Something New: Safeguard Derma Sense

Safeguard is a brand that has lasted through the years. My Dad has been using their bar soaps since I was a kid! Not only do their soaps smell really fresh, they also protect us and our loved ones from germs. Way back during my elementary school days, hand sanitizers began to trend (Anyone remember this? LOL) and inside my bag (and also my sisters' bags) were small bottles of Safeguard Hand Sanitizer. You could pretty much say, Safeguard is a part of our family's daily lives.

Just recently, they've launched a new skincare line called Derma Sense which targets 2 major skin concerns: acne prone skin and sensitive skin. Derma Sense has an antibacterial ingredient that targets the germs that cause acne, resulting in clearer skin. This range is dermatologist-tested to reduce mild to moderate acne and is gentle on the skin (despite the clinical look).

Safeguard Derma Sense for Acne Prone Skin

Summer - you either love it or hate it. I'd choose a sunny day over a gloomy rainy one, but hot weather can cause excessive sweating that may lead to germs and bacteria getting trapped inside your pores, causing acne on the face, neck, and back. Safeguard Derma Sense for Acne Prone Skin addresses this concern and this range comes in 3 products - facial wash, body wash, and bar soap.

Safeguard Derma Sense Facial Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin (P199)

If you're to pick just one from the range, I'd recommend this facial wash because it contains Salicylic acid which lifts away dead skin cells and stops them from clogging our pores. (Salicylic acid is my secret to a clear complexion.) This facial wash comes in a creamy formula designed to "push in" the Salicylic Acid into our skin for better results. It also contains niacinamide to brighten up our skin.

This one's marketed as Face & Body Wash, but I prefer to use this only on my chest and back. The hot summer months has taken a toll on my skin: sweat, sunblock, excess oil and all! This one feels cool on the skin, and helps dry up bacne too!

For those who prefer no-frills cleansing, bar soap is also available. Same as the Face & Body Wash from this range, I prefer to just use this on my body. Bar soaps (in general) might be drying for facial skin.

The Derma Sense range for Acne Prone Skin feels so refreshing and is so perfect for summer. Even if I don't have huge zits as of the moment (and I won't ever want to have them), this range serves as a good preventive measure for acne.

Safeguard Derma Sense for Sensitive Skin

Derma Sense also has a range of products for those with sensitive skin.

Safeguard Derma Sense Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin (P199)

This is probably one of the gentlest facial washes I've tried. It's mild and unscented, and it left my skin feel really soft and supple afterwards.

While I'm recommending the Face & Body Wash for Acne Prone Skin for bacne problems, I'm quite excited to say that I find Derma Sense Face & Body Wash very useful. Because it's gentle, I had no reservations on using it on my face and body.

If you prefer bathing with bar soap, the Derma Sense Sensitive Skin range also has it!

I'm most excited for the Derma Sense for Acne Prone Skin Facial Cleanser (mostly because of the salicylic acid) and the cooling Face & Body Wash. Will let you know how it goes soon!

Helen

  1. I have so many Skincare Snippets lined up, I won't be able to try this any time soon. Both aren't targeted for me pa since I have neither acne prone nor sensitive skin :))
