Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Black

Eye makeup is my least favorite thing to do. I'd skip it forever if I could. (Kidding! Sort of.)

Nah, I'm actually jealous of people who can do eye makeup like pros. It's just amazing on how the right eye makeup can instantly make you look more dramatic, more awake, more everything! However, I have unbelievably hooded eyelids that can make most waterproof eye makeups tremble. Just like "good hair days", I have "good eye days" when I wake up to okay and proportional eyelid folds. On "bad eye days", I wake up to one normal eyelid, and the other eye fold so small, it turns any eyeliner into "eyeshadow", a line so smudged in just a few minutes after application.

Enough eyelid drama, let's get on to the main business, which is a review of my current eyeliner, Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Black!

Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Black
Revlon® Colorstay™ Eyeliner glides on adding drama and definition to your eyes. Waterproof formula won’t smear, smudge or fade. Wears for up to 16 hours.

I chose the shade black (over brown) since it looks more dramatic. Even for everyday use, I prefer black.

Don't you wish eyeliners stayed this sharp forever?

Now you can stop wishing, since this retractable pencil eyeliner comes with a built-in sharpener on the opposite side of the cap. Win!

Each Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner comes with this much product in it (length compared to the cap). Just in case you'd like to know.

Swatch:

I LOVE how eyeliners can enhance the look/shape of the eyes.

My Revlon face

Products used:

Pros:
  • It's retractable.
  • It comes with a built-in sharpener.
  • It's pigmented, with a matte, jet-black finish.
  • It has a good staying power compared to regular pencil eyeliners.

Cons:
  • Sometimes, I have a hard time applying this as it drags on my upper lids.
  • It's not totally waterproof. It smudges on my oily, hooded eyelids and waterline.

Available in all Revlon counters in leading department stores

My sister (who doesn't have hooded eyelids like I do) loves this eyeliner as it manages to stay put on her. Lucky!

Have you tried Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner? If not, what eyeliner are you currently using?

Love,
Helen

    1. Revlon goes on sale every month, but with selected products. This month, it's P100 off their lipsticks just in case you like it. :)

  2. In2It's eyeliners are good too! It doesn't smudge on me even if I wear it for 24 hours (didnt have the time to remove it since I was on duty, and even then it only smudged just the tiniest bit). :) I also tried Bench's eyeliner from the Paint Box line. It applies smoothly and staying power is good too, but not as good as the ones from In2It. :)

  3. I'm currently using In2It's black eyeliner...it applies smoothly and it doesn't smudge at all! Staying power is great (I wore it once for 24 hours since I was on duty, and only experienced a little bit of smudging). :)

  4. Currently I'm using the felt tip eyeliner from NYX but it doesn't last long though. Would love to give this one a try naman. Thanks for sharing, Helen! :)

    1. I have never used a felt tip one. People say it's easy to use but I have no clue how to use it. Haha. You're welcome, Gellie! :)

  5. Change your blog to Helen The Sale Hunter. Lol! I used this during our Christmas costume party but it was too hot and humid so I couldn't really judge it for streaking off of my temples. What was on my eyes though, remained pretty decent.

    1. Haha! Pwede yan for a new blog name! :D Most brands that claim to be waterproof can't seem to stand the humid weather here in the Philippines. Baka sa cool weather di talaga siya nag sstreak or smudge. :)

  8. I have hooded/uneven eyelids too, and I would love to get this because it's so pigmented (plus the built-in sharpener!) & I find pencil eyeliners the easiest to use. Alternatively though I use this brush-type eyeliner from Shawill; it's very affordable, pigmented and waterproof; problem is, I'm not very good at using brush-types haha!

    1. I agree, pencil eyeliners are the easiest to use! I have no idea when it comes to liquid eyeliners, but I know how to work with gel liners. :)

Is the one from Shawill one with a felt brush tip (like Sharpie)? I've seen the brand in the dept. store, but I have yet to explore it! :D

    2. I still have yet to use gel-types, but to me they look easier to handle compared to liquid eyeliners! *u*

The Shawill eyeliner doesn't use a felt tip & doesn't dry very quickly, but for a price of more or less Php 120 and very good pigmentation I can totally live with that (for now, at least)! I guess one just needs more control (and a heck of a lot of patience) when it comes to liquid eyeliners. XD

    3. I have shaky hands so goodbye liquid liners agad! Haha :D Gel liners are easier to use than liquid, that's for sure! I'll check out Shawill when I drop by the mall. Thanks for the reco, Pepay! :)

  11. Hello ate Hellen! Gosh! Your JAWLINE is so beautiful! (Insecurity attacks hahaha!), The revlon eyeliner is slightly expensive compared to megalast eyeliner that I bought that goods.ph (https://www.goods.ph/wet-n-wild-megalast-retractable-eyeliner-18943.html), almost two months ago. Where is the nearest Revlon store here in Cainta? Thank you ms Hellen :")
