Jack's Loft

In our circle of friends, it is always the impromptu get-together that works! No long planning session so no one would find an excuse to back out on the last minute. All it took was a few texts and there we were, meeting up at Jack's Loft in Robinsons Place Manila. This served as a reunion for us college thesis-mates, because one of us was studying in China and came back to the Philippines for a 2-week vacation.

Here's what we ordered:

HK Style Baked Pork Chop (P220.00)
Fried rice topped with breaded pork chop, cheese, and tomato sauce, baked to perfection!

This is my order since I love everything with cheese and baked pork chop sounded nice. I wish I had the sauce separated from the rice since I hate wet rice. But I got to finish this dish by myself, so all is well. I just wished there were more cheese in this dish and less tomato sauce because that would have tasted better.

Adobo Flakes on Rice (P148.00)
Served on top of garlic rice and sunny side-up egg

If you were living in another country, you'd be craving for adobo for sure!

Tonkatsu Rice Bowl (P178.00)
Breaded pork cutlet with stir-fry veggies and tonkatsu sauce

Funny how this dish looked like it came from Tokyo Tokyo. The meat tasted just like the one from the HK Style Baked Pork Chop, only with a different sauce. I feel that this is more sulit to order here if you're really hungry because of it's bigger serving compared to other orders. But then, you can always go to Tokyo Tokyo instead for your Tonkatsu fix.

Penne in Tomato Cream Sauce (P189.00)
Our signature pasta. Penne noodles cooked with special creamy tomato sauce. (Spicy)

Their signature pasta could have looked nicer and more grand. The serving looked so small, but since it's pasta, it's quite filling.

Pesto Pasta with Grilled Chicken (P158.00)
Creamy pesto pasta with linguini pasta, topped with grilled chicken and Parmesan cheese.

I was tempted to order this because I love pesto and chicken (from my previous Pasta Plate experience). However, this pasta was bland. Given the choice, Pasta Plate's Cheesy Chicken Pesto was more worth the price (of just P100.00 including iced tea).

Jack Frost Frappe (P110.00)

College friends
I am the photographer.

Although the serving of their dishes looked small, don't be deceived and order too much because they were filling. We were so full that our original plan of ordering cakes for dessert did not push through. Next time, perhaps, we would just order cakes from Jack's Loft since their dishes did not impress us. Have you tried their desserts?

Love,
Helen
