Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion SPF 50/PA+++ in Natural Beige W13

I'm currently in the mineral makeup phase, but on days I feel like I could use some extra coverage or glow, I reach for BB cream. BB creams that come in cushion form are all the rage in Korea - almost all beauty brands carry it in their stores, and almost all Korean ladies have one in her bag.

Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion SPF 50/PA+++ in Natural Beige W13

Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion is different from the Magic Any Cushion. Precious Mineral Any Cushion is a BB cream in cushion form, while Magic Any Cushion is more of a CC cream/makeup base that comes in 3 shades (pink, peach, and mint), also in cushion form.

This cushion pact perfects all-day radiant and moist skin with multi-function of brightening, wrinkle-reducing, sebum control, and flawless coverage.

The packaging comes in pristine white, which looks simple and clean.

It comes with a mirror and the air puff is separated from the product.

The air puff is great for BB cushions, since it doesn't absorb as much product compared to a regular sponge. With this one, you just pat, pat, and pat to achieve your desired coverage.

The BB cream is loaded into the sponge, so when you press it with your fingers the product comes out. It's amazing though as it doesn't spill, which makes it very travel-friendly.

Swatches:

Before: bare skin

After: with Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion

Pros:
  • Application is easy and convenient because of the air puff - no messy fingers!
  • The BB cream is "trapped" inside the sponge, and it doesn't spill even when tilted. This makes the packaging compact and travel-friendly.
  • The shade I have (in Natural Beige W13) has a yellow undertone that's fit for Asian skin tones.
  • Pores become invisible.
  • Redness is instantly reduced.
  • Minor spots and dark circles are covered - no need for concealer.
  • It has a high SPF 50/PA+++.
  • It feels cool on the skin - ideal for our hot and humid weather.
  • This BB cream has medium to full coverage.
  • It has no shimmer.
  • It has a dewy finish Koreans can't get enough of!

Cons:
  • Air puff is hard to clean. It's also not hygienic if you use this to retouch your makeup throughout the day. (The BB cushion has a moist environment and is a potential breeding ground for bacteria when you dip a dirty cushion into it.)
  • Oil control is average. My t-zone gets shiny after 2-3 hours.
  • The formula may irritate sensitive skin due to its strong fragrance.
  • It clogs my pores after days of consecutive use.

Neutral:
  • Its powdery scent lasts for hours during wear. I apply it 7:00AM, and I can still smell it around 9:00AM.
  • Proper application is necessary (patting motion). If you apply a too thick layer, it can become cakey.

Wearing the Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion alone

Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion SPF 50/PA+++ in Natural Beige W13 is a good match for my skin tone if I do it right and just apply a thin layer. After all, a little is all you need as this one has medium coverage. The trick here is to pat the air puff lightly and evenly, all over your face until you get the desired coverage. My favorite feature of this is that it makes my skin look dewy, radiant, and healthy. Whenever I feel extra haggard, I use this BB cream for a quick-fix. However, I find that I can't use this everyday, since it causes my skin to breakout when I use it consecutively, say for a week. Maybe it's the strong powdery fragrance that could be causing the reaction, or my laziness in thoroughly removing my makeup at the end of the day.

Even with my oily skin, I still like some dewiness to peek through, so I top this off with powder (to nix the shine), but skip powdering the cheeks for that added glow.

Tip:

Don't throw out your air puff! You can wash and reuse it. For a deeper, more thorough clean, you may use a cleansing oil prior to Step 1 (above).

Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion could've been perfect if only it didn't break me out. But then, what doesn't work for me could work for you, and vice versa. It's best to try this one out first before purchasing, and if it suits your skin, then good for you! ;)

    1. Arte lang, spill-proof and for convenience. I personally find it unhygienic pag gagamitin "anytime". I use it only sa morning or only after washing my face.

      Thanks, Tellie! :D

  6. I also got breakouts after a couple days of use. I think it's because this cushion has tons of silicones...
