Etude House Sweet Recipe for Spring 2013

Last week, I experienced my sweetest, yummiest, and cutest afternoon yet when I attended the Etude House Sweet Recipe Makeup Launch. The venue was the Korean bakeshop Tous Les Jours in Eastwood Techno Plaza 2, and I swear their cakes and pastries are the cutest I have seen!

I arrived quite early and was feeling a bit shy and nervous since it's my first time to attend Etude House's press event, but I was greeted by Ms. Rea of Etude House, who was so friendly and lovely, which immediately made me feel at ease! It was so nice to finally meet you and the Etude House team! :D

Arriving early has its perks since I got to roam around the buffet of sweets and take pictures of the new products. The display was so cute -  there were cream puffs, macarons, cupcakes, Danish pastries, and cotton candy together with the Sweet Recipe products. The Sweet Recipe products are too cute and they all looked good enough to eat!

Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base

This one is a makeup base that comes in 3 shades: Mint (for reddish skin), Berry (for pale skin), and Peach (for dark skin). This is a makeup primer with a light and fluffy texture that looks exactly like the cream puffs in the photo below. I'm most excited about the Berry shade, which I'll be using under my BB cream!

Sweet Recipe Chocolate Highlighter

My favorite type of chocolate is white chocolate so imagine my delight with this product! Highlighters are my quick-fix to glowing skin (especially when I lack sleep), and the fact that it has a subtly sweet chocolate scent makes it a winner for me!

Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color

Another product to love from this collection is the Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color for the lips, cheeks, and eyes. This mutlipurpose product has a creamy texture and pigmented formula that gives long lasting color. Plus, it comes in a cute metal cupcake packaging! Each pot holds 10g of product so it will surely last you a long time.

Sweet Recipe Cupcake Eyes

Another product that comes in a cute cupcake-like packaging is the Sweet Recipe Cupcake Eyes. They're two-toned baked eye shadows for that sweet, shimmery look.

Sweet Recipe Candy Stick

Isn't this one so adorable? The Sweet Recipe Candy Stick is actually a fruit-scented tint gloss that changes to a pink shade to match your lips. If you're a fan of that natural look, get this! The candy cane packaging adds an extra sweet touch to your kikay kit, too!

Sweet Recipe Dear My Jelly Lips-talk

The Sweet Recipe Dear My Jelly Lips-talk is one item in the collection that has a simpler packaging, but it still cute with the round detail near the base of the tube. This one is a jelly-textured lipstick that has a moist, shiny finish with an extra sweet scent and taste. The shades are translucent and quite sheer, so this one is good for that fresh and youthful vibe.

Sweet Recipe Ice Cream Nails

If you think you've seen the cutest nail polish there is, wait 'til you get your hands on these Sweet Recipe Ice Cream Nails - nail polish infused with glitter and all things shiny that comes in a yummy ice cream cone packaging design!

Sweet Recipe Cotton Candy Ball

How about some cotton balls that look as sweet as real cotton candy? Check out the Sweet Recipe Cotton Candy Ball. The one on the right is the actual cotton candy, while the one on the left are cute cotton balls that are so precious, I wouldn't even want to use them! This one is made of 100% cotton for the purpose of removing nail polish, and each ball is (when stretched) is long/large enough to remove nail polish from 10 fingernails. Pretty functional!

Sweet Recipe Sliced Cake Puffs

The Sweet Recipe Sliced Cake Puffs are quality makeup sponges that you can use to apply the Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base or your favorite foundation. Each pack comes with 8 slices made of quality latex material and is washable and reusable.

After all the picture taking, I helped myself to these sweet treats. My favorite would be the vanilla and green tea macarons! I should have just gotten a plate full of macarons, but that would leave me in sugar high. :D

Mr. Kim Boram, Etude House Global Specialist, told us about the inspiration behind the Sweet Recipe Collection. This collection is inspired by the Brothers Grimm Classic Fairy Tale "Hansel & Gretel", with sweet-colored and delicious-designed makeup. The trendy spring makeup colors for 2013 are pastel tones, which dominate the entire collection.

Ms. Lim Haneul, Etude House Makeup Artist, flew all the way from Korea for a makeup demonstration using the Sweet Recipe collection. She's really pretty and she has the most flawless porcelain skin I've ever seen!

The last part of the event was a cake demonstration by Mr. Peter, Tous Les Jours baking master. He designed a Rose Inspiration Fresh Cream Cake on the spot for us to see! It was so amazing, and he made it look so easy!

Here's Ms. Andrea Amado, President of Etude House Philippines. (Thank you so much for bringing Etude House to the Philippines!) She was very warm towards everyone, and like us, she was very impressed with Mr. Peter's cake decorating skills.

Tous Les Jours cakes have the most amazingly creative designs. Bring a Tous Les Jours cake to a birthday party and it's sure to be the most impressive one in the bunch! :D

Rose Inspiration Fresh Cream Cake (P498.00)
Filled with hand-picked strawberries from Korea. Perfect balance of strawberries and fresh yogurt cream icing topped with natural strawberry powder.

Everyone who attended the event got to take home a Rose Inspiration Fresh Cream Cake. This one gets sold out every Valentine's Day and Mother's Day since it's a very practical yet equally pretty gift. It comes in a rose shape, after all! The foodie in me would rather receive this cake than flowers that rot in 3 days. True story. Since my Mom has already tried (and loved!) this cake, I shall get her another flavor instead for Mother's Day. Good thing there's a Tous Les Jours store in SM North EDSA The Block.

What are your top picks from the Etude House Sweet Recipe Collection? I think the Baby Choux Base and the Cupcake All Over Color are promising. Do watch out for my upcoming reviews! The Sweet Recipe Collection will be available in local Etude House stores on March 2013.

Thank you for having me at the event, Etude House Philippines! Do Like Etude House Philippines on Facebook, as they're having a SALE once they reach 200,000 likes!

Love,
Helen

    1. Etude House never fails to create the cutest makeup products! I love the way they package their products, and also the fact that their products agree with my skin. Their new endorsers Sulli and Krystal are really cute and pretty, and you might enjoy the Sweet Recipe commercials over at Youtube (featuring both of them). :)

    1. It's really delicious! The icing contains no butter so it has a light, almost fluffy texture. Yung tipong mauubos mo talaga and hindi ka mauumay. My family loved it too, so next time I think we'll be getting birthday cakes from TLJ. :)
