Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream

I'll be sharing with you a product I've been using for 3 weeks (nonstop!) since I got it, and it's Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream. After trying out and reviewing several BBs on my blog, here's my first CC review!

Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream (P948.00)

This CC cream is a 7-in-1 product: Anti-wrinkle, color correction, moisturization, whitening, UV protection, primer, and make-up base.

My first thoughts on the CC cream is that's the next BB cream, but they actually have different functions from each other. The BB (blemish/beauty balm) cream has thicker texture and more coverage, and could double as a foundation, while the CC (color change/corrector) cream has a lighter texture, sheerer coverage, and functions more like a makeup base and moisturizer.

Ingredients:

Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream's formula contains whistler glacial 10%, pink flower water capsule, natural hyaluronic acid (patented ingredient), ceramide, and omega-3. This CC cream is free from parabens, benzophenon, talc, mineral oil, organic pigment, sulfate surfactant, and triethanolamine.

Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream comes in a pump packaging that's very hygienic, but I wish it had a transparent part so I could know when I'm already running out of product. Because of the packaging, I can only guess how much product is left based on its weight.

Swatches:

The CC cream comes off as a white cream, but it contains black, red, and yellow color capsules that bursts and blends with your skin upon application.

I'm actually wary of "color adapting" or "color changing" face bases, since I've tried some before that made me look weird orange, but this one is pure genius. I get that my skin but better finish every time!

Before: My skin needed a little evening out, especially my cheek area with large pores and minor redness.
After: The appearance of large pores and redness are reduced, and my skin looks healthier and glowing.

This CC cream has a dewy finish, so the skin looks moist. It's shimmer-free and yet I get that glow I usually get from applying highlighters.

Before: No makeup

My skin is oily, but not very acne-prone so I am fine with products that give me sheer to medium coverage.

After: Using Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream (only) + lip tint

My skin looks better when I have this on. The redness around my cheeks are minimized, and I can hardly see my pores. The CC cream lasts long when I use it indoors (like in the office), but when it's hot and humid outside, it wears off after a few hours. This CC cream gives a dewy finish, but because I have oily skin, I always top this off with pressed powder on my t-zone, but I skip powdering my cheeks to preserve the glow. Even if it's marketed as a makeup base, I find that I can just use this (and not use any BB cream or foundation on top anymore), and with a light dusting of powder, I am good to go!

Pros:
  • Hygienic pump packaging
  • Pleasant scent
  • Lightweight feel
  • With SPF30 PA++
  • Easy to apply (just use fingers)
  • Color correcting properties actually work and blends with the skin
  • No grayish cast (unlike some BB creams) and could work for all skintones
  • It looks really natural - a my skin but better finish
  • Redness is reduced and pores are minimized, but my skin doesn't look "covered"
  • It feels lightweight
  • No breakouts
  • Price is reasonable for it's content (50ml) and functions (7-in-1 skincare)

Cons:
  • Sheer coverage may not be enough for probematic skin
  • For oily skin, powder is required

Price: P948.00
Will I repurchase? Yes, if I am able to finish this. 50ml is a lot!
Available at all Tony Moly stores and kiosks (at department stores) nationwide. For a complete store list, click here.

I'd like to know, are you a fan of CC creams or do you still prefer BB cream? And if you have already tried Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream, how do you find it?

Love,
Helen
