Revlon PhotoReady Sculpting Blush Palette in Berry

Most of us have eyeshadow and lipstick palettes (and I personally love how these can be such space-savers in our makeup kits). How about a blush palette?

Today's review will be about Revlon PhotoReady Sculpting Blush Palette in Berry.

Revlon PhotoReady Sculpting Blush Palette in Berry
Makeup artist inspired palette of 3 complementary shades to sculpt, color and illuminate cheekbones and create a multi-dimensional look

Directions:
  1. Apply contour shade below the cheekbone.
  2. Apply blush on apples of cheeks.
  3. Apply highlighter above cheekbone.

I like the packaging of Revlon's PhotoReady Sculpting Blush Palette. It's slim and sturdy, and you can see the shade/product inside without the need to open it. It also comes with a small mirror.

How Revlon positioned the product is unique and nice to look at, but is not too helpful when it comes to application. The pans of the contour and highlight shade are too small; it's hard to get the product out especially if you're using a big brush.

The brush that comes with it is soft but the bristles aren't dense enough. I still prefer using a real blush brush.

The shade Berry has a mauve-pink shade that's deeper than the usual bubblegum pink blush I use. The 3 shades inside the palette all have shimmers in it, but when worn, they look natural and glowy, nothing too over the top.

Swatches:

The contour shade has less shimmer compared to the highlight shade, which is a good thing. The blush isn't the most pigmented one I've tried, which makes it friendly to those who are just starting to learn how apply makeup since it's almost foolproof. (You won't risk applying too much in one go and ending up looking like a clown.)

When Worn:

I tried to follow the instructions behind the palette and came up with this look. I wasn't blessed with cheekbones, but this seemed to help. I find the shades in this palette very office-appropriate. The shades are neutral, but enough to add some color and glow to the face. (Gotta love blushes with a tiny hint of shimmer in it!) For everyday, I just use the blush alone on my cheeks. When I feel like exerting more effort, I contour my nose with the contour+highlight shades.

Price: P875.00
Available at Revlon counters at department stores nationwide.

Love,
Helen
