My Skin Saver: Celeteque Acne Solutions

Early November, I've developed a couple of cystic acne on my chin. They just popped out, one after another. In the end, I had about 6 of them all concentrated on just one area. My friends say the cause is either hormonal imbalance, stress, or toothpaste. I might just have found the culprit, which is the toothpaste I use in the office! I only found out when my sister and I were staring at the mirror, and she mentioned that she had cystic acne on her chin. Then I found out we've been using the same toothpaste. o_o

During this time, I was desperate for a cure since I wasn't used to having cystic acne. I'm more used to the small whiteheads type which isn't painful or noticeable. I then remembered having a couple of Celeteque samples in my drawer. I'm actually scared when it comes to experimenting with skincare products, but I figured, since my skin was already "broken", I had nothing to lose. So go! At first, I only intended to use them on the affected areas, but I I found that I can use them all over my face without causing any irritations.

The Celeteque Acne Solutions products I used both come in a clear gel formula. Because of that, it looked gentle and "harmless" to me and my oily skin. These 2 products are dermatologist tested, hypo-allergenic, and non-comedogenic.

Celeteque Acne Solutions Acne Cleansing Gel
Price: P130.00/50ml

Because I wanted to zap those cystic acne out of my life (and my face), I resorted to washing my face during lunch time at work, even if it meant erasing my makeup. (Afterwards, I'd just reapply pressed powder.) What I liked about this facial wash is that it's clear (free from colorants), gentle, and non-drying for something that works against acne. It foams up nicely, and it leaves my face so soft to touch after each wash. The scent is quite mild; it reminds me of the Lactacyd Blue (the one used for babies, not the feminine wash).

Celeteque Acne Solutions Acne Clearing Facial Moisturizer Gel
Price: P355.00/50ml

With my bout with cystic acne, I did the mistake of bombarding my skin with my salicylic acid-based toner. Yes, it dried out my skin, but no, it didn't really work against those stubborn zits. (My skin might have gotten used to the particular toner, hitting a skincare plateau after 7 bottles!) The the skin around my chin flaked, which made it hard to apply makeup. Then, I decided to use this moisturizer.

Remember when I kept on saying that I skip moisturizer at night? Now I don't have to, because of this one! I used this every chance I got - like morning, noon, and night. What I love about this moisturizer is that it's in gel form (not cream), which is more ideal for my oily skin. Its cooling sensation is rather soothing for troubled skin, too. I've used this consistently, religiously for more than 2 weeks, and I can finally say, IT WORKS! The existing acne I had dried up, and the emerging, painful, under your skin ones didn't come out anymore. (I wish I had pictures to back this review up, but I couldn't bear to and I didn't want to immortalize my acne via pictures!) The only con with this one is that the skin looks a bit shiny after application, and sticky while the product hasn't been fully absorbed by the skin, and my skin felt a bit tighter than usual when I have this on. But in about 2-3 minutes, skin feels okay, not sticky, and ready for makeup!

I'll be checking out the entire Celeteque Acne Solutions range out, especially the ones I haven't tried yet like the toner and spot corrector. As for these 2 products I've tried, I'll definitely be repurchasing!

What Celeteque products have you tried, and which one can you recommend? For now, like Celeteque on Facebook for more information and updates!

Love,
Helen

  1. I have pretty bad acne too, thanks for sharing these products ^_^
It's so weird because you suggested that the reason for the breakout was because of toothpaste, but i've heard that toothpaste can help cure acne o_O

    1. Celeteque is a local brand in the Philippines, but I think some of their products are manufactured internationally. They have a broad range of products for every skin concern. :)

Thank for following me back, Emiri! ♥

    2. Nope, celeteque's factory is in the Philippines specifically in San Juan. I heard that celeteque is sold only here in the Philippines that's why there are some users only go here in the Philippines just to buy celeteque products.

    3. Yup, they have a factory here. But if you check the label, I've seen some of their products made in other country such as Thailand.

  4. Aww! This is exactly what I need right now. I'm also experiencing the same thing on my chin area but how can it be my toothpaste when it's the same brand I've been using for years? :( I hope I figure it out soon because it's driving me nuts and I don't think I can get a hold of Celeteque here.

Anyway, I nominated you for the Liebster Award. I don't know if you already got it before but I hope you'd do it..? Errr? Maybe? Hihi.

    1. For my case, I just recently changed the toothpaste I was using in the office. If you've been using the same one for years, but had just recently had a breakout, it could be from stress or hormones.

Yup, I saw the post! Thank you for the award! I enjoyed reading your Q&A. ♥

  19. Hi, I just stumbled upon your blog this morning, and in the afternoon I bought the whole acne solutions range. I'm excited to try it. I never had skin problems. For some reasons it all started when I was in my 20s. After having a kid, moving to a different continent, and being on a new birth control, having had some facials, and starting to use ponds moisturizer. I don't know which factor caused it but it started with a stubborn pimple followed by small bumps and areas with recurring "up-side-down" pimples. Now, I have these small bumps everywhere on my forehead and chin. It's really frustrating because countless trips to the derma weren't helping much in curing my problem. I also tried cetaphil, green tea toner, and sugar exfoliation. But with mediocre results. Sorry for the long post. My question actually is: should I apply everything 3 times a day? You mentioned washing your face during lunch time, do you also apply toner and moisturizer before your powder? Thanks in advance!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh wow! Thanks for trusting my blog. It means a lot. :)

I can relate to the "upside down pimples". When we were teens, it used to be the T-zone that has pimples, but adult acne usually happens on the U-zone. I get that a lot too around my chin, always there. Oh well. This could be due to hormones, too. And, I steer clear of Pond's. I tried their moisturizer once, and it made my skin itch in a matter of minutes. Good thing my skin reacts fast to products that aren't suitable for my skin, so I washed it off immediately.

Usually, I just use the cleaner-moisturizer duo (not trio, since I don't have the toner yet) AM and PM. But on days I break out with big nasty bumps, I wash and moisturize during lunch time, then when it dries, I just apply a light layer of powder. (I don't apply too much makeup on days like that to help my skin heal.)

  21. Hi there! ive just started using the celeteque acne solution toner. Just wanna ask, can i use it just before bedtime only? Or should i use it twice a day for a better result? Coz im afraid baka kasi masunog ang face if i apply it on mornings kasi student lang ako madalas minsan lumabas sa school and my face will expose sa sun lalo na pag tanghali. Di kasi ako madalas gumamit ng payong. And what if i will use the celeteque moisturizer and the facial gel sa umaga at gabi tapos na eexpose yung skin ko sa sun sa tanghali what would you advice po?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Sa gabi lang talaga ako nag totoner, just to remove excess dirt and makeup my cleanser has left behind. Pag naclean mo mabuti yung skin mo sa gabi, no need for toner in the morning. As for the gel, I also prefer to use it at night kasi may salicylic acid, di ok maexpose sa sun. Pero pag may malaking pimple ako, naglalagay parin ako sa umaga, then sunblock para sure. Di rin kasi ako mapayong. :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Perhaps you sleep on the right side of your face. Try changing your pillow case often, puede every few days or every week. It might help. For acne, the topical treatment is always more effective than the facial wash, so facial wash is not enough.

  35. Hello! I just bought the Celeteque Acne Clearing Facial Moisturizer Gel and the Celeteque toner recently from Watsons. I have never used these kinds of products yet because I really have sensitive skin and I'm afraid to try products that may harm my skin. The reason why I bought them was because right before I started 11th grade, pimples started to show up on my forehead, I had no problem because my mom said that it was normal BUT when these disappeared, they left dark spots. The dark spots were really uncomfortable because it could easily be seen. Okay na sana yung pimples lang kasi mawawala din naman but they left dark spots then my mom noticed more pimples started to appear when school started. But what scared me the most was that these pimples might leave dark spots again and alas, they really did! So I told my mom that I would buy skincare products that might help me with my issue.
Anyway, I have been a user of Celeteque for probably 8 years now. I've been using Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer ever since I was little because it was my derma's solution for the white patches on my face and it really worked for me. So here I am, still using it. 8 years and counting! Hahaha! This explains why I chose Celeteque, I am currently using the Hydration Facial Moisturizing in the morning and the toner and acne clearing gel in the evening. :)

    1. Wow! Super tagal mo ng Celeteque user. :) I'm currently using the Acne Solutions toner and gel moisturizer. I used to find the toner drying, but now I love it because it removes ALL traces of dirt. Akala ko clean na face ko, then the cotton becomes yellowish. :o Favorite acne buster <3

      Delete
    2. I always recommend Celeteque to my friends who have the same skin issues with me. The Hydration Moisturizer for a student like me is kind of pricey but it's worth it naman because the white patches never came back. I can't tell much about the acne solution products I'm using because I just used it pa for a few days but I agree with you sa yellowish cotton part. Hahah! I usually wash my face before I sleep with soap tapos the Celeteque Hydration Moisturizer (because it can be used morning and evening) but when I just started to use the toner the other night, I observed na naging yellowish din yung cotton ko so all this time, I have been putting the hydration moisturizer with my face not completely clean yet! That's what I can say pa naman with the toner. I really like it and I'm probably going to avail it once my current toner runs out. Regarding the gel moisturizer, medyo nabaguhan ako kasi it kind of creates this 'tight' feeling like you said sa review and yes, nagiging shiny din yung face ko after applying the gel moisturizer (cant selfie kasi nagrereflect yung lights sa bahay namin sa mukha ko LOL) but so far, maganda naman. Basta i-maintain ko lang and of course, avoid stress. :)

    3. Puede mo siya gamitin sa night lang, then sa day un hydration para selfie-ready parin. Haha :) True, avoid stress talaga! :D Thanks so much for sharing your insights.
