Working Girl Haul: Forever 21 | Solemate

My weekday wardrobe choice is quite limited because I work in an office with a conservative dress code. (I get to wear pencil skirts instead of slacks though, so I'm fine with that!) I'm all about practical shopping, so when I had to shop for a dress for an event that I was going to attend, I made sure that I was going to be able to use it again - like for work!

Forever 21 Short Length Dress in Black & Cream

I was looking for a futuristic-themed dresses, and ended up falling in love with this black and white printed dress. I wore this to both Snoe and Dermclinic events (which happened on the same day). What I love about this dress is that it has mid-length sleeves that hide my too-skinny arms and wide horizontal lines to add bulk/curves. I prefer my dresses to stop a few inches above the knees since I find that cut most flattering for my petite height.

Forever 21 Long-Sleeved Sweater Top in Hunter Green

I got this because its color reminds me of Christmas! Even if it's warm outside, I can actually get away with this since it's freezing cold inside the office. Plus, it doesn't hurt that I got it at 70% off!

Forever 21 Girls Long Pants in Black

I've been searching for a pair of office pants (meaning: not jeans/leggings/jeggings) for months until I gave up, since nothing ever fit right. All slacks looked frumpy and loose on me, until I chanced upon the pants rack of Forever 21 Girls. Yes, the kids section! Lo and behold, I found a pair of black office-y pants in size 12, which fit me perfectly! Believe me, I was so happy and excited when I saw a pair of pants from Forever 21 that actually fitted me. Now, I know exactly where to look - to the kids section!

Because it can't be all clothes and no shoes, I also bought 2 pairs of black flats just because they go well with everything!

Solemate

I've meet my Solemate before, and got more pairs in different prints and colors. But still, nothing beats basic black when it comes to dressing up for work.

Solemate Crayola in Black

Solemate Matallic in Black

I personally think that these shoes will look classier if Solemate just ditched the ribbons. What I love about Solemate shoes are that they're super soft and comfortable, not to mention dirt cheap (P399.75 for 2 pairs!). Because of the price, don't expect the quality to be top-notch. With everyday use (and abuse), these will last you for about 6 months or longer, until the soles start to crack in the middle, but I don't mind repurchasing. Just don't wear this during rainy days; your feet WILL get soaking wet, as the material of these shoes is mainly fabric (except for the sole, of course).

If you're curious, Solemate is available in SM Departments Stores. They do have lots of other colors/designs/prints. They also carry casual sandals too - very nice for lazy days.

What are your "working girl" closet must-haves? :)

Love,
Helen
