The Body Shop The Sparkler in Dazzling Copper

November is coming closer to an end. With this, I'll be sharing with you a sparkling blog post. :D Honestly, I'm not feeling Christmas-y all over. I don't know why, maybe it just hasn't sinked in to me. Or maybe because the weather we're having now is so hot, it still feels like summer in December. Crazy weather!

Today, I'll share with you my favorite product for this Holiday 2012! Something that makes me smile whenever I use it, and reminds me that the holidays are fast approaching. It's The Body Shop The Sparkler in Dazzling Copper, which is limited-edition and part of The Body Shop's Winter Trend Collection for 2012.

The Body Shop The Sparkler in Dazzling Copper (P1,495.00)

I'm not really so much into shimmery makeup, as I am an advocate of that clean, natural look. But this time, I'll be making an exception! Since it's holiday season, why not play with shimmer for a change? I fell in love with this product the moment I tested it in store.

The Body Shop's The Sparkler in Dazzling Copper comes in a classy boudoir bottle with a squeez-y applicator, very vintage I say! I feel so lady-like whenever I dust this on.

There are 2 shades of The Sparkler, one is Dazzling Copper and the other one is Enchanting Gold (with a lighter yellow shade). I prefer Dazzling Copper more, since it packs on more color. This shade works well on both light and dark skin tones, which makes it a winner!

The Sparkler in Dazzling Copper is an all over shimmer and a seriously multitasking product. It can be used as a face, body, and hair shimmer. Just apply sparingly to avoid mess (and looking like a sparkly vampire like the Cullens). I also like that it is lightly scented.

As a hair shimmer, I find that this product lasts longer on wavy hair (where it can cling to the uneven ebb and flow of the hair's texture) compared to straight hair (where it has the tendency to just slide off).

Swatch: Used as shimmer

When applied lightly, it results to a very subtle shimmer. I so love the effect it gives, especially when I wear shoulder baring tops. It highlights my collarbone area like no other.

Swatch: Used as blush/bronzer

When I said that this product is a multitasker, I really meant it, since this one can also be used as a shimmery blush/bronzer! Look at how pigmented it is when used as blush!

When worn

I think I'll be using The Sparkler in Dazzling Copper not only this holiday season, but also for summer because of the peachy/bronzy glow it gives my skin. (Now, if only I could use this during the day, everyday!) I think this one is best used at night to add an ethereal glow to the skin. But no one is stopping me (and you!) from using this during the day - just apply with a light hand and you'll be good to go!

The only con of this product: The shelf life indicates that it's just good for 6 months upon opening, and there's no way I can finish this product within 6 months! It might even take me 6 years before I even use all these shimmers up. But then, because this is in loose powder form and not cream/liquid, I still think that this product is fine/safe to use even after 6 months. I would hate to toss it in such a short time! The Body Shop, please enlighten me on why this product has such a short shelf life. :P

Have you seen The Body Shop's Winter Trend 2012 Collection? Which one is your best bet?

Love,
Helen
