Etude House Precious Mineral All Day Strong BB Cream

I rarely use liquid foundations nowadays because of the abundance of BB creams in the market. As they say, BB creams have skincare benefits that most liquid foundations don't have. I've heard tons of rave reviews about Etude House BB creams and it's my first time to actually try one from them.

Etude House Precious Mineral All Day Strong BB Cream in 01

What I do with samples is that I place them in small reusable jars such as this, so that the product won't dry up easily (compared when just using it from the sachet. This way, I get more mileage from the products that I'm sampling.

Pros:

  • The BB cream glides smoothly on your skin, and is easy to blend.
  • It has a dewy finish.
  • A little goes a long way, so I'm guessing this sachet would last me for weeks.
  • It gives medium coverage and can cover dark circles and acne marks. The coverage is even better than other liquid foundations I've tried.
  • It lasts longer on my skin compared to other BB creams (that disappear on my skin by midday).
  • It has SPF 30/PA++.

Cons:
  • I have the lightest shade in 01, and I feel that it's too light for me. But the color tones down after a few minutes and sets on your skin, but it's still evident that I am wearing the BB cream. Shade 02 and 03 is too dark for me, so there's really no exact match for my skin tone.

When worn:

I've actually applied the BB cream in the morning, and this picture was taken about 12 hours after. With my oily skin, I had to blot during the afternoon and retouch using pressed powder, but the coverage of this BB cream is really good. You can still see the dewy and brightening effect of the BB cream even underneath the powder. On days when I don't feel like putting on makeup all over my face, I just use this to cover my dark circles.

I like this product for its coverage, but I don't think I'll repurchase because it's not a perfect match for my skintone.

I'm curious, what BB cream are you using right now?

Love,

Helen

  1. I also use the EH BB Cream but I don't use it when I would have to go to an event. Napansin ko kasi na pumuputi ang face ko sa picture pag may camera flash. Sabi ng makeup teacher ko dati dahil daw yun sa SPF ng BB Creams. So for events, I still use foundation. :)

    1. Oo nga e, may usually white casts yung mga products na may SPF. For night events or pag di ako magcocommute, I use a BB cream w/o SPF. Haha :)

    1. Thanks for suggesting Missha and Skin79 BB creams. I'm seriously taking note of your recommendations for my next BB cream hunt. :D

I like using BB creams too as they're perfect for everyday wear. I feel like I'm not abusing my skin even if it's still considered as makeup. Thanks, Elgee!

    1. I was surprised too with the coverage. If ever you can make "tipid" by using this as a concealer. :D

    1. Hello Miranda and Mackenzie)! I followed you back. I'm always excited to have new beauty blogger friends. :D

The coverage of Etude House Precious Mineral All Day Strong BB Cream is indeed good for a BB cream! However, shade 01 on me looks whiter in person, like there's an obvious layer of makeup on my face. I'd prefer a more natural finish or a shade that is closer to my skintone.

We have Dr. Jart BB creams here too before, but it was overpriced. Would love to try that too though. :D

  6. I use this BB cream (using it for 2 years already) for daytime and outdoor things that I know I'll be sweating and need the least retouch.

When I don't want the bright finish, I use a matte full coverage powder one shade darker to set it..works awesome! :)

    1. Wow! This one seems like your favorite. I don't think I've ever used a single makeup product for 2 years. :D

Thanks for the tip about the darker powder. I also set this with powder when it's hot outside so it won't melt off. But this one is pretty long lasting for a BB cream.

  8. Hi Helen, you have have a great blog. I've been researching about BB creams and I ended up reading your other posts. Anyway, I'd like to know your thoughts about what bb cream is the least reflective on cam? I'm a bit late to the BB cream craze :) but I've to have this all-in-one cosmetic item while living in a multi-tasking world (if you know what I mean). :)
    Have a nice day ahead!

  10. Hi Helen, you have a great blog. I've been researching about BB creams but I ended up reading your other posts as well. Anyway, I'd like to know your thoughts about what bb cream is the least reflective on cam. I'm a bit late in this bb cream craze but I'm taking my chances to have this all-in-one cosmetic item which recently I've known as a must-have in this multitasking world (if you know what I mean) :)

  11. Thank you! :) That's kind of hard to answer since most BB creams have high SPF content which almost always lead to producing a whitish cast on flash photography. People who want to avoid a white cast, then you must try a BB cream without SPF (which is hard to find). I personally haven't tried one myself as my favorite BB cream right now is still the Etude House Precious Mineral Sun BB Cream SPF 50+/PA+++. It has a high SPF so I got the 2nd shade from the line so my skin won't look too white. The shade I got in Natural Beige matches my skintone! :)
