Tagged: 45 Questions About Beauty

While answering this Beauty Q&A, I remember doing "Notes" on Facebook before. Those were the good old days when Facebook was not boring yet and people took app quizzes and played Pet Society. Haha! I got tagged by Jade of Sweethestia with interesting questions about beauty, and I am so doing this post. :)

1. How many times do you wash your face daily?
- I usually wash my face twice a day, but when it gets really hot, my face turns into an oily mess and I have to wash thrice a day.

2. What skin type do you have? Dry, oily, or combi skin?
- I have oily skin.

3. What is your current facial wash?
- My current facial wash is Etude House Happy Teatime Cleansing Foam in Green Tea. It smells so good, and it zaps oiliness away.

4. Do you exfoliate? How often?
- I exfoliate my body often, but not so much for my face.

5. What product do you use to exfoliate?
- For my face, I have a tube of St. Ives Gentle Apricot Scrub for Sensitive Skin. For my body, I use Skin Cravings Scrub Me Pretty Body Scrub in Strawberry Yoghurt (for gentle exfoliation) and Snoe Magic Apple Whitening S-rub (for areas that need more attention like underarms, elbows, and knees).

6. What moisturizer do you use?
- I am too lazy to moisturize. I'm currently using Kiehl's Dermatologist Solutions Ultimate White Activated Whitening Moisturizer, but it's about to run out (since it's just a sample). I works fine for my skin, but I'm not yet sure if it's THE moisturizer for my skin. I like the Kiehl's store in SM Mall of Asia, but I seldom go there since it's so far from my house.

7. Do you have freckles/sun spots?
- No, I don't.

10. Do you use eye cream?
- I use The Body Shop's Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel. I place it in the refrigerator so when I put it on, it feels so good and it shrinks puffy eyes. I also use it when my eyes feel tired and it instantly refreshes.

11. Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
- I still have acne prone skin! I thought that I would be over that when I get to my 20s, but no. It used to be the T-zone, now it's the U-zone that's acting crazy.

12. Did you ever have to use pro-activ?
- No. I would like to, but it's too pricey.

13. What foundation do you use?
- I'm a fan of liquid foundations. I use Maybelline Pure Liquid Mineral Healthy Natural Liquid Foundation with Micro-Minerals and SPF 18 PA+++ in BO1 (Beige Ochre 1).

- I also have this tiny sample bottle of Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup with SPF 10 in Sand. This works so well for me but it's kind of pricey.

14. How about concealer?
- I use Maybelline Angelfit Perfect Concealer in Light Beige. It's too light for my skin tone, but it's the only concealer I have so I have to work it when using it. I have used that for the longest time, but it still has 1/3 product left.

15. Do you know your undertone color?
- I'm not sure if it's neutral or warm. Somebody help me!

16. What do you think of fake eyelashes?
- They're very cute and perfect for no-lashes girls like me. Haha! I still don't know how to put them on on my own though.

17. Did you know that you're supposed to change mascara every 3 months?
- Yup. I think waterproof mascaras were meant to be replaced every 3 months since they dry up easily. Since I use non-waterproof mascara only, I extend mine to 6 months use.

18. What brand of mascara do you use?
- I only use Maybelline mascaras. I've tried cheaper brands and other more expensive brands, but they all don't work as fine as Maybelline mascaras do. I'm currently using Maybelline The Magnum Volum' Express Super Film Mascara in Washable Black.

19. Sephora or Mac?
- I don't own anything from Sephora or Mac (yet).

20. Do you have a Mac pro card?
- No, I don't. But I have cards from other beauty stores like The Body Shop and Etude House!

21. What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?
- I use foundation brush, eyebrow brush, eyeshadow brush, and powder/blush brush.

22. Do you use makeup base or primer for your eyes?
- No I don't, but I think I need to since I have oily lids.

23. For the face?
- No I don't, I just use oil-free moisturizer as base.

24. What is your favorite eyeshadow shade?
- Since my eyes are really not my best and favorite features, I use neutral shades just to add a hint of color. It really depends on my mood. Last holiday season, I almost always used and abused the warm white base and chocolate brown shadow from my The Body Shop 4-Step Smoky Eyes Palette in Golden Brown. I liked the shimmery brown and neutral smoky eyes look.

- Now, I prefer light matte shades like Ivory and Pink Flannel from the Bobbi Brown Pretty Palette (which I haven't touched for months until now).

25. Do you use pencil or liquid liner?
- I use gel liner. It's easier to apply than liquid liner, and it last way longer than pencil liner. I use Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Black.

26. How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
- I don't poke my eyes since I don't use eyeliner pencil often, and I don't line my inner rim/waterline. I'm scared and I tear up easily.

27. What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
- I think they're messy and hard to work with, but nice for creative makeup looks since you can mix the pigments to get a new shade.

28. Do you use mineral makeup?
- Yes, but only in liquid or pressed form since I don't like loose powder makeup.

29. What is your favorite "go-to" lipstick? Why?
- It's funny because I own a couple of lipsticks but I don't have a "go-to" lipstick! Right now, I bring my Human Nature Natural Tinted Lip Balm in Flame Tree everywhere I go, so I guess that's my "go-to" lip color for now.

30. How about lip gloss? Why?
- I'm not a fan of lip gloss anymore, and the only decent lip gloss I have in my kit is Careline Extra Shine Lip Gloss in 1 so it wins by default.

31. What is your favorite blush to use and why?
- It's a tie between Careline Oil Control Blush-on in Peach Glow (which was a recent find), and Human Nature Mineral Blush in Rosy Cheeks (because it's the only blush I know that has no chemical preservatives, parabens, mineral oil, artificial dyes, or other toxic substances.)

32. Do you buy your makeup on ebay/ebay.ph?
- No, I don't buy makeup online.

33. Do you like drugstore makeup?
- I LOVE drugstore makeup.

34. Do you go to cosmetic company outlets?
- Yes, of course!

35. Did you ever consider taking makeup classes?
- Not now, maybe in the future.

36. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
- Yes.

37. Name a makeup crime that you hate.
- Unblended cheek stain or blush that's just a line across the cheek. I want to go up to that person and blend it every time I see that kind of makeup.

38. Do you like colorful shades of makeup or neutral ones?
- I like colorful shades for my lips and neutral shades for my eyes.

39. Which celebrity always has great makeup?
- I always love the makeup look of Taylor Swift. No matter what her look, she always pulls it off like a princess!

40. If you could leave the house using just one makeup item, what would you use?
- I could just groom my brows and go. I use the dark brown shadow from my used and abused The Body Shop 4-Step Smoky Eyes Palette in Golden Brown (see #24 above).

41. Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
- Yes, I do that too and I'm fine with it, but I definitely feel more confident when I have makeup on.

42. In your opinion, what is the best makeup line?
- I browse my makeup kit and see that I am not loyal to one brand of makeup - it's a mix of low-end and high-end brands. If you asked me this question before, I would have said Maybelline at once, but now they don't bring in much new products anymore that excites me.

43. What do you think of makeup?
- I love makeup. It enhances your best features, hides your flaws, and makes you feel beautiful and confident.

44. What is your favorite "quote" related to makeup?
- Calvin Klein once said, “The best thing is to look natural, but it takes makeup to look natural.”

45. If you were a makeup tool/product, what would you be and why?
- I would be a red lipstick that flatters every skin tone. It's classic, but it never gets out of style.

Now it's your turn, ladies! :)
