Jergens 7-Day Challenge

I've just accepted the Jergens 7-Day Challenge! I'll be updating this post daily, so join me as I go on a mission to achieve beauty that radiates inside and out.

Inside this box are some of the tools I'll need to finish my tasks.

Mission #1: Radiate Beauty From Within

Tonight, I rang the doorbell and surprised my neighbor with a bottle of Jergens Original Beauty Lotion!

I remember meeting Dra. Hilda before inside the tricycle on our way home. (Yes, of all places! Haha) I don't usually talk to strangers, but she had this really nice and friendly aura so we spoke to each other. I then found out that she's the mother-in-law of my blogger friend, Rovie (who is now also my neighbor). Small world! Many months after that single meeting, I decided to surprise her tonight with the gift of Jergens, so she could maintain her naturally beautiful skin. She was happy with her gift, and I was happy to have shared. The nice thing was she shared with me that she's a Jergens user, too!

When you have beautiful skin, you'll have to confidence to approach anyone! Jergens Original Beauty Lotion Dry Skin Moisturiser gives you visibly softer skin that lasts all day. It contains an illuminating Hydralucence™ blend and nourishing hydrators infused with their classic Cherry Almond Essence.

Mission #2: Left vs. Right

Today, I applied the new Jergens Age Defying Multi-Vitamin Moisturiser only on my left arm. I left my right arm bare to see and feel the difference.

The effect is not very drastic in photos, but it gave me that subtle "lit from within" glow only healthy skin has. The lotion has a non-greasy, creamy texture that the skin absorbs well. I also like that fragrance is listed last in the ingredients list; this one smells light and subtle - perfect for even the most sensitive nose.

Jergens Age Defying Multi-Vitamin Moisturiser revitalises and replenishes the skin with its antioxidant blend of Vitamins A, E, and C. It restores the healthy look of dry skin, and diminishes the signs of ageing.

Mission #3: Keep Hydrated

Today's challenge was to drink only water - no other beverage. Easy peasy! :D Warm water is actually my favorite beverage of choice (boring, I know). Very rarely would you see me drinking soda or sugary juices; I'd either drink hot ginger tea (before or after choir practice) or a cool shot of wheatgrass for when I feel like detoxifying my system from all the junk food I've eaten. Good thing I got my trusty Jergens tumbler to remind me that water is good for my body and helps keep my skin healthy.

When you don't drink enough water, the skin gets dehydrated, thus appearing dry and wrinkled. We don't want that! I noticed that whenever I drink plenty of water on a regular basis, my skin clears up and appears plumper. You can help lock in moisture into your skin by using your favorite Jergens lotion twice a day to reveal your most beautiful skin yet.

Mission #4: Nurture Relationships

Just this weekend, I went on a super fun beach/camping adventure with some of my closest high school and church friends. Keeping healthy relationships go a long way to making you feel good and look good. I'd like you all to meet my happy pill of a friend, Jeanne! We've been friends for 10 years and counting. We could talk and laugh endlessly for hours, or sit in silence (well, sometimes) and just enjoy each others company. This year, we went on a lot of trips together, and each one is just more fun and memorable when she's around.

After emerging from a beautiful beach where there was no electricity and accommodation but tents, a buffet dinner at Cabalen seemed to be the perfect way to reward ourselves! As we nurture our relationships with our loved ones, we must also nourish our body and skin as well for beauty that radiates inside and out.

Mission #5: Make Someone Smile

When you share your blessings, you gain a friend! Today, I'm giving away a Jergens gift pack to one reader. SURPRISE!

Moments after posting this "Jergens 7-Day Challenge" blog post with my first ever mission, a friend immediately messaged me to ask when Day 1 began, and also asked me about the brand, new packaging, and formulation. I find it funny (but nice) that a straight guy would also be an avid reader of my blog. Hence, I'm giving Benny Yao the gift of Jergens, which he could share with his family and friends. (Yes, guys use lotion too!)

Please e-mail me your complete shipping details at helenblas@yahoo.com, so I could have your gift shipped via courier.

Someone once said that a smile is a person's best accessory. We believe that, and so is that person's skin. Don't forget to apply your favorite Jergens variant twice a day to reveal your most beautiful skin yet.

Mission #6: Healthy Habits

A healthy diet is needed to keep your body strong and your skin beautiful. Here's a handy guide to beautiful skin!

Whenever I think of healthy food, salad almost always come to mind! There was a time when I went through a salad phase. No, I didn't want to lose weight; I ate it as a snack or as a side dish. I would top crisp lettuce with anything I could find at home - bangus with its good fatty belly, boiled eggs, chicken, and mango vinaigrette or honey mustard dressing. I eat this way for when I feel like I've had too much fast food. I have a handy tip for you! Leafy greens contain non-heme iron that's not readily absorbed by the body (as compared to iron that comes from meat), hence you'll need to take vitamin C (could be in the form of orange juice) to go with your salad, to activate the iron and make it readily absorbed by the body.

My family doesn't have much "heirloom" recipes, but today I'll share with you a simple, very easy but equally tasty salad recipe - Chicken Pop Salad with Grapes and Cheese.

Source: yummy.ph

Ingredients:
  • 1 bag frozen chicken popcorn, cooked according to package directions
  • 1 bag mixed greens
  • 1 cup grapes, halved
  • 1 pack cream cheese, cubed

For the honey mustard dressing
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons cream
  • sugar, salt, and pepper to taste

Directions:
  1. Whisk all dressing ingredients in a bowl and season to taste. Set aside.
  2. Cook chicken popcorn according to package directions.
  3. Open a bag of mixed greens and arrange in a shallow bowl. Arrange chicken popcorn, some halved grapes, and cubed cream cheese over the greens.
  4. Drizzle honey mustard dressing on top and serve.

Moisturizers work hand in hand with a healthy diet and exercise in keeping your skin stunningly beautiful! Don't forget to apply Jergens after every shower to lock in the moisture from your skin. (Try it! Your skin stays soft all day.)

Mission #7: The Finish Line

It's never too early to start caring for our skin. At 25, skin loses its ability to renew itself; this is why I have with me my trusty Jergens Age Defying Multi-Vitamin Moisturiser to deeply hydrate my skin. Jergens new illuminating Hydralucence™ blend eliminates dullness and dryness by creating a continuous layer of moisture on skin. This unique technology prevents hydration loss with a uniform moisture barrier. The smooth surface then powerfully reflects light, for more luminous skin.

After 7 days of using Jergens, dry patches and flakes (especially on my legs) were gone. My skin would now pass the "scratch test" - when you run a fingernail on your skin, and you see no white patch that means your skin is well hydrated. I just came home from a trip this weekend, so I shall continuously use Jergens to repair and enhance my skin tone and texture from all the sun exposure, so I'd have skin that's more luminous than ever!

I've finally completed the Jergens 7-Day Challenge!
Thank you for joining me on this adventure. ;)
