And so, I finally got the chance to play with some of my makeup palettes because apart from my day job and household chores, there's nothing much to do. 😂

First makeup palette I'm going to share with you is Clio Pro Eye Palette in 01 Simply Pink. Isn't it gorgeous? I got this from winning the flatlay contest at the SM K-Beauty Playground!

From left to right:
First hug, Letter me, Papi, Love jam, Serendipity
Love lies, Lucky you, Love maze, Time to love, One kiss

This palette comes in different pink hues that look sweet and is perfect for everyday wear. The shades actually have that "bridal beauty" vibe. It's comprised of matte, glitter, pearl, and crystal glitter eyeshadows. This palette is very easy to wear as you can just use a single shade to enhance your eyes, same as the eye looks above. Tip: The glittery shades are best applied using fingers for minimal fallout.

Price: P1,750
Available at SM Beauty
Also available online at Shopee & Zalora

Helen

Yadah Auto Lip Crayon Review

When it comes to red lipstick, I usually gravitate towards blue-based reds. This one's an exception as I've found a flattering yellow-based red lipstick that actually suits me!

Yadah Auto Lip Crayon in 01 Dazzling Red

Yadah Auto Lip Crayon formula treats lips to rich color with a soft-matte finish.

Swatch

Yadah Auto Lip Crayon applies smoothly without being too slippery. When applied sparingly using your finger, it looks like a red lip tint. When applied full on, it's a flattering shade of red that looks vibrant but still appropriate for day wear. It suits my pale skin, and makes my face look less tired. The scent is fruity, but there's no detectable flavor. It contains avocado oil, macadamia seed oil, and apricot kernel oil. It's not drying and it feels comfortable on my lips. It doesn't transfer too much when drinking or snacking, but retouch is a must after meals.

Ingredients
Price: P450

Hope you liked my short review! 💋

Love,
Helen

Review: Quick Fx Pimple Eraser & CC Cream

I've been seeing Quick Fx products in Watsons for the longest time, and when I attended the SM K-Beauty Playground, these products were part of my loot. To be honest, I wasn't too interested in these at first as they looked like sample sachets, but it was M who told me that Pimple Eraser had a lot of good reviews and was always sold out. And so I got curious!

Quick Fx products are made in Korea. After using these for months, I finally appreciated the packaging as they're actually convenient and mess-free. I bring CC Cream in my gym bag to calm down the redness on my face post-workout, and I bring Pimple Eraser with me in my office kikay kit everyday.

Helps dry up pimples diminish and reduce dark spots due to scarring and helps protect against the sun.

Pros:
  • Convenient and mess-free sachet packaging with cap
  • Lightweight and travel-friendly
  • Just the right size for trial
  • Manufacturing and expiry date indicated on the packaging
  • Contains zinc oxide, glycolic acid, niacinamide, salicylic acid, and vitamin C
  • Dries up my pimples quickly

Cons:
  • Contains mineral oil (as 2nd ingredient) and petrolatum

Price: PHP 59

Despite my initial apprehension with it containing mineral oil and petrolatum (which are pore-clogging ingredients), I still tried it for the sake of review. (That's the job of a beauty blogger.) Surprisingly, it dries up my pimples fast. And whenever I feel bumps forming on my face by midday, or there's an itchy spot on my face, I just apply the Pimple Eraser and the it stops the pimples in its tracks. I'm amazed! I use this only as needed; in the morning before putting on makeup, by midday when I feel a pimple forming, and/or also in the evening, but not everyday.

Color correct formulation that conceals hydrates and protects in one application helps illuminate the skin for a healthy glow.

Pros:
  • Convenient and mess-free sachet packaging with cap
  • Lightweight and travel-friendly
  • Just the right size for trial
  • Manufacturing and expiry date indicated on the packaging
  • Contains sodium hyaluronate, zinc oxide, fruit extracts, and v-peptide
  • Self-adjusting universal shade
  • Minimizes redness
  • Blurs pores
  • Natural dewy finish
  • Hydrating, doesn't accentuate dry patches
  • Feels like a tinted moisturizer
  • Skin feels soft after I remove the CC cream at the end of the day

Cons:
  • Light coverage
  • Wears off and looks oily in hot weather

Price: PHP 99

While I like Pimple Eraser, I was not too impressed with the CC Cream. It's good for when you're staying indoors in an air-conditioned environment. For example, I like using this after I take a shower in the gym as it cancels out my skin's redness post-workout. I use it also on weekends when my family and I go to the mall. But I won't use this when I have to commute to work on a hot day as it makes me look oily. Also, the coverage is light only, so it's good only if you're skin isn't problematic to begin with.

Swatches:

Pimple Eraser & CC Cream

When worn:

Wearing Quick Fx CC Cream alone on the face

As of now, I've used up half of my Pimple Eraser sachet and I'm pretty sure I will use it up in a few weeks time. I don't think I'll be able to finish the CC Cream, unless the weather gets any cooler here which is very unlikely. 😆

Now, I'm curious with other Quick Fx products! Which ones have you tried?

Love,
Helen

SM K-Beauty Playground

Annyeong, chingu! 👯

Yesterday was a fun day because I was invited to play inside the SM K-Beauty Playground at SM Makati. I love how SM Beauty brought together all our favorite K-Beauty brands under one roof!

From K-Drama, K-Pop, to K-Beauty, the world has fallen in love with all things Korean. And the Philippines has gone a long way from loving sheet masks to embracing the entire Korean skincare routine.

💖 My SM K-Beauty Playground Passport 💖

I was handed this pink passport and I had to complete the activities to win K-Beauty goodies. SO FUN! 😍😍😍

1. K-Beauty Quiz

I took a simple quiz to determine what K-Beauty skincare trend fits me, and the answer was SUN STICK. For completing the quiz, I received these iWhite Korea Sleeping Gel Masks.

2. Sheet Mask Galore

For this activity, I had to guess the number of sheet masks on the shelf. The answer 150 was whispered to me by my beauty angel Kaycee. HAHA! Labyuuu! 😉 I got tons of sheet masks from Esfolio as prizes.

3. Be a Selfie Leader

I have written about rediscovering Leaders on my IG. For this activity, I took photos of Leaders products that piqued my interest and posted it on my IG Stories.

They have 4 variants of Primer Mask and they're at buy 1 get 1 for only PHP 69! You're supposed to use this 5 minutes before makeup application. Super curious about this. I got this variant from the event, so I'll be reviewing it soon!

Leaders Pore Covering Primer is perfect for oily skin! They have a pink tube which is for skin brightening. I love how they have expanded their product line; from mask sheets, they now have makeup that's exclusively sold here in the Philippines!

Leaders AC Control Concealer Real Derma Cover Make-up is made to cover your pimples. The active ingredients of this concealer is similar to the AC-Dressing Skin Clinic Mask.

4.  Beauty Catch

I'm always a victim of claw machines without grip (ugh), but this time was fun. I didn't catch anything, but they still made me pick a prize and I got 3 AHC Cellulose Masks (worth PHP 249 each). AHC is now available at Lazada!

5. Stack Up

Took a selfie with CosRX and got CosRX mini skincare products!

6. Match the Tiles

Another easy game! I matched 3 tiles and got minis from Dear, Klairs. I have the same mini Supple Preparation Toner bottle at home, while my sister has a big tub of Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask.

7. Pick a Pink

I have yet to try Banila Co makeup, but I have a tub of their iconic Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm at home. I brought some of it to my Taiwan trip last month and I like it because it's travel-friendly - no spills!

For this activity, I picked a pink ball from the bowl and got Banila Co Dear Hydration Mini Duo Kit containing toner, cotton pads, and boosting cream. I WILL bring these to my next travel, definitely!

8. Guess the Lip Shade

I had to match the lip shades on the board and I got freebies from Dear Dahlia, Kocostar, and a full sized iWhite Korea BB.Holic Everyday BB Cream. I initially got the Beige shade, but had it exchanged to Light. Notice the limited edition holographic packaging - they're launching it on 10.30.19!

9. K-Beauty Ball

Shoot the ball inside the pink box and win makeup, shoot it inside the blue box and win skincare. I initially wanted makeup - Vice Cosmetics BT21 Eyeshadow Palette (!!!) but my ball went inside the blue box and won me some skincare. I'm currently using Fresh Skinlab Jeju Aloe Ice as moisturizer, so I welcomed this sunblock and Seoul White Korea goodies! I've been curious about the soap as it's a mild kojic soap, so I'm excited to try it out as well.

10. Mediheal x BTS

Your tita Helen downloaded Tiktok for this. Hay, the things I do for skincare. Haha! 😤 For this activity, I got 2 Mediheal masks (YAY) and BTS photos which my sister took away from me as soon as I got home.

11. Annyeong, Oppa

Last activity: Take a photo with the resident oppa. I texted M first para hindi siya magselos sa cardboard oppa. HAHA! 😝 Then they gave me iWhite Korea stuff again!

Visiting the flagship K-Beauty zone in SM Makati is like being in Myeongdong without having to leave Philippines. Achieve the perfect K-Beauty look with the help of these bestsellers:

  • Skincare - CosRX, Dear Klairs, Neogen, Mediheal, Leaders, Banila Co, AHC, Esfolio, The Saem, Dewytree, Face Republic, iWhite, Seoul White, Luxe Organix, Fresh, Bling Pop, Jayjun, SNP
  • Cosmetics: BLK (Korean line), Yadah, Club Clio, Peripera, Vice BT21 line

Whether you're after the signature doll like makeup, glowing hydrated skin, or both, you can get your Korean beauty products at the SM K-Beauty Playground. According to Viki Encarnacion, Customer Director of Watsons/SM Beauty, they will be bringing in MORE brands in the coming days. Sounds pretty exciting to me! 😍
