Etude House Bubble Hair Coloring in Wine Red

I just colored my hair red to mark a "change" in my life. I've been wanting to do this since forever, and I had to since my roots have waged war against my previously dyed hair. I used Etude House Bubble Hair Coloring in Natural Brown before. Now I used the Bubble Hair Coloring in Wine Red, which is also from Etude House. If you're planning to try this one out, make sure to buy it as soon as you see it in stores, since any shade of the Bubble Hair Color is perennially out of stock due to high demand.

I won't be posting a tutorial anymore, since I already did one for the Natural Brown shade. This post will just be a before and after one.

The foam or bubble of this hair color is purple, which turns to deep purple as you place it on your hair. (Natural Brown had white foam.) The downside to purple foam is that it can become very messy when it starts to drip off your hair and go to your face and clothes. It can also be difficult to rinse off and it may leave some stains on surfaces that it comes to contact with.

Before (colored with Natural Brown)

After (with low/indoor light)

After (when light hits it)

I wish I had left it on for 5 minutes more. The previously dyed hair came out brighter red, and the black roots are still darker, with a slight red tint. My hair color application came out uneven, but it's an evident change to my previous grown-out brown hair.

Left: Natural Brown
Right: Wine Red

So far, I'm liking the outcome. My hair looks on fire when I'm outdoors! I think I'd appreciate it more once I air-dry my hair wavy. Have you tried Etude House Bubble Hair Color as well? Do link me up, I'd like to see the outcome!

Love,
Helen

    1. How cute! Here it's only EH's Bubble Hair Color that's affordable, but it's so hard to find since it's always out of stock. I wish I could go to Korea. I'd hoard lots of these hair colors and makeup! :)

    1. My sister uses HBC hair color too, and it looks gorgeous as well! I'm not patient with mixing stuff though, so I opted for this one which is easier to use. :)

  8. Just colored my hair today. Same shade! Ang kulet db? I so love this color from Etude House! You could buy this online, I know a seller from Korea. Authentic Etude House Product Reseller, and they have all shades available. It's much more cheaper than retail. I bought it for SGD$9.00. It is easy to use pa.

    1. Wow, we have the same hair color! :) Mine faded and it's more brown than red now. I haven't tried online shopping for Korean beauty products although I see a lot of online stores. I think this is pretty cheap already, even if I bought from the EH store in the mall.

  9. hi Helen! Im just wondering how brown your hair become after a few days, was it dark brown or light brown? Can you send me some pics or post it here if possible... Im really dying to see... i already bought a box of red wine color, and im really thinking about using it, especially you mentioned it fades... And the brown color of it might not suit me so im really scared. Please help me, this will be my first time to dye my hair. And also how long does the hair fall lasts after trying this product? Is it no different than those products in the salon in terms of gentleness in the hair:-) btw, great posts! Very informative! i really loved your posts about the bubble hair coloring since it gives me an idea about it. Thank you thank you! More power Helen! Keep up the good work!

    1. Hello Yreo. :) I dyed my using EH's Natural Brown last year (July), so my hair had copper hints before I did this Wine Red one. Parang pinatungan nya yung dati kong color. I can email you one of my recent pics if you like. Yup, this one faded on me. It does not look red on me now, it's more of a warmer brown hue, it warmed up my brassy Natural Brown hair color. There was still hair fall because of the chemicals, but it was just on the day I colored my hair. I'm not sure if those in salons did or didn't cause me hair fall, since I just had my hair dyed once in a salon, and I couldn't see my hair while they washed it. Hehe! Next time, I think I'll go back to Natural Brown because that one didn't fade as much as this one. But it's fun to try out red once in a while. :)

  10. wow that looks great on you! :) btw, im having second thoughts of coloring my hair cause ill have it rebonded. an i was planning to color it directly after rebonding. Or is that bad? is your hair rebonded?

    1. The last time I had my hair rebonded was in 2007. I think that coloring your hair right after rebonding is damaging, because some people in salons don't recommend that. Do wait for a few months before having your next chemical treatment. Or just color your hair and embrace your waves. ;)

  12. How can u dye the root of your hair sis ? ^^
My friend tried this but her root is still balck. I'm worry because I love to try this

    1. You may concentrate the formula on your roots and the inner part of your hair near the nape. I've noticed that these spots are the hardest to lighten. My friend's hair came out uneven too, lighter on the previously dyed part, and darker near the roots. I guess that's the downside of EH's Bubble Hair Color.

    1. Yes, it's effective and affordable. I've used 4 boxes already (Natural Brown, Wine Red, and 2 Gold Blonde). :D If I get sick of regrowth, I might just dye it black. Hahaha!
