Alviera Go Play: The World's First Game Show-Inspired Playground!

Alviera is hosting the world's first game show-inspired playground in the heart of Sandbox this coming June 11, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. I went to the media preview last Friday at TGI Fridays Glorietta so I could share with you the news. Clue: IT'S EXCITING!

I'm not the most outgoing person there is, but despite being very kikay, I've been to a couple of hiking adventures, and I've conquered Sandbox and Camp N! My Panda, on the other hand, loves game shows and even hosted The Game Crew for our circle of friends! So we're both excited for Go Play!

Hello, Zorb ball! You look like a lot of fun. :D

Before the event started, lunch was served. Oh TGI Fridays, you never fail to serve good food!

This one-day summer festival is our huling hirit sa tag-init, since it's starting to get rainy already. If you're familiar with TV shows Takeshi's Castle, Wipeout, and Gladiators, then you have an idea what to expect - outdoor fun AND wacky games! Weee!

Alviera Go Play takes off on Saturday, June 11 at SandBox, a full day of lively games, mental and physical challenges, foamy frolic, bouncy inflatables, prizes, food, and music.
Over a dozen simultaneous games and activities will keep you, family, and friends entertained throughout the day.

Zorb suit

Take part in the craziness of Human Foosball, keep singing through Wacky Karaoke, run in sumo suits through Sumo Relay, play Agawan Base dressed in a zorb ball, or manage three lay-ups with binoculars on in Binocular Basketball. Try to kick a goal without wobbling, but only after spinning yourself silly in Dizzy Penalty Kick. There’s Buzzingo, Extreme Jack & Poy, Brain Games, Photo Mission, and more!

Inflatable slide

Inflatable play area

There’s a foam bash party every hour where a local DJ will be onstage to play the summer’s soundtrack. An inflatable play area will be open for kids aged 13 years old and below.

Inflatable obstacle course

Not to be missed is a water obstacle course where players have to avoid giant swinging balls to get to the end! I've seen these kinds of games on TV, and they're fun to watch. What more if you're the one playing? :D

Here's the COMPLETE list of activities you can enjoy in Alviera Go Play:

REGULAR ACTIVITIES
  • Wacky Inflatable Challenge – Bounce, crawl, climb and conquer the course in less than 2 minutes.
  • Breakout Philippines Escape Room Game – Sample the country’s premier escape room game! Form a team, find clues and escape before time runs out.
  • The Drink Challenge – Slip and slide to get your bottled beverage’s contents on to a giant mug. Then run and tag your teammates during this relay. Finally, all of you must slip and slide back to your mug and sip the mug empty with straws.
  • Binocular Basketball – Can you manage 3 lay-ups in 2 minutes wearing a binocular helmet?
  • Human Foosball – Exactly what it sounds like, with players stuck to a moving pole and tasked with scoring a goal.
  • Agawan Base – Zorb Edition – Charge your way to an enemy’s base in the ultimate roll-around costume. Roll, bounce and repeat, all while in a zorb ball.
  • Explore the Unknown – Collect objects from different containers while blindfolded to win the prize. Nothing icky in there, right? Maybe.
  • Dizzy Penalty Kick – Spin around and then make a dizzy attempt to score a penalty kick, with 4 other competitors around you.
  • The Gladiator – Face off against an opponent on the pedestal platform while everything but the kitchen sink is thrown at you. First one to do 5 knockdowns wins!
  • Sumo Relay – Race against time in sumo suits!
  • Photo Mission – Here are 10 pictures for your team to replicate as accurately as possible. Submit them anytime you think you’ve got them perfect.
  • Brain Games – Your team has got to put its head together for some mind exercises to solve puzzles and illusions.
  • Communication Game – A team member must direct his mates to correctly arrange items on the floor, except they’re all blindfolded.
  • Caterpillar Run – The team steps inside a circular tarpaulin track and must walk in unison as the track passes through their hands. Sounds simple but can you do it within 3 minutes?

EXTREME ACTIVITIES
  • Buzzingo – An absurdly fun version of Bingo (yes, Bingo!) that will only be played 3 times during the day. It will not require points to participate but players will have to risk their tickets for Bingo cards. Winning will get you 1,000 tickets!
  • Extreme Jack & Poy – Risk 5 tickets and try to win 6 consecutive battles in a contest that knows no age, skill, experience or gender. The winner takes all the tickets of the losing individual.

MORE FUN STUFF
  • Foam Bash – Dance around the foam pit set up in front of the stage every hour as local DJs spin some cool summer hits.
  • Inflatable Play Area – Open for children 13 years old and below.
  • Food Stalls – Players and visitors won’t go hungry with a wide array of food entres.

Alviera Go Play runs like an outdoor arcade where players can earn more tickets or exchange them for prizes.

Registration rates:
  • P800 - Regular Go Player (10 points)
  • P1,200 - Extreme Go Player (20 points)
  • P600* - Go Kids Player (10 points)
    • For children aged 7 and below
    • Kids must be at least 4-feet tall to participate in any activity

Each activity requires points to join in. Every successful activity gains a player more points.

A point refilling station will be set up, as well as a prize area where winners can exchange points for souvenir items. Collect the tickets you win and exchange them for stuffed toys, t-shirts, the latest gadget, or even an all-expense paid trip for 4 to Boracay!

Refill packages:
  • P60 for 1 point
  • P100 for 2 points
  • P200 for 5 points
  • P500 for 15 points

How to join:
  • Option 1: Online reservation and payment
  • Option 2: Bank deposit
  • Option 3: Walk-inthe Breakout Philippines offices along Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City
*Visit goplay.com.ph for payment options. On-site registration in Alviera on June 11, 2016 is also accepted but will be limited only!

The outdoor adventure never stops. Two years ago, I've been to Sandbox. I liked it, but found it to still have a lot of space for more attractions. Go Play is one of the thrilling additions, even if it's just there for 1 special day. Go Players will be entitled to discounted tickets to SandBox attractions like the Giant Swing, Aerial Walk, Adventure Tower free fall, wall climbing, and Avatar One roller coaster zipline.

Alviera Go Play is another one of Alviera's signature events to cap off the summer - the kind that lets everyone participate in the fun and appreciate the outdoors! For more information, visit goplay.com.ph.

Cadbury 5Star Launch

There's no such thing as too much chocolate! :D When I got an invite to the launch of Cadbury 5 Star, I said yes instantly! It's Cadbury, guys!

So what exactly is this new chocolate sensation?

The new Cadbury 5Star is a fusion of chocolate with chewy caramel and crunchy biscuits center filling - one bite and you’ll think you can do anything! This brings chocolate fun and enjoyment to a different level. (The best part is...NO NUTS! Haha)

It was held last May 27, Friday, at Glorietta Activity Center. It was a public event, so everyone can join and try the new Cadbury 5Star for free, and also participate in the #YouThinkYouCan challenges to win sweet gift packs from Cadbury.

SO MANY PEOPLE! :D

Arlene Amante, Mondelez Philippines Chocolates Brand Manager, shared with us for whom Cadbury 5Star was targeted - the energetic young millenials who are active and confident. They live their lives to the fullest. Cadbury 5Star is not your regular chocolate bar. Its campaign #YouThinkYouCan is a movement - a call to make the most of every moment, to be empowered to do what you love through Cadbury 5Star!

Together with the launching of its new chocolate bar, Mondelez Philippines, maker of Cadbury 5Star introduces the three young Ambassadors of the brand: Alex Diaz (actor), Arisse de Santos (lifestyle blogger), and Robi Domingo (VJ) who exemplify the adventurous and go-getter young millennials of today.

Inside every piece of Cadbury 5Star is a unique challenge. Some are strange, while some are fun. Haha. I got "Bite this Cadbury 5Star, and you'll think you can sneeze with your eyes open." :p

There were lots of on-site challenges that day but my favorite was...

...WALKING ON CHOCOLATE! :D It's a pool of gooey brown stuff, and you'd have to move fast or else you'd sink! :o

The last thing anyone wants is to find themselves doing the exact same thing every day. The world is bigger than what you see, so you shouldn’t just waste it on what you already know. Dare to break out of your comfort zone!

I'll share with you guys my #YouThinkYouCan story: I've been working in my office for almost 4 years. I actually like it there because it's my comfort zone. Work is easy, steady, and the pay isn't bad. But one day, I found myself looking for more. I knew I can do more and I wanted to learn more, so I went back to school! I'm currently studying foreign language and am at level 3 in the span of 3 months. So far so good, I'm immensely enjoying it! No telling where this will lead me, I do have a clue, but there are many great opportunities that open up once you step out of your comfort zone!

Sometimes, all you need is a push – the inspiration to take you beyond your expectations in life. And this is what Cadbury 5Star is all about.

Zen Zest at 15 + My Favorites!

Zen Zest celebrated their 15th anniversary last Monday with a fragrance bar + shopping party. I'm so grateful to be part of this celebration, because I got to experience and rediscover the brand and the very inspiring story behind it.

Michelle Asence-Fontelera started Zen Zest in 2001. It was the time when she noticed how expensive imported bath and body products were, and that no local brands provided the same good quality at affordable prices. For 3 months, she trained under a chemist and formulated her own products. Her first batch of colognes, hand sanitizers, lotions, perfumes, and soaps were all concocted and packaged at home. With a capital of P350,000, she was able to open her first humble Zen Zest kiosk in SM Megamall, and earned exactly P4,178 on her first day of business.

From that one small kiosk, look how huge of a business Zen Zest now is - with over 100 outlets nationwide and abroad. They've also expanded their product line with body scrubs, home fragrances, and baby colognes!

Le Petit Souffle in Century City Mall is also quickly becoming a favorite venue for kikay events. The place is so pretty and the food is so good! I've only been to this French-Japanese restaurant twice, but it's enough for me to fall in love with it. Let the shopping party begin!

First stop: Home scents

Aromatherapy

Zen Zest's Aromatherapy range is comprised of 3 themes: Sleep, Energy, and Uplift - each necessary to our all over well-being.

Sleep
Calming lavender and primes your body for relaxation.
The perfect winding down companion for a deep, relaxing sleep.

The night before this event, I couldn't sleep! I slept past 1AM despite my 8AM class schedule, so when I saw this I knew I had to get it. This one's my favorite variant from Zen Zest's Aromatherapy range.

Energize
Energizing grapefruit essence recharges the body, and gets you ready for the next activity. The perfect booster for both mind and body.
I like light citrus scents, but not the too strong or tangy ones. When I first saw this, I thought I won't like it, but I ended up liking the Aroma Oil in Energize! It has a strong, piercing citrusy scent that makes me...HAPPY! It's weird, I can't explain why. I don't think I'd like my room to smell like citrus, but the small roll-on is very nice to have.

Uplift
The perfect mid-day treat for your body. Achieve harmony for the body, mind, and spirit with this stimulating blend of orange and eucalyptus. Productivity stems from feeling good.

I'm biased towards anything with a "minty" feel. Zen Zest's Uplift range contains orange and eucalyptus oils. My sister has home service massage every Tuesday night, so I'm giving the Zen Zest Aromatherapy Massage Oil in Uplift to her. It's a nice, refreshing change to her usual Efficascent Oil. (Can't deny that spa-like feel with this one!)

Prices:
  • Room Spray - P250
  • Linen Spray - P250
  • Massage Oil - P220
  • Fragrance Oil - P150
  • Roll-on - P120

These are best-sellers in every Zen Zest store and even during the event. (I ran out of my top picks here, so I got scents from other categories instead.) The Anti-Mosquito is very practical and explanatory. Nobody likes dengue! The Cabinet Deodorizer is a winner. It takes away stuff kulob closet smell, even from your ukay finds! Nobody smokes at home, so I wasn't interested in the Anti-Tobacco variant. (I hope the smoking ban begins now.) The last and my favorite is the Kitchen Fragrance, not because I cook but because it smells like Starbucks! It's not only for the kitchen. ;)

Prices:
  • Air Purifier Kit - P1,500
  • Fragrance Blend - P500
  • Diffuser - P400
  • Anti-Mosquito/Anti-Tobacco/Kitchen/Cabinet Deodorizer- P300 (300ml) & P150 (150ml)

Next stop: Personal scents

Eau de Toilette

Zen Zest has so many choices in their Eau de Toilette range! For the EDT, Tangerine is a forever favorite of EVERYBODY! It's a universally appealing scent. My blogger friends kept raving about it during their event, saying it's their favorite from their high school days. I might have been living under a rock, since it's my first time to smell it. MY MY! I love it as well, and I'd use it even if I'm way over my tweetums stage. REVIEW SOON! :D I also got the EDT in Coral and Cobalt (for Panda)!

Prices:
  • Eau De Toilette - P230
  • Eau De Parfum - P340
  • Eau De Cologne - P100
  • Cocktail Body Spray - P180

Classic Collection

Classic Body Spray - P200

Classic Body Wash - P140

Classic Body Scrub - P150

Hand Soap - P100
Hand Sanitizer - P50

Zen Zest's Classic Collection is LOVE. The body sprays remind me of their more expensive imported counterparts, but they perform just as nicely! They have a wide range of fruity and floral scents at super affordable prices. I was torn between Cherry Blossom, Honeydew Melon, and Vanilla Cream. I think I took the longest time since I couldn't decide, but in the end I got the yummiest scent in Vanilla Cream - the last bottle, too! One whiff immediately took me back to my college org room, where someone walked in and asked, "Bakit amoy cake?" Haha!

We had a special set menu from Le Petit Souffle, too! :>

Honey Citrus Salad

Matcha Parfait & Salted Egg Parfait

Not in the photos: Carbonara and Cold Matcha Latte. The Honey Citrus Salad made me love vegetables, the Cold Matcha Latte is sooo creamy and good, and the Salted Egg Parfait is excellent!

I had the loveliest time too because of my favorite girls! Hello, Donna, Andy, and Raych! (Krissy, too!) I missed you all. Hihi. I loved the Zen Zest event because it was a reunion of beauty bloggers.

Thank you, Zen Zest! ♥

I'm excited to review these Zen Zest products! I still can't believe that most of their products costs just around P200 to P300. It's true, no matter how tough the economy gets, Filipinos still find the time and budget to hunt for and buy products that will help them look good and feel good. After 15 years in business, Zen Zest has already broken through the Asian market with stalls in Japan, Bahrain, and Brunei. I won't be surprised to see them in other foreign countries in the near future. Next time I'm at the mall looking for gifts, I'll drop by Zen Zest!

What are your Zen Zest favorites? Which product do you want me to review first? :)
