Getting to Know Ellana Minerals

Today, I'll be sharing with you a "What's In My Makeup Kit" kind of post. Together, let's discover the new products of Ellana Minerals.

I admit, I am a newbie (or a late bloomer) in the mineral makeup craze. Heck, I used to shun all makeup in loose powder form, because of the potential mess it could case. I've known Ellana Minerals a few years back, way before I even started blogging. It disappeared in the market for a short while - only to come back new and improved! Get this: Now they have mineral makeup in pressed form! If this isn't pure happiness, I don't know what else to call it!

Liz invited a couple of beauty bloggers (me included) to the Ellana Minerals showroom in Makati, which is a walkable distance from Magallanes MRT station.

This intimate gathering was about getting to know a Ellana Minerals a little better, and also some pretty exciting news...

I am now an Ellana Beauty Advocate! ♥ This is something I would only do with the brands I genuinely believe in, and Ellana Minerals is one of them.

This means, my readers can get a one-time 15% discount on their first purchase (by clicking the Ellana banner on my sidebar). You won't be able to get this discount from stores, just here! I'll get to earn a small commission on each order, but there's no quota so there won't be any unnecessary push. What I experience with the makeup, I will tell. It's all up to you if you will buy it or not.

Provides a light to medium coverage, with a completely matte finish. Best for oily skin.

I've mentioned before that I am not big on loose powder makeup. I was supposed to get the pressed mineral foundation, until Liz, Kira, and Donna raved endlessly about this classic version. Better shade match, better coverage... Why not? I'm actually excited, because I want to know how a loose powder can have good (or even better) coverage compared to the conventional makeup I'm currently using.

Another good thing is that these mineral foundations contain NO parabens, nanoparticles, or any unnecessary fillers, binders, and fragrances. They're also oil-free - designed to be good for the skin in every possible way.

Each blush duo contains 2 complementary shades. As for blush, it has to come in pressed form for me, since I want to be able to control the amount of product well for an even application.

My colleague went Ellana shopping and showed me this cute lip & cheek palette at work, even before I visited the showroom. I like multipurpose products, and this one you can use for the lips, cheeks, and even eyes (if you do get the bronzey shade).

When it comes to mineral makeup, good makeup brushes are a must. I've tried most of these during the event, and I love how soft they are. The density of the bristles is just right, so it picks up the product quite nicely. I'm eyeing the Baby Buki Brush, since Kira has her for years already and it still looks (and works) good as new. I think it's a good investment.

With Krissy & Kira (my North girls) :D

So here are the stuff inside my makeup kit:

Left to right:
Eyebrow/Eyeshadow Quad in Beloved, Intense, Wish, Hush

I'm currently testing these babies out, so reviews shall come real soon. For now, you may want to Like Ellana Cosmetics on Facebook for more information! :)

Love,
Helen

  6. I ordered their sample too and liked it as a finishing powder. I still need to use a BB or a liquid foundation underneath so I get the coverage I want. :)
