L.A. Colors Lip Smacking Value Kit in CP232 Berry Smoothie

I've been looking for a bright pink lipstick that borderlines fuchsia to neon, so when I saw this set, it immediately caught my attention. I am not familiar with the brand L.A. Colors, but I heard that the one who imports Wet n' Wild here in the Philippines also brings in L.A. Colors cosmetics so I went for it. I later found out that these costs just $1.00 in the US, pretty much like E.L.F. Cosmetics. Most of the L.A. Colors products sold in department store/malls here are priced at P129.00.

This set contains a lipliner, lipstick, and lipgloss.

The lipstick is a gorgeous hot pink shade. I didn't expect it to be so creamy and pigmented because of its price. It lasts fairly long too, even better than other drugstore finds, The downsides to this are the tacky, cheap packaging and the crayon-like scent.

This lip pencil is soft and the color payoff is nice, but I'm not used to drawing my lips so I don't use it much.

This pot of lipgloss is not sticky and it provides a faint tint of color. It could have been better if there were no glitter/shimmer in it.

Swatches:

Lipliner | Lipstick | Lipgloss

Lipstick

Lipstick + Lipgloss

I don't like topping the lipstick with lipgloss since it dilutes the color and makes the lipstick disappear/rub off faster.

Lipliner + Lipstick + Lipgloss

This set is one of my spur of the moment buys. There were no testers available so I couldn't try/test/smell it first. I'm glad that the formula glides on my lips and is not hard to apply. This is a pretty decent product for its price, but I couldn't say that I will repurchase. I'm not really sensitive when it comes to scented cosmetics, but I just don't like the scent of this one.

Have you seen L.A. Colors in malls? The only one I've seen is their stall in Landmark Trinoma.

Love,
Helen

  1. I've seen L.A. colors here in Cebu! :) Their liquid foundations are so cheap, they were like P60.

    1. LA Colors are available in department stores, so maybe SM carries the brand.
