Underarm Diode Laser at SKIN Dermatology & Laser Center [Update & Promo]

Remember my post about the first session of underarm diode laser treatment I had with SKIN Dermatology & Laser Center?

Well, here's an update. I was told by the dermatologist that within 2 weeks, my hair would shed. My hair still grew after the session, but after 1 week from the day of the treatment, my hair began to shed already. Like it comes off when you gently use your finger to pull it (effortlessly). I believe it doesn't totally come off from the root (like plucking), but it's more like the hair broke off since it's too weak already. (I could get used to that!) Regrowth was super slow, although after a month there was still sparse and fine regrowth. Between the interval of your treatments (usually 4 weeks), you may not pluck or wax. Trimming and shaving is okay.

So yesterday, I've finally purchased the remaining sessions I needed for the complete treatment! It helped a lot that SKIN Dermatology & Laser Center has a huge discount on their diode laser for the entire month of March. I'm so kuripot, but this one is so worth the splurge!

Promo:
  • 50% off on underarm and upper lip
  • 30% off on full arm, full leg, bikini, lower leg, half arm, beard, brazilian, and full back

Diode Laser Hair Removal is the gold standard for hair reduction that effectively lessens hair growth. For maximum results, 6 to 8 sessions are needed per body area. Promo period is from March 1-31, 2014.

You can buy as much sessions as you want, but you have to use the sessions up within the year. No hoarding, since the sessions aren't transferable either. After my second session, the dermatologist informed me that I only needed around 4 more sessions to complete the treatment. Hence, I only needed a total of 6 sessions for the full course of diode underarm laser. (This differs per client, depending on the amount of hair to be removed.) Upon purchasing, you will be handed a personal card for record keeping.

Since I was already done with my first last month, yesterday, I paid for 5 more sessions for just P10,000.00. I got to save P14,000, so I'm happy! I was almost willing to purchase the 6+2 sessions for P24,000.00 (at regular price), but I am really thankful for this promo. Now, I'm on my way to smooth, hair-free, and perfect underams! :D

I highly recommend SKIN Dermatology & Laser Center. All treatments are administered by Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS) accredited dermatologists (and not nurses and/or trained therapists), so you know you're in safe hands. The treatment rooms are also well-lit, bright, clean, and non-intimidating. Also, you get a serving or 2 of The Spa's ginger tea (a favorite of mine).

Imagine, just P16,000.00 (8 sessions) or less for hair-free underarms. No need to shave, pluck, or wax forever! I'd take that any day.

  1. what I already tried is the IPL and I'm happy with the result. I've purchased it on metrodeal only. It's cheap but really of good result :D I never heard of diode laser is that almost the same? But base on what happened on your underarm its the same that happens on mine and now no more underarm hair problem :p

    1. Diode is the "higher level" thing when it comes to permanent hair reduction. It has less pain compared to IPL and less sessions required (some are okay already with 5-6 sessions of diode laser, while with IPL it would take about 8-10 for it to be really effective). With IPL, hair would grow back after 3 years or so, as told by the dermatologist.

My friend is raving about IPL too. The sessions could go for as low as P200 each compared to this diode of P2000 each session (at promo), but I want to be sure of na less likely yung regrowth so I went for this nalang. :)

  2. Hello! Nice share! :) I just want to ask if you've inquired about having to visit again every year for maintenance? I already have attended six sessions in a different clinic for IPL and the doctor advised to have the procedure done like three sessions in a year or else, the hair would begin to grow back like normal.

    1. Yes, I did. With Diode, you need a "booster shot" only once a year (or in 2 years) should the hair grow back. I asked the derma about the regrowth, she told me it would be about 1 or 2 fine strands only, so I think no need na for the booster, unless you're really hairy. With IPL kasi it really needs more sessions during the procedure itself and for maintenance. Parang mejo "watered down" version siya ng Diode. (But then, they're really not the same since IPL makes use of light energy, while Diode makes use of laser.)

    2. OK. Your post made me decide to try diode treatment too! I have inquired prices from Flawless and even consulted their doctor last Saturday. Sa kanila PHp 27k+, lifetime na. Per session, PHP 3k+. So now I think I will avail of Skin's promo na lang. :)

  3. Same question with the other girls. Is it the same with the IPL? :) The IPL can still have regrowth but with much finer hair na. The Diode Laser ba will no longer have regrowth? Thank you for this post. Very informative.

    1. Hi Fred! :) There is really no such thing as permanent hair removal, just reduction. With Diode, it would take almost half the amount of sessions needed to complete the treatment (compared to IPL), and also for the maintenance (once in 1 or 2 years for Diode, but about 3x a year for IPL) to maintain its hairless state. Regrowth is still possible, say a single strand or 2, but it will be very fine as well. :)

  4. Paano po yun per session nya?, I mean tuwing kelan dapat bumalik (months/days). How many months will 1 session last?

    1. Ginawa ko once a month, but you can make it once every 5-6 weeks para mas sure na matatarget yung regrowth. Kelangan kasi yung root para ma-kill ng laser. As for the 1 session thing, hair is bound to come back after 1-2 weeks, then it falls off. Then pag more sessions, yung ibang parts wala ng regrowth. Mine was 6 sessions (the minimum number), and it's been more than a year and my only maintenance is trimming of 4-5 strands of visible hair, and Veet cream once every few months. I can wear sleeveless tops anytime, so the investment is worth it.

  5. Hi Helen so no need to wax UA after one year or after the session? Hnd makapal yung hair strand na tumubo?

    1. During/in between sessions, you are not allowed to wax since the diode laser needs to detect the dark follicle and zap it. If you wax, there will be no root to detect.

After 1 year, no need to wax. I just trim the 3-4 visible strands on each armpit. No plucking, since that causes chicken skin and ingrown. I have yet to do a booster. Di pa sila nag 50% off ulit e! :D

    1. Skinstation? I was tempted to get that for my booster... Kasi sa SKIN 4k/session of UA laser. Sa Skinstation 5k/8 sessions. Kaso takot ako baka mahinang klase siya. Kamusta yung progress nung sayo?
