The Body Shop Eye Palette in Dolly Pastels [Holiday 2014]

Happy last day of the year! ♥

Tonight, I'll be sharing with you swatches of this cutesy palette from The Body Shop's Holiday 2014 collection. Your eyes can be your best accessories for any party you attend if you play it right. :D

Their new palette comes in a lightweight cardboard packaging with a Christmas jumper design. How cute is that! I appreciate that even though the packaging is made of cardboard, it's black so it won't look dirty or worn out after a few months.

The the back is a guide on how to best use the palette, but of course you can apply it in any way you like.

The palette comes with a magnetic closure, a mirror, and a double-ended applicator (sponge + slanted eyeliner brush). The shades of this palette, aptly called Dolly Pastels, is everything girly. While I usually just go for neutral browns for the eyes, these shades are very wearable.

Swatch:

The consistency of the light beige and lilac are creamy and velvety, the brown one is silky (and the most pigmented among the bunch), while the peach shade is glittery and prone to fallout. The colors are pretty, but they don't show up like that on the lids (especially the first two light shades - they both look similar when worn). I bet this would work better with a primer such as The Body Shop's Instablur Eye. But these shades can be worn not just for the holidays. I still think this one's a cute day palette, but I still love my brown neutral palettes more.

Tip: The brown eye shadow in this palette is very versatile. You can use it on your brows (if you have dark hair), as eye contour, and as a powder to set your eyeliner with.

Prices:
  • The Body Shop Eye Palette in Dolly Pastels (P1,495.00)
  • The Body Shop Glitter Eyeliner (P795.00)

And because Christmas is over, I bet these will go on sale pretty soon. ;)
